what if when you right click a villager with a book, it wont work unless the villager is a librarian (white). it makes sense because they'd be smarter about the village right?
But then I lose the ability to let different professions clue you in on different features.
Also, the librarians do have the unique functionality of being able to make you the Codex item. Check the original post or my "features" video for more detail.
Odyssey Update: Village Names Version 2.0 is complete! There's love for all versions but consider the 1.7.10 version to contain additional Halloween treats!
Some highlights are:
Back-ported Concrete, Concrete Powder, and Glazed Terracotta for versions 1.7.10 through 1.11.2

Really nice mod, but I think something is missing. I really think villagers would give their protectors the iron golems a name, would be nice if golems got a name too.
And a new idea for the codex: what if you could name biomes? sure the villagers in a desert would give their land a name and wouldn't call it just desert. Don't know if this would be too much but I think it would be a nice addition.
The biome names should include the actual biome name, so that it would be mod compatible and a biome isn't accidently called something wrong.
Example: Desert of Rabatunga or even with a prename like: scorching hot desert of...
with Highlands installed: Flying Mountains of Bindui
The names could be biome type dependant so that deserts have some deserty names and so on
I've thought about the Iron Golem. Players can make IGs too so we can't name them upon right-clicking them. And I don't know how to make a spawned IG distinguish between natural generation and having been created by the player.

Hmm would it be possible to replace the villager spawned or player spawned golem with a custom entity? So that one of them would be named upon right clicking
Perhaps you could just name the golem if it's within the bounds of a village? Then you can just assume that the villagers named those golems who've been stomping around, even if they didn't build it themselves.
The Lost Miner Villager is named with this mod, but the Travelling Merchant Villager has no name. (Ok since the Travelling Merchant can have all trades from every villager he might want to be anonymous )
In the Nether spawn sometimes Sheepman Villagers ans Sheepman Villager Smiths, those would be cool with names too.
This mod adds (with lots of other features) the possibility to cure Zombie Pigman and turn them to normal Pigman that can trade with you. Unfortunately those do not count as villagers and have no name.

The primary new feature of the Homecoming Update is that you now have access to a custom village generator which implements all the modern 1.14+ village buildings and styles.
