Will there be any future updates that increase the viewing distance of the display? I like to build stadiums and arenas and this mod is great for integrating scoreboards, however, the displays disappear when I get too far away. Nevertheless, this is still a great mod!
Also, will we be able to control multiple screens at the same time from a different location? I think it would be great to be able to control a 4 screen jumbotron from a control room and have all the screens in sync playing a scoreboard animation.
I know that these usage examples might not be the most mainstream, but they could inspire some cool/creative ideas.

Well, there's a config option to change the screen view distance. Don't push it too far, you may experience some bugs. I'll try to fix this in the next WebDisplays version. Controlling multiple screens from a different location is also a good idea. I'll see what I can do. Thanks.

You can paint using the SketchPad website, with the Laser Sensor upgrade and the Laser Pointer item. Trapping your friends requires some Javascript knowledge I'm afraid. I think I'll make tutorials for that. Anyway, you can find help on the WebDisplays wiki, and by hovering an item in-game and pressing F1.
I can't believe Web Displays is back. This is something I've been waiting years for. I first found out about your mod from The Yogscast. Their spotlight on it was from 2012... I feel old now. Anyway, you need some help with Linux support, eh? Well, I'm your guy for the job, I think. I actually tried my hand at getting JCEF working back at the last release, but the provided directions were not exactly helpful. Just tell me exactly what I need to do, and I'll do it. Linux deserves some love!
Yup, I agree, Linux deserves some love. The truth is, JCEF has plenty of bugs on Linux and I don't know myself the exact instructions on how to fix them. But I'm working on it.

Nah I won't port this version to MC 1.7.10 sorry. The Minecraft internal code is completely different and back-porting would require too many changes. Also, maintaining a mod for different Minecraft versions is quite hard.

A while back, we had a server where we had a big movie theater, and a bunch of us would pile in to watch movies like Dawn of the Dead. It was the most fun I ever had in Minecraft that didn't involve killing. But when we migrated to 1.12, we sadly lost this mod. I missed this soooo much!
I'm installing this after work and will play with it tonight. Hopefully we can still watch Youtube. We tried using some other services, like Netflix, HBO Go, etc., but they wouldn't work properly, or didn't work in full screen, but Youtube was super fun regardless and there are lots of movies to watch there. Looks like I'll need to build a new movie theater to replace our old one
Is it possible to include a setting with the redstone controller where it could automatically play a YouTube video when it loads up? I am currently in the process of building a movie theater and I was going to make a central control room for each of the theatres where I could have it play different videos and not have to go in and manually start the video. Just press one button to load it up and walk away.

I'm testing few things right now and I can't find a way to play MP4 files directly from the web (from my web host). I think Java is downloading the video file when I'm going on the link (because the task manager shows bandwidth usage). Do you have any solution for this ?
It's cool to be able to play YouTube videos but Twitch streams (HTML5 player) are no longer working in 1.0 (as well as Dailymotion for example but it's a Flash player so it's normal)...
It may be because of what you can see on the image (H.264 not supported).
@montoyo Still on ComputerCraft topic: There's a fork from a top CC contribuitor (SquidDev) which "aims to provide earlier access to the more experimental and in-development features of the mod."
According to him: "Unless they're doing some dirty stuff with CC internals it should work fine - the API is entirely compatible.", so i think future builds with CC api should be compatible with mostly CC forks, at least with CC:Tweaked.
Aside this, i sent a PM to you. I hope you dont get upset about the question there.

hey so im using the version for 1.12.2 and i have the mcef and the right forge version installed but when i get on and plug in the keyboard and junk to type in the url it just stays on a blank white screen and i cant get it off any help pls?
or even a tutorial on how to work the stuff out because every video i search up about this mod is outdated

This mod seems to crash for me when I have everything installed correctly.
(SUGGESTION) Maybe you can add a TV model and it costs 6 web displays and some iron ingots (that shows the same stuff as the web display.
