This pack will not be ported to any other version.
I am NEW to making a modpack. I have spent several years putting this together because well, I learn slowly and I didn't have more than 1 other person willing to test things along the way. With that being said, this is essentially still a WIP modpack with bugs to yet to be seen and squashed. Moral of the story is, be productive with your feedback. I may not be able to figure out every issue you're having, but I will do my best.
Any changes made by you (config changes, mod updates) are NOT supported.
Now, on with the show!
Progressive Survival is a new 1.7.10 modpack about extending and enriching your Minecraft experience, by creating an advancement in technology - from basic stone tools, to complex multi-block machines, magic, and intricate, but rewarding automation. The multi-block structures/machines will require a significant investment to create, so you will feel accomplished with everything you build, and every milestone you achieve!
But BEWARE; None of this is meant to come easy. The night is harsh, the weather doesn't always cooperate, and the farther you dig, the more dangerous the foes become. This pack is intentionally difficult, and you will probably die often, at least in the beginning.
You can find many materials that you'll need through exploring, fighting monsters, and scrapping armor and weapons you've found along the way, instead of mining for everything you need. There are plenty of structures to explore that you could even call home in your journey!
The ultimate goal, should you choose to accept it, is to complete all of the custom achievements.
It's best played with friends! Make it a competition and see who can complete them first, or work together!
Also, try not to die.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:

So much more to discover on your own!
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
You will die.
Your start in this pack will be rough. This is fully intentional as it is designed to be difficult.
Enemies have been buffed. Some will spawn as "mini bosses" with names.
Many recipes (and some blocks, like the Vanilla Furnace) have been heavily modified, disabled, or completely removed.
The modified recipes are available through NEI.
If the recipe isn't in NEI, and the item is from MineFantasy II, use the Research Book from that mod to find it instead.
If a spell does not work, it has been deemed unfit for the pack, and was disabled intentionally.
Be creative. My intent was to attempt to make it "realistic", in such a way that the method used to obtain things should make sense. For example, sifting dirt, you may come across some small rocks.
Technology is limited. Automation is achieved mainly through Flaxbeard's Steam Power or Immersive Engineering.
Going underground without armor will be punished.
This pack includes Enchiridion. Please use the provided Wiki! (default: H) While it's not super in depth, it may provide answers to the more commonly asked questions.
Quest rewards are designed to give you a small boost. The higher the tier though, the better the reward.
Equipped items and items in your inventory take durability damage upon death.
Adding to the above point, I have INTENTIONALLY stayed away from typical tech mods, such as Buildcraft, IC2, etc. These do not fit the overall "theme" of this pack.
RECOMMENDED MODS & CONFIGURATION:
OptiFine_1.7.10_HD_U_D6 - Zombie resource pack won't function without it
ServerSync - for hosting private servers
Suggest 4GB dedicated to running this pack - Can use less with good garbage collection
World type (SSP) - Realistic (for best experience)
World type (SMP) - RTG (for best experience)
Prepare to die.

Please let me know what you would like to see on the overview page and I will try to accommodate. I am still working on this, so keep checking back. Currently I am trying to transfer structure generation to Recurrent Complex and see if it will function with what is already set up. If not, no big deal, but that's what I'm spending my time on right now.
Just a quick update - I've finished all the custom structures and NPC's I'm going to do.
Working on structure spawning now.
After that, there's a couple of cleanup items on my list. I also still need to verify all my mods are on curse, and then figure out how to create the pack. New to this, so any help would be appreciated.
Still looking for someone who might want to design a Custom Main Menu! No idea how to do that and I'd rather not take months of half-inspired work to figure it out.
It's more like, finishing the pack in 2021. lol. I've been working on this very slowly for a few years. I learn slowly, and I had no idea how to even edit a config file when I started.
So, I put it up here, since it would help motivate me if other people were interested in the pack. I'm really hoping someone will end up doing a series (even a short one) because I would really enjoy watching someone else play and giving their feedback on it.
I've completed transferring all structures to Recurrent Complex. Not certain how I feel on the spawn rates but that should be mostly complete as well. Doing some tests with friends before the first release.
