Thermite
A Minecraft: Java Data Pack
Melt Pesky Obsidian.
Evaporate ice and water.
How to Use:
Place a Ancient Debris on a Magma Block and it will create Thermite, the reaction will turn nearby Obsidian into Magma.
Water and Ice nearby will be evaporated.
Standing to close may hurt.

I think it depends on what scale you mine at. 🤔😂
I use tunnel bores to clear large areas, the size of the blast is pretty well balanced for the way I mine at least.
