I just want to say thank you so much to everybody for being so supportive of this mod. I hoped that people would like it, and so far I've gotten a lot of really positive feedback and a lot of you have made some really great Youtube videos reviewing the mod. It really means a lot to me. <3 I plan on adding some of those Mod Review videos in a new post on this thread to say Thanks ^-^
Also, I'm currently working on a version 2 of the mod that will have a lot of improvements and possibly some new mobs and food stuff, so keep an eye out for that if you like the mod so far.
This is an early Beta version 2 of My Pet Sushi. It's been thoroughly tested, There may still be a few bugs and the spawn rates are still being tweaked, also I may decide to add more stuff to it. (if you try this out, let me know what you think. do you like it? want to see anything else?)
Spawn Eggs - Some people have been having a hard time finding the spawn eggs for the pets. Currently the spawn eggs are under the Lava Bucket tab in the Creative menu with all of the other Spawn Eggs. This is thanks to the way Minecraft coded the spawn egg system. However, I have changed the code to add spawn eggs in the My Pet Sushi tab as part of Version 2. So hopefully they'll be a lot easier to find after that gets released ^-^
All of the pets are Tamable with Raw Fish and all of them like Wasabi and Ginger.
*~ Kawaii Onigiri ~* - Loves Wasabi even though it burns his mouth
- Waddles when walking
*~ Prawn Crunchy Roll ~*
- Loves Wasabi and Ginger
- Likes pretending to be a slime
*~ Roller Sushi ~*
- Changes eye color for Wasabi and Ginger
- Life motto "If you ain't first, you're last"
*~ Shrimp Nigiri ~*
- Has a strange digestive system that magically changes Wasabi into diamonds whenever it eats enough
- Wags shrimpy tail and lays down when tamed
*~ Caterpillar Roll ~* - The Biggest of all the pets with multiple body segments and legs/antennae
- Also loves Wasabi like the Onigiri Pet
- Is happy to give piggy back rides when tamed
*~Chopsticks~*:
- So far only used for crafting the Sushi Platter. May have more uses later.
*~Hot Water~*:
- Used for Crafting Cooked Rice.
- I have a few more uses in mind for version 2 ^-^
*~Cooked Rice~*:
- Can be eaten by itself or used to craft Sushi for more food Saturation
- gives a little bit of Crafting XP for level 1
*~Onigiri~*:
- Gives more XP toward level 2 Crafting
- is super cute =P
*~Level 2 Crafting - Sushi Roll~*:
- Level 2 Crafting Sushi Roll. replenishes a little more hunger and food Saturation than the Onigiri
- Also gives more XP towards level 3 crafting
*~Crafting Level 3 - Wasabi and Ginger~*:
- Wasabi food item gives speed boost for 20 seconds
- Gives XP toward level 4 crafting
- You can eat this even if you're not hungry (version 1.2+)
- Ginger food item removes potion effects the way Milk does.
- Gives XP toward level 4 crafting
- You can eat this even if you're not hungry (version 1.2+)
*~Crafting Level 4 - Tuna Nigiri and Salmon Nigiri~*:
- super cute Tuna Nigiri sushi. gives XP towards level 5 crafting
- super cute Salmon Nigiri sushi. gives XP towards level 5 crafting
*~Crafting Level 5 - Sushi Platter~*:
- Level 5 crafting item. you can eat this even when you're not hungry (version 1.2+)
- replenishes 7.5 health and the most saturation of all the food items
- Has the same effect as a Golden Apple
- Adds 5 minutes of Night Vision (version 1.2+)
*~ Wasabi ~* *~ Ginger ~* *~ Rice ~* - Wasabi and Ginger can be found in the Farms of Villages.
- you can grow your own Wasabi and Ginger by planting the Wasabi Root and Ginger Root on Tilled Soil (just like wheat or carrots etc.)
- After you get to level 3 crafting, you can turn Wasabi root and Ginger root into Wasabi and Ginger.
- Uncooked Rice can be found by breaking Tall Grass, and you can plant it on Tilled soil, just like the other two crops to grow your own rice
*~ Seaweed ~* (The screenshot above was taken using Strum355's Sushi Shaders - link at the bottom of this post)
- Seaweed can now be found in the following Biomes:
Water
Swamp
Ocean
Beach
Forest
River
- You can also grow your own Seaweed by planting the Seaweed (Nori) item at least 2 blocks under water on Dirt, Sand or Gravel.
- Seaweed only grows up to 1 block under water, so plant it deeper in the water to grow your own seaweed farm! =)
- For each Seaweed block high it grows, you get one Seaweed (Nori) Similar to Reeds or Cactus
- For the Experience based Crafting, there's an XP bar at the top right that shows how far along you are in the current sushi crafting level. Also there's a bar of icons that show what sushi you can currently craft.
- In order to gain XP and go up in levels, you just have to craft more sushi! ^-^ (crafting one Sushi at a time gives more XP than crafting a stack at a time)
- Also, you can turn the Skilled Crafting off all together in the Config file if you want. Or you can disable the XP bar or the Sushi Icons if you want.
// Change any of the below from "true" to "false" in the mypetsushi config file to disable
general {
B:EnableSushiSkilledCrafting=true
B:ShowSushiSkillIcons=true
B:ShowSushiSkillXPBar=true
}
Also, I'd like to say a big thanks to Victoriarghhh for her helpful feedback and suggestions while I was working on this mod. If you guys like My Pet Sushi, go Check out her Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/victoriarghhhofficial and tell her I said hi ^-^. She makes adorable videos about Minecraft and other fun games.

