Pickaxes are the obvious choice, but they're disabled in blightfall as far as I know.
If the furnace won't burn it, is there another way to get the essentia from it?
1. Pickaxes are not disabled. But pickaxes cannot be CRAFTED with VANILLA materials, there are countless alternatives.
2. I don't think so. In older versions of Thaumcraft you could catch some essentia with a crucible, but not sure about that one, read the Thaomonomicon.
I cannot seem to craft a French horn for the paranormalist quest line. I'm using exactly the same things from the NEI recipe but I'm still having trouble. Nothing works.
Dont really expect an answer here but i noticed there were no normal mobs spawning like zombies, spiders creepers even tho i cleaned a pretty big area in front of my base. was setting it to peacefull and back to hard and suddenly a huge load were spawned instantly.
You can't expect an answer if you ask no question.
yea i guess the question sentence could be a bit more precise even tho i meant because this modpack is kinda old so i expect no answer.
is it posible those mobs dont spawn because there are too many "blighted" mobs? (Tainted Sheep. pig. cows)
Yep. you need to clear a rather large area before non-tainted hostiles spawn. But enterng healthy areas as well as conventional attacks kill tainted mobs, except for tainted hybrids.
Nonono. i meant i have some clear land but no normal mobs were spawning. then i switched to peacefull for a moment (since it wipes all hostile mobs) and back to hard and instantly new one were spawning.
so is there a limit to mobs and no auto clear of mobs to make spawning new one posible?
Many tainted mods persist even if you leave the area. Tendrils and Swarmers definitely do.
Past a certain point mobs can still be spawned, but won't naturally spawn.
There will be a crafting recipe in the upcoming patch that will re-activate a disabled crafting recipe to turn Sunflower Seeds into Sunflower Seed (which you can plant). This was just an oversight when disabling most of Pam's Harvestcraft (so as not to spam up NEI inventory).
This (the adding back of a plantable sunflower seed) doesn't seem to have happened as of 2.1.5; am I missing something?
Is there any reason why I can't get silver bell saplings? Or is there a way and I'm just being an idiot. It does not appear to be a drop from the sapling bag and I wish to use it's planks as decoration blocks,
While I understand that there is no need for the Jaded to be fleshed out as the player need only interact with the map room, teleporter room, and drop pods; the empty rooms and undecorated hallways once bothered me to the point where I decided to polish it up myself... and wound up expanding it to a five-deck ship. The airlocks work, make venting noises and have status lights; Drop pods have doors, unique looks, and working bay doors; the reactor is functioning and fulling inside the ship, there is a new cloning administrator, brig, etc.. All accessible spaces are fully decorated, I could climb out onto the wing, and locked doors give off a warning noise if you try to open them.
Here's a transparent cutaway comparison view, with the original on the bottom:
I did this about a year ago. I always intended to share it, but I'm not the most active of internet citizens, I'd need Talonos's permission to distribute the MCEdit schematic, and I have no idea how to package the new CustomNPCs that go with it.
Under the spoiler, some highlights of my fan-expansion of the strangely-fated Jaded.

A few things... this is an awesome, challenging mod pack but I have a couple teensy issues. For one, you should enable the making of dynamos and of fruit trees. I love making pies and juice and smoothies so the trees would be great. The dynamos are just so overwhelmingly crucial for power that I would love to be able to actually make them. Not to beat a long, long dead horse, but I cannot find any darn tin for the life of me and copper is also way too rare. I get why you would have them as being rare but they are maybe a bit too rare. One final thing, this one is a fair one not to act upon. There is a mod called ex nihilo which is used in mod packs such as agrarian skies and crash landing which are also high caliber questing mod packs based upon a great wasteland around your few bubbles of safety. They have ex nihilo to make the start of the game easier and ease autonomy with machines. The one problem is that it may make the game too easy so I would understand why you would choose not to add the mod.
TL;DR
Please add back in dynamos and fruit trees, make ores more common, maybe add ex nihilo.
Right next to Omega base, there is a massive tree which contains many supplies for the very basics of Thaumcraft and tinkers’ construct. If you plan on going, I advise starting at Alpha base and getting some flowers to protect it from taint and going via foot and boat. In fact that’s how I started out my most successful world, you also have the safety of a bio dome nearby and many squid to keep you company. Just keep in mind that you will need some gold to start off your thaumcraft journey which isn’t especially easy to find. The point is, it has tons of thaumcraft supplies so you can either live there or loot it.

I made a D flip-flop!
It must be a very specific potion.
I made a D flip-flop!
You are aware, that there are several items named "Potion of Invisibility"?
I made a D flip-flop!
There are multiple of those as well.
I made a D flip-flop!

Yours truly - a great admirer of this modpack.
