I'd also love to see some config options for the tall grass drops. I'd like to force players to get rocks from breaking grass dirt blocks vs breaking tall grass. Since I have Ender Zoo installed, breaking grass blocks by hand can spawn a mob, creating more difficulty. Yes, I'm cruel. =)
And another question. Is there supposed to be a delay when throwing rocks? It seems to have a 3-4 second cool down.
The recipe for the flint knife uses cord but the iron knife does not, which makes the recipe conflict with the iron chisel in the Chisel mod. Perhaps you would consider adding in the cord to resolve that?
The iron knife recipe doesn't use cord in order to make it consistent with the rest of the iron tool/weapon recipes, which of course are unchanged from vanilla. I suppose I could just add leather strips (as used in the bone/stone tool recipes) to all the iron tool/weapon recipes....

I'm confused. It sounds like you're asking me to remove (or allow a config option to remove) rock drops from tall grass, but... tall grass doesn't drop rocks. That really wouldn't make much sense.

The delay should actually be more like just a single second, but yes, I deliberately built in a delay between throws. Before I did that, you could basically use a pile of rocks as a machine gun that could take out a mob before it had time to do much of anything in response. And I really didn't like the idea of a pile of rocks being the most efficient weapon in the game.

I am definitely seeing rocks dropping while breaking grass. I was just testing last night to see if I could use CraftTweaker (a continuation of MineTweaker3) to remove the plant fiber drops from breaking grass (I can't it's not registered as a seed) and I'm seeing the occasional rock when breaking grass in my test world.
I can run some test with all the other mods removed and see if I can duplicate that in a bit.
As for the delay in throwing rocks. I can see why you'd want to prevent that machine gun like action and agree. It really seems to be about 3-4 seconds though. Maybe it's just my setup.
Update: Just pulled all the mods except JEI and Realistic Survival. Spawned in some tall grass with bonemeal. Broke 20ish tall grass and I now have 2 granite rocks and 1 diorite rock (as well as some seeds and plant fibers). So assuming that's a bug...I'd like to change my original request to being able to turn off the plant fiber drops if you feel so inclined. =)
OK, I just realized what's happening, and it's definitely a bug. When I allowed for non-vanilla dirt and grass blocks to occasionally drop rocks, I did so by the simple expedient of looking to see if the block name included "dirt" or "grass." Of course, the block name "tall grass" includes "grass"....
Ugh.
OK, one more item on my "to do" list.

Well thanks for working on your ToDo list and sharing your work with us. I like the increased difficulty it adds early game and the fact that it works really well with some other mods. I'm using Rough Tweaks that turns off health regen. You have to craft salves and bandages to repair your health. Those require vines and your knives just so happen to allow collecting vines. I'm loving it. Plus those Dire Slimes (I think they are called that) from Ender Zoo when digging dirt blocks by hand makes getting rocks/flint for your first tools that much harder. I also used your leather strips in some recipes I added in. We can craft saddles now! =)
Funny, you mentioned using the leather strips for all of the vanilla tools and that's what I'm doing. I never liked that iron just magically stuck on a stick so I've tweaked all those recipes. Great mod, thanks again!

I never saw an iron pickaxe with a leather strip... I was thinking on that just last night, when I wondered why you don't touch the high tiers of tools..., but for knife and sword, some have a leather strip in their grip.
Right now I'm fighting with Crafting Harmonics... the mod allow (in theory, i can't add drop for biomes dirt) not only can change recipes, also can set drops... and many other tweaks.

You are right. I meant to reference the bone encrusted tools from the mod, which do require the leather strip when crafting.
I'm using CraftTweaker to remove the vanilla tool recipes and adding them with the leather strip requirement. Now if I could just turn off those plant fiber drops.....

Is the game (or this mod or another mod or forge or wathever, no idea about this) turns laggy, and you notice that mobs move in slow camera, rocks throwing has a great delay and some times, you even don't throw nothing, but the rock turns invisible in your inventory. I have a few mods running and that happened me once, and because of that, I had to removed some mods... but if he is mentioning it... maybe there is something... once can be casuality... but twice? I name it causality...

First of all... about your lag, the mobs moves well? or are you watching them in slow cam? they run like a hell when you approach? or do you can take your time for hit them with a hand? How many mods do you have? That's happened before or after install this or another mod? If you are like me... maybe you installed 2 or 5 mods at once... and you don't remember which was the first... hehehe... for that, I was uninstalling one by one, sorting them by priority for me.
And for patch the fiber drop... if you use the knife for cut grass, knife has silk touch and you can collect the grass, and then turn 4, or 2 or the number you want in fiber. Or try with me Crafting Harmony and help me to make it work for changing drops! hehehe.
I'm back with a new suggestion. I'm doing this:
Make a knife, cut some grass, and then with some grass in left hand, and the knife in the right... looking a block of dirt, press and hold right click (for planting the grass), and then clicking the left click for to harvest it... In my case (with the others mods) I still can't collect enough bone to make more advanced tools (creepers are a pain of ***)... so, I need a lot of cords for remake my basic tools. But I don't like do that... but the world where i'm has in the proximity just a few sand islands and a frozen plain... the grass is limited... and I'm thinking... if the grass were as crops? can be planted by a seed in a farmed land? will be more realistic (removing the posibility of take grass by the knife).
In the recipes I use this grass types:
biomesoplenty:plant_0:1, biomesoplenty:plant_0:3, biomesoplenty:plant_0:7, biomesoplenty:plant_0:8, biomesoplenty:plant_0:9, biomesoplenty:plant_1:0.
These are the more logicals grass for fiber... others for example are clovers (I dont remember his metadata), But I don't use it for fiber.

Hi! I found another bug XD... flint hoe is indestructible... when it down to 0... continues with -1,-2,-3...
Found some more tool interaction problems:-
I really like this mod but I have a question.
Am using the mod in version 10.2 and am following the youtube tutorial at
which tells me that I can create a flint axe for chopping trees by using a flint tool head, cord and a stick.
However I have not been able to create a flint axe with a flint tool head, cord and a stick.
Any suggestions in where I am going wrong as I have to go much further and create a stone axe using bone shards.
Flint axe is not a flint tool head, cord and stick... install JEI
Will this mod update to 1.12? Just wondering.
I'm a member of some of the mods below. Check them out.
