I created this Thread because a lot of you had problems playing or installing my modpacks (ArcaniaCraft, Sword Craft Online,...). In this thread I wanna show you how to find the error reports and correctly send them so I can analyze them and help you. Because I create all my modpacks on a really good Windows PC and for me all my modpacks work fine and without gamebreaking or big errors, I need your error reports to fix your errors. There is also a guide to fix some of the small errors yourself. Also I just wanna state that obviously I will only fix errors occuring on my own packs.
Warning: As said before I create all my Modpacks on Windows. This guide is also mostly for Windows. Most of the guide applies to Apple's OS's and Linux OS's ,too. I will try to complete the Mac and Linux parts but I need your help and corrections on how to access certain files and fix error's on different OS's. If you want to play my packs with few bugs and crashes please switch to Windows.
Instructions: To fix your problem you just have to follow the steps below. Make sure to go through them in the right order to avoid confusion.
Ignore spelling in the pictures
1. Easy Error Fix
In this section I will give you some ways to easily fix some of your problems. Try all of them first before you do anything else.
Mac and Linux (Optional):
First I want to inform that especially on a Mac-OS Java, Minecraft and Forge versions are very unstable. I recommend installing Windows as a second OS on your ApplePC. A guide to do this can be found here!
Linux is kind of similar to Windows so you should be ok to use it.
You also need to make sure to install the newest Java version in 64Bit (if possible)!
Note: Make sure you uninstalled all previous versions of Java before. Use JavaRa for that!
The download to the currently newest version can be found here!
Change the launcher settings (Ram, Java Version, etc):
Sometimes the TechnicLauncher corrupts some files while downloading or unpacking. This can cause problems. If nothing of the above worked try to completely delete and reinstall the pack. If that didn't worked try to wait some time and try again (This can only help if you are experiencing one of the 1. Type problems).
If nothing of this worked go ahead and post your report as shown below!
2. Classify your problem
The first difference is the difference between a crash and an error. A crash is basicly Minecraft shutting down and throwing you back to the TechnicLauncher main menu. Crash reports are most likely to be generated. An error is just one little thing not working properly and can be gamebreaking but need't. An error can often cause a crash. But for you this doesn't really matter. I just want you to title your reports correctly. If you cannot see what type your problem belongs to, call it crash. I will refer to everything as a crash in the following because its easier.
Now to the more important difference. The time or situation when the crash/error occurs.
You downloaded and installed the pack and now want to play. You click on play and the little bar slowly goes blue. Then for a brief second a window opens and closes immediately. Or nothing opens at all. And you are back at the TechnicLauncher menu. This error is most likely caused by the techniclauncher itself or your OS or a very early forge fail and can not always be fixed by me. Post the launcher log and the crash report (if available).
2. Type: The pack crashes at startup:
You clicked on play. A window with minecraft opens. The pack crashes or stops to load at sometime before the menu opens. A crashreport is most likely to be created. Post the crash report and if you want the launcher logs.
3. Type: The game crashes ingame:
You play and suddenly, when creating a world or just playing, the game closes and you are back at the TechnicLauncher menu. A crash report is most likely to be created. Also OpenEye (a crash analyzation mod) should be triggered. On the next startup look for a little green check mark in a box in the main menu. Click on it and open the crash report in your browser. Post the OpenEye report and/or the crash report and/or the launcher logs.
3. Find your launcher log or crash report
1. The launcher logs (Ignore everything in this picture except the way to the launcher logs):
2. The crash reports (again ignore everything that is not the way to the reports):
Open Eye (No Pictures)
You crashed. On the next startup look for a little green check mark in a box in the main menu. Click on it and open the crash report in your browser.
4. Upload your launcher log or crash report
Upload your crash report to github or another file sharing website. Make sure its available for everyone. Copy the link to it.
If you have a special problem or something you cannot describe, feel free to embed a picture in a spoiler in your comment. Use imgur to upload.
6. Post your log or report
Comment on this post. Put in your name, the problem classification/type, a short description of the problem and the link to your logs or reports. Do not post the whole report in the comments without putting it in a spoiler!
7. Wait for a reply or fix or update
Just wait until I checked the report. I will read it. Do not repost your report. I will reply to you when I fixed the error or if I cannot fix it. And I will also notify if I updated the pack to fix your error.
okay so i finally got the download to work, but then it wont let me do anything after the mojang screen because it says
"forge Mod Loader has found a problem with your minecraft instellation
You have mod sources that are duplicate within your system
Mod Id: File name
tconstruct : tconstruct-1.7.10-1.8.5.jar
tconstruct : tconstruct_mc1.7.10_1.6.0d40.1.jar"
Myself and my cousin are having the same problem. We both got the same error when we started the game, and when we originally went to install it it have the insanely high negative percentage that Jack4427 details in their last post.
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
On the Arcaniacraft, it gets stuck on the 7/7 loading stage with only the top loading bar.

Someone once said, in defense of a poorly thought out suggestion that was not being supported: "Theres so much awesome and rare things to add and youre just like, oh , thats too good, no, i want something common like a grass block"
I have the problems where it goes to the minecraft loading screen and it i=either tells me there is a tinkers construct duplicate, there is no metallurgy core, or it just disappears after loading. This post didn't really help me at all because no crash report came up at all and the force console thing it disappears on launch.
You have around not even one GB of Ram and a 32 bit pc. The pack is just simply too heavy for your pc. I might make a light version. But for now you need to assign more ram to minecraft or upgrade your pc. Im sorry
