"... Joey: It's on my list of things to do before next world version to teleport to all the scout locations and toss a few potions of purity at the base of the tree."
I just hope the non-tree nodes don't get tainted while you do that. I barely saved the one near the plains scout point and one of the two on eerie island near the shores. Also, don't forget to hit the few silverwood trees in the silverwood forest and eerie island that have pure nodes but aren't next to a scout location. =)
One more thing, are you interested in knowing any grammar errors I find in the quests?
Just wondering if there's a list somewhere for where ores spawn that actually applies to Blightfall? Like Iron spawns between x height and y height. Specifically looking for manganese I know there's a couplein the quests that tell you where, but for the most part, it's hit and miss. The Scout quests are pretty vague about ores at times. Maybe something to include in the books that give you info about each ore?
Denikke: Scout quests are extremely vague about ores. After completing scout quests, geologist quests open up that are much more specific, almost always giving specific Y-heights.
...but on further inspection, unlike all the alien ores, there *is* no geologist quest to get manganese. Hmn. I'm gonna have to find some other way to tell the player where manganese is. Thanks for the heads up.
Server stopped working after the updates. Is the server update going to be released as well, or should I start looking for the mods and manually replace the old ones?
Yeah, I mean, you're supposed to agree to the EULA every time start up a fresh minecraft server. Thing is, I need to test the server before shipping it, and that means *I* have to agree to it, and sometimes I forget to "unagree" to it.
Just tryin' to protect Mojang's legal interests. I figure it's polite. :/
So not sure if this is intended but I've tried a early game play through of the 2.04 E update. and I have been digging around in a several different biomes and can't seem to find any lead. I've found several copper but no lead. is lead supposed to be this rare? I knew it was fairly rare in previous versions but I seriously have found no lead and my minning hammer has leveled up several times and filled several barrels of various cobble stone types.
Hello, having a big problem with Blightfall. I'd really like to play it, got it to install on my Technic Launcher, but the game won't start. It'll load up, get to the Mojang screen with the loading bar and "initializing" bit at the end, and then just go straight back to the launcher. I've noticed a lot of people are posting on the modpack's page on the download page, but I'm not seeing anything here about it? So I figured I'd mention something here. It also takes forever to even get to the point of closing/crashing for me.
I do still use Windows XP and only 2GB of ram, in case you've got anything in the modpack that would prevent it from running due to that. I haven't been able to find anything on the pack's minimum requirements though.
The XP part of it is fine... for minecraft at least. (The security concerns are still there.) But yeah, I think 2 gigs allocated to java is the minimum needed to play minecraft... meaning a 4 gig machine is needed in order to make sure that minecraft and the OS can both run together.
If it were my game, I'd find some way to lower the system requirements. But I literally spent about a week working on Blightfall trying to get it to fit into 1.5 gig of memory, and I just couldn't.
I might give it another shot now that the modpack is a little better developed. The problem is that if you remove a mod, and that mod has an item used in a quest somewhere, then HQM will crash to desktop with an unhelpful stack trace. Removing a mod integrated into the quest book requires a lot of guess and check where you delete quests, remove the mod, if it crashes you add the mod again, putter around deleting more quests, remove it again, etc.
Swat_Raptor: I never touched oregen, but you are the second person to say lead is more rare. It's something I should look into, I suppose, but I don't see why it would have changed. I found lead in the world after a minute or two of creative mode with a hammer.
Hmn. Alright. Guess I'm just outta luck then, don't exactly have the money to upgrade anytime soon. Windows 7 is like... god awful expensive, and I refuse to touch Windows 8 with a ten foot pole. May pick up some more RAM though, that's pretty cheap I think, at least for a system as old as mine.
And I can run Minecraft just fine on my system usually. Hexxit works pretty well usually, though I'm not sure how many mods that has. Granted I have to use Optifine and put everything on lowest lol.
Thanks for the responses though. I appreciate it. Good luck on Blightfall's development, don't worry about trying to squish it into 1.5 gigs I know most people have a better system than I do and it's just a matter of finding the money to upgrade.
After updating to 2.0.4e I went to floating island 3 and found the teleport beacon, however I could not right click on it to unlock the teleport or teleport anywhere else with it. This is my first time at the island so I'm not sure if it is an issue with the new update or if it was always broken.
Also, how am I expected to remove every single block of taint in the whole world? So far it seems like the only way of removing taint is planting ethereal blooms or silverwood trees. So is there an easier way to clear the taint, besides planting hundreds of thousands of ethereal blooms around the entire world?

There is an advanced block for removing taint that you can research. It works quite well for clearing large areas, if a bit expensive.
So I had to wipe the BlightFall mod pack and then when I tried to reinstall the new version it wouldn't work. I got around this problem by selecting the mod pack options and changing the version setting back to a older version (2.03) which installed fine. and then changing the mod pack option back to load the recommended version (2.04E) which updated and played fine. I also do run a desktop with not spectacular specs.
I don't know why this works but I figured I'd post it because this kind of issue comes up for alot of people.
you need to either make your own reactor (from the big reactors mod) from scratch, or save up enough reputation to request a starter reactor from the supplier. Reactors are the only way to make RF, (aside from request energy cell refills 1 at a time)
if you have have never made a multi block big reactor then I'd suggest you search you tube and watch one

Joey: Check your PMs.
if you have a pulverizer and a induction smelter you can use the pulverized coal + iron induction recipe to make steel

Ah, now I have to agree to a EULA. Just a note for everyone in case you forget or don't pay attention (I never used to)...
In the server files, open eula.txt and change false to true or the server will not start.

did it become more rare?

why have the lack of ores anyway? i mean with the whole "go outside and die" part it really does just screw progression over :/

How do I make RF in this modpack??
Can sb help me, I'm a noob
I tried to craft Steam Dynamo, but didn't work

I'll check that later!
Thank you!
I can't get Blightfall to run on my computer. It downloads and opens fine but when I try to load a world it brings me back to the technic launcher.
