If you cannot view the video, I basically log in to my world, no error messages so far. Grab a crafting table and put the crafting recipe for the weapon that is in my mod (a golden bladed wrist). But I find that there is no texture and is replaced by the default replacement texture. However, I already have the same item in my inventory that is displaying the correct texture.
I did change the model code in the .json file, however I only edited the first person rotation data. Nonetheless, here is the code found in the .json model file for the golden bladed wrist - http://pastebin.com/5DEQy2ic
If there is anything else that is required, please reply and I'll get to it as soon as I can. Thank you
You shouldn't be creating Item instances for crafting recipes, each Item should be instantiated once during preInit and registered with FML (GameRegistry.registerItem). After that, you should reference this instance instead of creating new instances.
Items and Blocks are usually stored as public static fields of either your main mod class or a dedicated item/block registry class.
As a rough example of what you should be doing, I wrote this.
Please don't PM me to ask for help or to join your mod development team. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future. I'm not interested in developing mods with people.
Oh I see what the two of you are saying. Yes I had already made the variables in the pre-init method in my main mod class file. I just didn't realize that I had to reference them. And yes, I have already registered them in the GameRegistry. I'll make sure that it works.
Hooray it works! But that means I have to edit the other 50 crafting recipes for all the other weapons I've already made... Thank you for teaching me to test all parts of code that are possible... -.-
