3. Making sure that Item pipes can't connect to Fluid and Energy pipes and the same for Fluid and Energy
These pipes will be added to my Minecraft mod when completed
All i want is a simple tutorial that will teach me how to transfer Items, Fluids and Energy though my pipes (note that i will be using Team CoFH's RF Energy API)
If anyone knows of one could you please link it to me, yes i have tried looking at BC's code on GitHub but i just can't seem the get the grasp of how its done
There is no such tutorial. Sorry but you'll have to relay on your java/minecraft code/CoFH api knowledge.
Edit: To me it was easier to make my own power system instead of using a complicated api
I have tried to create my own transport system but the furthest (for item pipes to start off with) was i removed the item from the connected inventory and had a copy saved in side my pipes NBT so that if broken it would drop the item but i cant seem to get the item from the pipe to another pipe or even to another connected inventory
anyways do you know if a pipe system requires Packets, cause ATM im doing all this in the onUpdate() inside of my pipes TileEntity class
EDIT: i mean "updateEntity()" not "onUpdate()" in my TileEntity class
Yeah you need a packet system. It is all implemented in for you by forge so it's real simple. (there are some tutorials for it)
But I recommend you to start with power. It is much easier because there is no itemstack's, moving/rendering items in pipes, etc...
Yeah i would start with energy but i don't have a energy machine nor do i know how to make one
Would it just be replace the "currentItemBurnTime" in my furnace to a "power" int and check that it is more than 0
You don't need to render Items that are flowing through the pipes could be like TD (Thermal Dynamics) opaque pipes but i will agree that it would be nice to see the Items flowing through your pipes
EDIT: anyways this is where all my energy settings are gonna be, hopefully i will be able to convert from my energy to other mods energy on the fly and be compatible without needing to reference other mods
My energy will be called "Solar Expansion" similar type of RF but not as powerful
Title says it all
What i have done already:
1. Rendering the pipe
2. Connecting to other pipes
3. Making sure that Item pipes can't connect to Fluid and Energy pipes and the same for Fluid and Energy

Not doing mc modding that much anymore because I am making a full blown game that does not have limitations that mc has. (rip Magiology for now)
I may come back if MC fixes it's rendering pipeline.
