I'm looking to build a new questing pack, kind of a mix of regrowth, Blightfall and Obscurity. The story line is like apocalypse meets Stargate (The tv series). I'm Looking to see what, in your opinion makes a Questing modpack good. I'm going to go for a mix of HQM and Custom NPCs to give a realistic type story line. The map is a complete desert as the storyline is based on a planet which is closer to the sun than Earth is, so it's hot and barron. I'm using poor ores, metallurgy and completely scaled back ore gen, but still leaving enough to keep mining fun. I'm also adding mob mods to make the wilderness harsher.
But my question really is, what makes a good Questing pack? Decent amounts of themed quests? Progression of mods? Good tutorials? Custom items and recipes? The use of Rep in HQM? Places to explore? Dungeons? Custom builds? What makes you find a questing pack fun?
I'm also looking for beta testers and perhaps a few people to assist me with things I'm not so familiar with. I've been running servers for 2 years, all modded, so I know my way around.
Thank you for any Input you may provide, also looking for mod suggestions.

a good storyline is one but combined with a custom, well-designed map really puts a quest-driven modpack way over the top. it's what i absolutely love about blightfall. custom dungeons, cities, areas that make sense with the lore of the pack and add to it. it's a whole lot more work on the authors part but that's what makes a great pack stand out amongst all the good ones

Yeah I love Blightfall too, it's one of my main inspirations for starting this project. Thanks for the input
