Hello everyone! Currently I am trying to figure out how to put a lot of blocks (more than 16, I'm using metadata right now) all into 1 ID, like Eloraam did in RedPower2. I know that there is something about TileEntities, but I'm not sure how to go about coding such a thing.
If someone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

I think Eloraam used forge for that.

I don't think metadata HAs a limit. I have a script that uses 17 metadata and no crashes or errors whatsoever.
Could you please send me the code for that? I tried it, but when I place down metadata 16, it goes back to 0, when I place 17, it goes to 1, if I place 18, it goes to 2.
I believe I know how she did it. Basically you make one block, one block item, and a TileEntity. In your BlockItem, you just set it up so it sets a value in the TileEntity to whatever blocktype you need. So you just use the damage values of the items, which go over 16,000, to set the TileEntity you want. You would have to have custom block break methods though, which is why IC2 uses the wrench and why you can't break RP2 blocks when you hack your reach to far.

That helps me a lot in understanding on how she did it. thanks!
TileEntity.
No idea how these are made. Could someone point me to a tutorial on how to make them/how to use them?

I don't mind using forge myself, I just don't know how to code the block.
Did I help you? There's a little white plus down the bottom. I hope your confused!
Isn't metadata's limit 15?

Not sure, but I don't think she only used 1 blockID.
