I've been optimizing worldgen in my mod, and I've noticed that once in a while, a generated structure will spawn like this:
I've looked at the Minecraft village generation code to see how it generates cobblestone in empty spaces under the houses, but I didn't understand it.
How could I, when an empty space is detected under the generated structure, fill it in with dirt?

Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot, but how do I do that?
I assume that I iterate over a range of coordinates, but how would I go about doing that?
