So, I really want to get into modding and have been trying to install MCP for my mac (running Yosemite), and I dragged my jar file from the versions folder in minecraft to the jars folder in MCP (it is the 910 build), and then I run the decompile script after typing in cd [MCP folder path], and I get this error:
I fixed it! I had accidentally deleted the .jar file when copying it over, so it broke, but I have the source code now but at the end it said "missing server jar file aborting". Is that bad? Also, thank you so much for your help on this.

If you're working on your mod for the server, yes it is, and you should fix it. If not, no, the server jar is not important.

Please run launcher & Minecraft at least once.
I have tried everything and have run Minecraft a couple times, but nothing works.
I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks.
(If there is any other info you need to diagnose the problem, just post beneath here)
Have you tried running the correct version of Minecraft (1.8 for you)?
Yes, the Minecraft version I am running is 1.8.3.
No, you NEED to be running the exact version of 1.8, MCP requires that specific version.
Ohhhhhh, ok how do I get that exact version?
So I got the right version (straight 1.8) but now I got a new set of errors:

Have you actually tried running the game with that specific version?
Yes I have.
Check if this file exists, then.

I'm not, so its fine. Again, thank you so much!
