I have wanted to add more aircraft and vehicles to MC Helicopters, and finally found several good free 3D models in obj form that could easily be imported, but my main problem is that the textures for the 3D models are in multiple files, while MC Helicopters can only have one. Can anyone please explain how to get a single png from multiple texture files?
Thanks,

(I have tried to find something in 3ds Max, but other webpages say 3ds Max doesn't have such a feature...)
If its a nice low poly model then send me a link to the helicopter and I'll help out as far as editing the model and putting it all onto one UV map so its ready to be textured.
If its some 8 million poly Hind then I relinquish my offer
I can help out on the blender part but as far as getting the .obj file into Minecraft with everything textured correctly I can't help sorry, sure some of the pro's on here can assist if you need it.
Thanks, here's a link to the airplane that I want to add: http://www.cadnav.com/3d-models/model-10500.html
I'm not sure if the model is "low poly" but I assume that you mean resolution. I took a look at the files, and they don't seem to be too pixel dense, perfect for Minecraft.

Low poly means that there are very few polygons in the model. You can think of it by looking at the models from mobs, only squares, and only a little amount of them. I can't tell exactly because I don't have the files, but according to the screenshots this seems extremely high poly. Not only will it be a pain to put in Minecraft, but it would also probably lag heavily as the engine really doesn't like high-poly models. You can still try though
First problem cant open file as its in .max, blender can open .3ds files I think .max is an older file format not sure only used 3dsMax few times, best actually finding a model with .obj file format as its the most universal.
Second if this model you choose has not been retopo'd then its poly count will be crazy and the only way to retain the high detail will be to retopologize the model to make a low poly count mesh then bake the High detail render onto the low poly mesh - which is a lot of work. Look for models that appear to have very high detail but shows a low poly count, I'm not sure on what Minecraft can handle in this department in regards to poly count but as Ferdz said you should aim as low as possible to avoid creating lag.

Thanks for the responses. I can import the 3D file into 3ds Max, and export into obj if that helps, but seeing as that there are other complications, the file type is not the only problem and won't solve much. However, thanks for all the responses, I have a greater understanding of what I am up against.

My co-author wrote a tutorial on how to use .obj models in Minecraft in 1.7.10. It has changed in 1.8 though. But it'll give you an idea on how to load it and render it if you're not going to use 1.8.

Thanks, but I'm having a bigger problem with the actual model, not coding for it. I can't find a way to "unwrap" the model's textures in 3ds Max.
Can't really help in max only did modeling with a trial version yrs ago but there are plenty of vids on youtube just search your max version. If you are still stuck export the file to .obj post link I'll see what I can do.
Okay, thanks. Most of the problem is because MC Helicopters is mainly a Japanese mod, and there isn't a lot of information about creating expansion packs for it. I know that the mod requires an obj or an mqo (Metasequoia) file for 3D, and requires an additional textures png file, which I have narrowed down to being an unwrapped view (at least I think).

I don't think I like my profile picture upside down...
I have the same problem, but I do not know how to solve it.
