Hey all, people have always asked me what my new pack is about and what the server is going to be based off of, so might as well create a thread, get some pointers, suggestions and criticisms. The pack is going to be centering in all aspects of Minecraft. And I'll go through how all aspects links up.
PvP = This will be the only server exclusive part of the pack, you'd need to try defend your base from unwanted visitors, also to gear up and raid other people for the base they have. So it will be a faction feel on the server. A lot of weapons are fun to collect, such as side quests to get loot bags and weapon cases to try get lucky for a heavy damage sword etc.
PvE = There will be mods such as SpecialMobs, SpecialAI and (undecided) Lycanite's Mobs for a slightly harder challenge in environment combating, this will help progression through using the loot table to get mystical crafting components, unique for each mod. By allowing this, players would be encouraged to find new terrain and generation and explore through dungeons.
Technology = By using GregTech 6 (actively worked on mod) we can give a good grind that's educational, realistic and somewhat fun as an early tech in the game, by processing ores in a manual sort of way, connecting to this is the ability to make steel from Railcraft or Immersive Engineering blast furnaces. From then on, a vast option of tech mods jump right in from EnderIO to IC2. All these options are available. To those who are wondering, Mekanism is at the top end of the Tech scale as it is OP for what it is, Osmium is now only process-able in a few different machines.
Magic = Magic, amazing part of Minecraft. You can advance through magic to get some really OP spells and perks, but that is also balanced, with magic, it links back to having to travel for special item to craft your favourite Thaumcraft items. [Hint, if you love magic, you'd love Twilight Forest too (magic ores only spawn in Twilight Forest)].
Tools/Weapons = This is a fun one that I brainstormed the idea in the shower. To start off, you'd have to use Greg's dynamic tool system, this is inconvenient to, say compared with Tinkers' Construct's system, but TiC tools do get really irreplaceable after a while, I want to eliminate that by forcing users to use GregTech tools to advance. After a good Tech and Magic progression, both will come together to give you the good smeltery TiC offers, allows you to make more advanced tools and basically its vanilla TiC from then on out. (There are tweaks I've done with Iguana's addon which allows you to get no random modifiers).
Endgame = I haven't decided on this yet. But Draconic Evolution and resource duplication in terms of ProjectE and Magical Crops.
So all in all, this pack aims to be a pack that is quite progress in every mod should be touched in a way, thank God for MineTweaker. I didn't mention much about sidequests because those are most likely going to be server exclusive from NPC characters. Also, if you will be playing on the server (I'll make a thread when its out), the ultimate goal is to be a money-making machine and to be the biggest faction on the server. Thats all I have for now!
