I hate to bring up a subject that might have been helped, but I have looked everywhere and no solutions. I really want to play this mod pack, I have the correct java, and I can play many mod packs, sans this one. Please, can someone smarter than me help. It just crashes java, and closes. Here is my java report.
obviously this person has some sort of religious problem with a fake goddess in a video game.
That moment you realize you mixed up the people this was for... Ahaha...haha...ha. *ahem* It appears that cactuspuncher has never played a single Harvest Moon game, nor knows the fact the Harvest Goddess is present in each iteration in one way or another, and is iconic to the series. She's included here as both an iconic figure, and as a way to be able to incorporate the mod without the need for any worldgen. Adding an option to skip her is basically throwing mud directly in the face of the entire series this mod is based on.
@AtonalPrism, that log doesn't give any information as to the crash itself. The only thing I see from that log is that the game lagged out pretty hard when you joined the game. How much memory have you allocated to Minecraft in the Java arguments? Also, what mods are you using currently? And just in case: Optifine tends to... not play well with some mods. Try temporarily removing Optifine and try to load Minecraft again.
Hello! Finally got a chance to download and play the mod in the Farming Valley modpack for a bit the past few days. Got my house mostly built and went to summon the goddess to get going, only to discover she has no text. I tried sleeping the night, exiting to the menu, closing and restarting the game, even downgrading some versions in case it was something going on with the current. Theres no crashes, just a little lag from Fast leaf decay, and everything else so far seems to be working as it should.
Quite frankly I'm stuck on what to do, as the pack is essentially unplayable for me at this point.
I really REALLY love this mod, I'm playing it in farming valle.
I just got ashlee to a purple heart and she gave me something but the game glitched out and took it away...i don't even know what it was I wanted a list of gifts so I could get what glitched back.
I have a question about moving buildings. If i don't like where a building is, can i demolish it and then buy a new blue print to place it somewhere else? Or am i Stuck with where I placed them.
I can't see any ghost image when I am holding a blueprint.
After I confirmed to build, the game will crash every times if I talk to Yulif.
These problems happen on mod version 0.5.4 to newest but the version 0.5.3 is normal.

I know that animals will get sick if they are not fed every day and properly cared for, and from what I've gathered via reading comments around the web, it can take a few days of feeding them and caring for them for the sickness to go away.
We have a trough set up in the pen with a cow, sheep and chicken, and only the chicken has remained unsick.
I was looking through the code in the github, and it looks like once the animal has been fed, it should automatically become unsick(or at least, at the start of the next day).
At this point, we're not really sure what's going on because we can't seem to keep any animals healthy for more than a day or two tops without having to constantly shell out gold for medicine, which has greatly reduced the money we can earn from animals.
We are running version 0.7.4 of the mod, and would love any help you guys can offer here.
There is no version 0.7.4 of the mod. The instant healing the next day only applies to the 0.6 version. In 0.5 they don't autoheal. In 0.6 caring for animals is easier too. 0.6 is in alpha on curse.
I assume by 0.7.4 you're playing the farming valley pack... Which is on 0.5 atm, until 0.6 is properly ready. But yeah cows/sheep get sick too easily because they need to be brushed in 0.5 in order to not get sick. (I changed this to just being for happiness in 0.6).

That's way too many times I said 0.5 and 0.6 xD
Ah yes, that's right. Sorry about the version number mix up.
So in 0.5, once an animal is sick, the only way to cure them medicine, and then repeated brushing daily to keep them cured, if my understanding of what you said is correct.
For reference, which commit was used to build 0.5? I'd love to take a look through the code for that build of the mod, that way I know when I'm talking to our players I'm giving them valid information about how things should work.
I'm finding that there isn't a lot of third party sources for information for the mod and going straight to the source is a nice bonus for once.
Thank you so much for the help, this will help us keep the farm running
I enjoy this mod greatly, having been a Harvest Moon fan for some time. I remember when you actually had to worry about having enough food to eat on the old Gameboy version. ANYWAY.
I like that there are seasons. However, winter is treating me rather unkindly. When indoors, but where natural light can get in (doors, windows, etc) the screen goes completely white when it snows. Completely. I can still move and see the user interface. I am technically inept, but my best guess is maybe the weather effects of this mods require better graphic support than the vanilla game. Since it isn't crashing, there is no error log I can supply.
I am curious if this happens to anyone else. Although I suspect I just have to reconcile that my dinosaur of a computer just might be spiting me out of yet another fun mod. I have all graphic settings as low as possible just to play Minecraft.
Sounds like it is a graphical issue for you. I don't experience it and other people i've seen player with the mod, just have the foggy effect. What you could do is umm in my configs disable snow and blizzard as weather options. Granted it'll never snow in winter, but at least it's not 'unplayable'. I can probably add a config in the future to disable the fog effect.

Does the mods weather effects bypass the particle effects setting used in Minecraft? I only spent a day or two in winter but if i recall correctly changing that setting didn't seem to change the effects of the snow.
I will change weather effects in the configuration. I never muck with confg files until I am told to do so by a dev or someone minecraft/mod savvy because I don't trust myself not to screw everything up. I know snow is the issue because toggledownfall fixes the problem every time. I do not think particle settings effect it either because mine are set off. Or decreased. I don't recall right now actually. And like I said, it only makes me blind when indoors. Which is the part I find the most bizarre! While outside, it is fine, even beautiful.

This looks like a brilliant mod!
I am looking forward to watching it progress- good luck!
Hey there, I have a (hopefully) quick question.
Yeah, also working on a wiki and 0.6 has a book, so hopefully things will be better in the future xD.
For 0.5 just make sure you're looking at the 0.5 branch > https://github.com/PenguinSquad/Harvest-Festival/tree/1.10.2-0.5.X
Alright, awesome, thanks for the link!
Is the wiki public access currently or still hidden until it's more complete?
The wiki isn't public fully yet, plus it will only be accurate for 0.6 anyway
Ah, alright. Is there any way to get a mention when 0.6 and the wiki are released?
