One of the biggest problems of having a long term server is the headache when a new update is released by MC. Once you update your world, players need to venture to far-off lands to find new mobs, new features, and new structures.
The Minecraft Chunk Deletion tool removes all the hassle - now you can delete all the chunks in your world that nobody has built on, letting everything else fully regenerate with all the new structures, mobs, and features with every update!
A great way to prepare for minecraft updates, or regenerate raw materials in servers with world borders.
How does it work?
The chunk deleter works by a whitelist - you specify which block IDs that you want to save, along with the Y range to search in (for example, cobblestone above y=65, but anywhere with a hopper). You can also specify a "safe radius".
The deleter tool will then take your whitelist and search through your world. If it finds a chunk with one of your whitelist blocks, it saves it (and anything in the radius you specify). If there are no blocks in your whitelist, that chunk gets deleted and will be regenerated next time you load it in your world.
This means that all the player-build structures get saved, while all the areas that were just mined or explored get removed and regenerated.
You can use this tool in any world type - vanilla, modded, spigot servers, anything!
Note: This tool will not reduce your world size (yet). We are planning that feature for version 2.0, depending on how much interest this verison generates.
Awesome! How can I get it?
This tool was developed for the MineCraft Lovers Server, so you can find it on our website (completely free, but we always appreciate donations).
