I read (can't remember where) that to un-haut a building we should kill a certain number of mobs, but for now it seems impossible for some buildings.
I guess nobody reading the topic so far has any tip, download or tutorial on how to add a lot of buildings / floors to the generation method of this mod?
McJty, I noticed this options when i was playing around with world gen on DW20's modpack. I like the concept, though i noticed that even on the rarecity setting the city still takes up much more room than the other world gen and are not what i was expecting when i heard "rare".
would it be too much to request a "city biome" that doesnt take over an existing biome but inserts a new biome that is generated with this mod?
EDIT: it may seems that i may not have had rarecities correctly chosen when i created my rarecities world i was referring to above. while the normal world-gen now outnumbers city space in my new rarecity world, my original sentiment still stands. it seems that cities are more common than i was expecting. I was expecting them to be about as rare as villages, thought i do like seeing the bigger ones connected by road and rail. it realy makes the aesthetic.
Yeah, well, i managed to do it but for some buildings the number of mobs to kill is insanely high. I changed the configuration, but i'm afraid it doesn't impact the already-generated buildings.
Anyway, the difficulty is greatly increased by the mod i'm using Infernal Mobs.
I still love this mod and would like to help creating floors to increase variability.
there is always the option to create a world using the "safe" setting. it removes all the spawners and you should be able to use light sources to keep a floor clear after you have killed all the mobs.

Hey there man, Really amazing mod, I'm wondering, I've been playing it for a while now, and was wondering, as I used to create maps, I've walled off a 1km section of the city spawn and been rebuilding it as a type of sanctuary, would you mind if I uploaded it for download for people to play, I've added a storyline to it etc, *OBVIOUSLY* all credit for the original design of the city would go to you, I'd also make sure to push links to the download of your mod, fully promoting it in the description, download and in game. if the answer's no, it's ok, I'll be fine playing it and building it just for myself to enjoy

I love it, but is there a way to reduce the size and amount of the cities? I'd rather find it more of a scarcity, then your whole world overrun with ruins. Maybe find a ruined building or two in shorter clumps and then every once in a while find an entire ruined city. I'd find that much more fun. Plus there'd probably be much less lag.
Actually I found the way to reduce them down, but not a way to reduce the frequency. I got these small mounds everywhere now....

Hello. For every one who wanted to add guns into lostcities(It's obvious if you wanna it like water is wet):
This mod uses vanilla loot tables, so for example you can patch techguns 1.12.2 (the mod that i use) and add here edited vanilla loot table. The problem is that i don't know how to do it exactly because even if maybe i can edit loot tables, i can't add a new lootable. I tried to patch tech guns mod, watched dozens of modding tutorials, and i almost gave up. If there is a good programmer / hacker, then i hope they will read the solution.

i am having the same issue and every time i go in general.cfg and change the generation type for the overworld from default to rarecities and load the server world the settings resets itself to how it was before (default generation)

I am using Lost Cities 1.12.2 and Biomes O Plenty.
I have the leveltype "lostcities_bop"
I am also using a custom profile : https://pastebin.com/fq4TU4cJ
I am getting an error upon starting the server that lostcities cannot find biomes. All of them appear to be minecraft default biomes.
They are in "S:allowedBiomeFactors"
Please assist!

All those biome names are invalid. Where are you getting those from?

Hey there man, Really amazing mod, I'm wondering, I've been playing it for a while now, and was wondering, as I used to create maps, I've walled off a 1km section of the city spawn and been rebuilding it as a type of sanctuary, would you mind if I uploaded it for download for people to play, I've added a storyline to it etc, *OBVIOUSLY* all credit for the original design of the city would go to you, I'd also make sure to push links to the download of your mod, fully promoting it in the description, download and in game. if the answer's no, it's ok, I'll be fine playing it and building it just for myself to enjoy

I love it, but is there a way to reduce the size and amount of the cities? I'd rather find it more of a scarcity, then your whole world overrun with ruins. Maybe find a ruined building or two in shorter clumps and then every once in a while find an entire ruined city. I'd find that much more fun. Plus there'd probably be much less lag.
Actually I found the way to reduce them down, but not a way to reduce the frequency. I got these small mounds everywhere now....

I'm having an issue with lostcities and getting it to actually work.
I put the approrpiate version of lost cities into mod folder.
In server.properties I've changed level-type=lostcities_bop and level-type=lostcities
Once server starts, it just keeping sending me to my same world with no changes.

Hello. For every one who wanted to add guns into lostcities(It's obvious if you wanna it like water is wet):
This mod uses vanilla loot tables, so for example you can patch techguns 1.12.2 (the mod that i use) and add here edited vanilla loot table. The problem is that i don't know how to do it exactly because even if maybe i can edit loot tables, i can't add a new lootable. I tried to patch tech guns mod, watched dozens of modding tutorials, and i almost gave up. If there is a good programmer / hacker, then i hope they will read the solution.

And for who is believing that the author will add 1.7.10 version of the mod, then you are so pathetic like you want a nether update in minecraft cave game. He doesn't want to do this, cuz there are way newer mod versions.
If you want to create your own mod then just use MCreator for 1.14.4 above.

i am having the same issue and every time i go in general.cfg and change the generation type for the overworld from default to rarecities and load the server world the settings resets itself to how it was before (default generation)
