Yeah, Long shot I know, but does anyone know of anything like that off hand, I'm gunna look into the ender star but I don;t think the moon counts as an Entity.
and on that note is it one? I think it's just like a texture that moves....
No there is no code that detects if moon is on the screen. And moon it not an entity it is just a part of the sky rendering. But maybe you could do some vector transformation to see if the middle of the moon is in the screen. But that is not easy at all.
In all honesty it almost seems like my best bet is to make an invisible entity that's all ways at the edge of your render distance that follows the moons path, But even that sounds a little complicated...
I mean if you know how matrixes work and converting from 3d point to screen x y (known as reversed ray tracing) than you should be able to detect of moon is in the screen. But I am guessing that you don't know that...

Not doing mc modding that much anymore because I am making a full blown game that does not have limitations that mc has. (rip Magiology for now)
I may come back if MC fixes it's rendering pipeline.
World#getCelestialAngle() is worth checking out, with that plus the player's rotation and yaw you should be able to figure out if the player can see the moon.

OK! I got far enough from working on the mounting thing (its going pretty well but I Kinnndaaa hit a wall, For the moment) to work on this, andd I already have a question,
Anyone know how getcelestailangels command works?
I mean I think I get it, It compares the time of day calculated by some ticks recorded by the world class or something similar, and were the textures of the sun and moon should be, then gives an output.
my question is WHAT IS THAT OUTPUT!
It's Numerical right!? I'm not even sure of THAT at this point, I just keep trying to use different comparative math operations to look vector Y and nothing works!
OK that was complaining, But seriously what is the output of that command? A number from 0 to 360? I can't really figure it out....
though that doesn't explain why when I tried to say that the area that could be used was inside the + 10 or - 10 of the celestail angel, But I'm learning thie is a finicky piece of code _u_
maybe you could simply make a vector that goes from your eyes to the moon and get the look vector. Than normalize both of them and a dot product and use that value to get if you are looking at the moon

Sorry for not really replying (and that this isnt a really good reply)
But right now Im just tweaking little parts of my mo before I move on to more stuff I don't understand at all XD
So im just asking a bunch of questions ad getting them close enough to working before I move on.
That being said I found a way to mess with the celstailanges code to make it coincide with player look vector so I can test if the player can see the moon and how much of it they can see, YAY!
I dunno if this works for my purposes since, I haven't gotten ot the part of my mod were this will be called. hence the lack of updates.
But seriously thanks for all the help. would not have figured that out with out it XD

Blargh DX
Thought so XD
thank for the information

To be honest that is probably even harder.
I mean if you know how matrixes work and converting from 3d point to screen x y (known as reversed ray tracing) than you should be able to detect of moon is in the screen. But I am guessing that you don't know that...

No but now I have some information to google when I try to take a crack at it, So thanks for that
XD this is mostly just to get some ideas for now, I barley started looking into this part of the mod.
ok cool!

This is not the signature you are looking for.

ok Cool! I'll check them both out!
"though I might be a bit, Im excited to play with the mounting codes I just learned, Thanks again BTW"
and both of you for the moon stuff

Nvm, mu numbers were to big I tihnk....
90 is when the sun is directly above the y axis(noon).

Np this is why I am here. (and to ask sometimes)