I've yet to download it but I've seen the videos and I'm stoked to use this in my personal adventure time modpack. I'm gonna be so cool with my sushi roll caterpillar sidekick! Great job on the models and animations, can't wait to see this catch on.

Thank you, that's very nice of you to say. ^.^ Let me know if you run into any conflicts with this mod or if you need me to change something to make it work with your mod pack.
Check out Victoriarghhh's Mod Spotlight in the first post above! <3
Also, I released a version 1.2 with some bug fixes and general improvements to make the mod a little bit better and easier to use. (notes in the first post as well)
You may want to check this mod's compatibility with the following: Lots O' Mobs, CultureCraft, Plants Megapack and Sushicraft as they also add in the world generation items similar to yours; specially the seaweed. Nonetheless, cool mod!
P.S: Sadly the modder of Plant MegaPack retired so you may want to warn users if any incompatibility may arise from the interactions between the two mods.

Thanks! Ahh yeah, good call. I want to work on adding compatibility for some other mods especially for things like seaweed and rice, but I haven't had the time to do it yet. This is really a first version as I have a white board covered with tasks that I need to do, but it may be a few months before I can get a version 2.0 released.
Let me know if you have any specific compatibility issues and maybe I can work on a fix for some/all of them as another 1.x version.
Hi everybody, I'm not sure how many of you have downloaded version 1.2 from this website or from PlanetMinecraft, but in case you did and you're wondering what went wrong, here's what happened. right before I built version 1.2 to put it up for download, I moved a line of code and thought it would be safe to not test afterward. Apparently I was wrong.
The pet taming functionality was broken in version 1.2 -- you could keep feeding them fish, but you could never tame them. I just spent the last 4 hours figuring out what happened, correcting the problem and testing the changes in my development environment and in my actual minecraft installation.
The problem should be fixed, so I've put the new version 1.2.1 up for download, but I've also left the original version 1 in the first post above. version 1 is the version Victoria was playing in her video, but version 1.2.1 should have the improvements I mentioned above.
I sincerely apologize if you downloaded the new version (1.2) and weren't able to tame any pets. It was a stupid mistake on my part, and I'm pretty mad at myself for it.
Here's a couple of videos of Youtubers reviewing or using the My Pet Sushi Mod in several different languages (I only speak english, so they may or may not all be positive reviews =P)
Thank you everybody for Taking the time to try the mod ^-^ (Let me know if you want me to remove your video or if you made one that I missed and you want me to add it here)

Here's a test video I did for the Onigiri about a month after I started working on this mod. The wasabi looks a lot better now imo.
Has anybody downloaded this mod? let me know what you think. Do you like it? do you think it's dumb?
Thank you =)

The pets, the crops, and the sushi look amazing. I like farming so I am definitely getting this mod for the crops, and to make me some sushi.
Thank you I'm glad you like them. ^-^
Here's a preview of the new Crab mob from My Pet Sushi version 2 (currently in development):
No way!!! That crab is awesome. That'll go well with any ocean mods too.
