!!! THIS MOD IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED OR SUPPORTED !!!
This mod is a part of the Legacy+ collection of mods. For more information, please visit the main thread.
Alpha Recrafted aims to revive the Alpha version of Minecraft, specifically Alpha 1.1.2_01, the last version with the classic neon-green look and before biomes, with new content that fits the aesthetic of the game at the time. The goal is to make a small-form, vanilla-friendly mod that emulates the feeling as if Notch took a few extra weeks to release Alpha 1.2.0. Furthermore, some of the updates act as "Seecret Friday" updates, actually released on Fridays (or Saturdays) and adding seecret content that isn't announced!
Regarding support, please do note this mod was made in a single week as a coding challenge for fun. Thus, it only supports single player. I do not find it worthwhile to add MP support to this, as the multiplayer for this alpha version is pretty bad, and I don't feel like improving it.
Finally, big credit goes to DirtPiper and his NSSS mod for inspiring this mod's creation (and the greater project of Legacy+ as a whole!). If you haven't done so already, do make sure to check out his mod
Additions
* Beta 1.7.3 biome system with only three biomes: Vanilla biome (comprises most of the world, UNTOUCHED), Desert and Snowy areas
* Weather (chance to rain, snows in snowy biomes) - Rain hydrates soil and puts out fires, snow piles up on the ground in snowy biomes, giving renewable snow.
* Creative Mode - Includes the Beta 1.8 inventory (full block and items list), flight, proper god mode and infinite stacks. Mobs don't spawn in creative mode by design!
* Fishing - Works just like Alpha 1.2.0. Fish share the same ID as they do in later versions, allowing seamless conversion.

Thank you! I appreciate it =)
I am planning on doing another update soon-ish. I will keep updating this mod until the summer, when I plan to start working on Beta Recrafted instead.
Great mod! I don't know where to say this but I'm really enjoying it. Can I make suggestions here? Mushroom stew doesn't heal health for me on the latest version, and in the same theme of adding the other discs, can you add more music from C418 volume alpha?

I will not be adding more music discs, as that would require me to use my own proxy, and I already use that for the main trilogy. I don't wanna add more music to it.
As for mushroom stew, I fixed it for the next update.

Version 1.1.9 is out!
Alpha Recrafted v1.1.9
Added support for 256 world height. Previous worlds should automatically convert to the new format.
Fixed player leggings not conforming to the sitting position when riding entities.
Fixed mushroom stew not healing.
Please note that this is the LAST major version I plan on doing for this mod, as I think I've added everything that I cared to. I need to focus on my other projects, and I think this is a good high note to end the mod off on.
I will still support the mod with bug fix patches until the summer, should they be needed. August at the latest is when I will drop support for the thing for good.

No problem, thanks for the fix!! I know you said you're done but I just wanted to clarify I meant ambient music ("hal1.ogg", "hal2.ogg", "hal3.ogg", "hal4.ogg", "nuance1.ogg", and "nuance2.ogg") as these were added in the next update (a1.1.2) and I think they fit well, NOT the music discs.

I just want to warn you guys, if you have a world (or rather, chunks) generated in v1.1.8 or any of its patches and try to convert it in 1.1.9, IT WON'T CONVERT PROPERLY!!!!!
Chunks will get misaligned. This is because the converter only works if the block data is missing 16 sections above the old world height, but I am a huge idiot and forgot some leftover code in the chunk provider in v1.1.8 when I was first experimenting with 256 world height. As such, worlds/chunks generated in those versions already have those chunk sections, so the converter never runs. However, something causes them to break (probably due to weird coordinate indexing).
So please, if you are reading this, SKIP VERSIONS 1.1.8!!!! Unless you never plan to update beyond them. Either that, or do NOT generate any chunks in v1.1.8.

No, because there is no versioning. If I added deletion of those sections, it would do so every time you reload the world. If I had known sooner, I would have added a version tag to the save data in v1.1.8, but alas, I did not. So there is literally nothing that I can think of. Simply skip that version, or dont load any new chunks in it. It's best to just use the latest version of the mod anyway.

I imagined that 1.1.9 could be re-uploaded with such a version tag feature for 1.1.9 worlds and then saves without the tag would have the sections deleted
Well I thought this way it would do less potential damage, only affecting one recent version instead of 6 older ones. Also if 1.1.9 is likely the final version of the mod the people who started their worlds on it or brought them from pre-1.1.8 could simply not update (in that case it would perhaps be better to make this hypothetical update an _01 instead of a reupload, for clarity's sake). In case there will be more important updates after 1.1.9, maybe they could be instructed to add the tag to their save manually. Though I do understand that you're preoccupied with other things.

Just want to announce on here that I am officially discontinuing this mod. I have achieved all that I wanted to with it, so it won't be receiving any more updates or support. Thank you for playing this and I hope you enjoyed doing so (and will continue to do so!)

It's a goofy thing that's part of the floating world type. When you make a floating world, you sometimes spawn in midair due to there not being enough land to spawn you on (there is a hard limit of 500 attempts to find a spawn, otherwise the game would hang), so my "solution" was to forcefully spawn you on a skyblock island if that happens. There's even some seeds where you spawn with nothing but void all around you, so it feels like a "proper" skyblock.
Point is, the skyblock addition is a failsafe to prevent half of the floating generator seeds from being unplayable. It's not a serious addition, and to experience it, you have to get lucky with your seed.

If you are on 1.1.8, get _05. I fixed Classic worlds not launching. This was due to some leftover code from a 256 world height experiment.

Oh, that is an idea yeah, but I am too lazy- er, busy with the Infdev+ cleanup. :troll:
But come to think of it, it still wont help, because worlds before the reupload would also be affected, and 1.1.9 has been out for a week now.
I am working on a total conversion mod for each development phase of Minecraft!

Just wondering how do you access Skyblock? It doesn't seem to appear in the world creation options
