What the devil is Wulfenite? I've never heard of it...
This mod is made to add obscure resources that aren't well known or recognized. The point of this is simply a project I took on my own time to strengthen my knowledge of Java programming and aid my understanding of how Minecraft works as I grow as a programmer.
WHAT THIS MOD ADDS:
This mod adds 5 new ores and new materials. Wulfenite, Molybdenum, Ruby, Amethyst, Pyrite, and Diamonite (Diamonite isn't an ore). Each item can be crafted into armor and tools (with the exception of a few) and all tools/armor are enchantable. It's basic for now, but there are a few features which help vanilla gameplay such as tools and armor that are slightly stronger than Diamond and a weird food source that makes you nauseous, but helps your food and saturation levels. There are also Scythes which increase seeds gained from breaking tall grass, and even helps leaf-capitate trees!
WULFENITE: Wulfenite is a brittle, orange gemstone with very high reflectivity. It's so reflective, that you can see it shine in a cave! This gem can be crafted into a Gemstone Block which also shines and emits small amounts of light. It's too brittle to be made into tools and armor, however it sits proudly in the middle of a crown! RUBY: Ruby is a very strong gemstone, with higher density than diamond. However, it fails in comparison to a certain gemstone combination... This is the best gem to use against the creatures of the night as the tools and armor are some of the strongest in Minecraft! Put on this armor for a luxurious, shiny red armor set that doesn't sacrifice in durability and in strength. MOLYBDENUM Molybdenum. No, that's not a fancy type of denim, it's a type of metal alloy used in creation of industrial metal tools. This is slightly stronger than normal iron and can be crafted into tools and armor. This ore is a... well ore in Wulfenite and can be extracted from the gemstone to make Molybdenum shards which can be smelted together into ingots! AMETHYST Amethyst is a strong gemstone, stronger than Diamond but not Ruby! It can be made only into armor though... PYRITE ORE (Fool's Gold) Pyrite or in Layman's terms: Fool's Gold, is a brittle metal that can't be made into tools and armor, however it can be made into food. Whether or not it is worth eating is up to you... DIAMONITE (Combination between Wulfenite and Diamond)Diamonite is the strongest resource in the mod! All you have to do is somehow breakup diamond and combine it with wulfenite. It can make tools and armor!
All crafting recipes for tools, armor, and material blocks are the same, just with the new material inside of it. If you really don't know, use a mod called Just Enough Items.
NOT IMPLEMENTED YET:
I plan on adding several features in the future, plus new ores. The current build is Stable, but if you find bugs, don't hesitate to let me know here and be sure to link your crash log in pastebin.com and comment the link.
(No new features planned)
You want Wulfenite in your mod pack? All you need to meet are five simple conditions:
1. Your mod pack needs a link back to this forum post.
2. You cannot make any money off of the mod pack.
3. You cannot claim that you made any part of the mod, and you must give credit to the author of the mod (Xenocorpse).
4. If I ever ask you to remove my mod from your pack, for whatever reason, you do so.
5. Handle any queries and bug reports internally first.

No matter how good or bad your mod is, advertising it with a download count will prevent people from actually checking it out because alot of people make up the download amounts and put ridiculous numbers on their threads, pretending their mods are famous even tho they arent. If people wanna see how many downloads your mod has, they take alook at the curse box, but putting it in the thread title will prevent people from actually checking out your thread because they think the number is just a clickbait, especially because your thread had 0 replies until I commented this. The average mind on these forums doesnt understand that there is a possibility that the mod hasnt always been on these forums but already got a whole bunch of dloads on another website, they just think "hey this thread has 40 views and 0 replys but claims to have 3k downloads, what a scam!" and keep scrolling. Just saying.
Besides that, I really like the theme of your mod. Right now it is rather simple but the wolfenite armor textures, despite being simple, I really do like, as well as its gemstone block and diamond mixed gemstone block version.
I would recommend you to go for alot more unique items like that crown. Special tools, weapons, gadgets and armor parts. A scythe for example, to get more seeds from grass and more seed types as well, alongside more drops from crops. Armor that negates certain potion effects, maybe a chest plate that when the player recieves damage from the wither effect, turns it around to fill up the player's health with hitpoints from whatever he hits while under the effect. Stuff like that, ores for the nether and end, and try to break out of the standard ore texture pattern for that, design your own, and come up with unique uses for the stuff so it doesnt just turn into another generic "Hey I made 20 ores and tools and armor for each of them" mod, but stands out as the mod that is actually different and brings new, unique ideas into the game. And no, making up your own ore names is not unique and new, while maybe the names might be unique there are still already so many mods that do this I recommend you to rather stick to real materials like the vanilla game does (with the exception of Nether Quartz and Redstone Dust).
I'll keep an eye on this, keep up the good work.
Postscriptum: if you are interested in joining a modding team to work on a special very detailed dimension mod, message me. Axanthic game studios needs new, capable and motivated coders who are in for a challenge
I do agree with the "click-bait"ness of the download count. It's just something I used to do for mapping which helped out a lot.
I intend completely on making this much more complicated and intricate than just another resource mod, but I have to start from somewhere right? As said in the OP, I'm taking this opportunity to explore Minecraft and programming to aid my programming knowledge, so exploring new and interesting ideas in modding will help me out tremendously. I plan on making pyrite (Fool's Gold) more of an interesting metal and giving use to wulfenite and molybdenum for other things than just tools and armor.
I can't wait to keep this going, but thanks so much for genuine feedback! It's so hard to come by nowadays!
Version 0.4.0 Has been released! This adds the new tool, the Scythe! The scythes can be crafted with any material except amethyst and pyrite (Fool's Gold) and are used to capitate leaves, and get extra seeds from tall grass! If you know Biomes O' Plenty, the functionality is the exact same as theirs.
