Last night I started making a mod called "Technos' Adventure Expansion Pack" It's going to include all kinds of new objects. Like new blocks, mobs, and biomes. I am using MCreator to make this mod because I never scripted a mod. But the main thing is, I can't use MCreator to make few things. I've started using it a while ago.
I have started with a maple forest biome. With maple wood, planks, and leaves blocks. It's a simple forest biome with orange trees and orange grass. However, I have several problems:
- Maple logs are not placed horizontally
- Leaves cannot be fancy. You could see through the ground when leaves are placed on it. I also cannot switch between fancy and fast leaves. Leaving me with opaque textures only.
- I made a maple sapling. But I couldn't make it grow. It's just a stationary plant. Another maple sapling can also be placed on top of another one which is incorrect.
Is there something I'm missing? Is MCreator a bad program to make mods with? Do I need to script myself to make the mods? I think sometime I'll figure out how to script these kinds of blocks. MCreator is not helping me as expected.

So I felt like trying to program mods using Java. I'm not at the stage of programming yet. My real problem is setting up.
I checked a video and I'm supposed to download Eclipse to code the mods. Then put the Src for forge somewhere and do some console work. Then use the workspace on the Src's eclipse file. I was supposed to open the Minecraft folder in Eclipse but I get an error. I read the instructions on the video correctly. But instead I get
"The project description file (.project) for 'Minecraft' is missing. This file contains important information about the project. The project will not function properly until this file is restored."

Never Mind. Yesterday I found the problem here on the forums. I then was following a series of videos on how to make basic mods. I'm doing well so far. I have made a few items, blocks, and recipes. In fact here's what I have right now:
New metals! Mithril, Bronze, Adamant, Silver, and Unobtainium. You can use these metals to make better tools. Once I'm able to export my mod to a working zipped file, I'll release an early version of this for you to experiment and give feedback.
