there are mods that allow you to make spawners for any mob, plus a cage could just be some blocks iron bars for example. Obviously its against the druidic philosophy but people like automating things and will almost always find a way to automate something. Especially if they wanted to cover their base with raven lanterns for example. Alot of players shove like 50 chickens in a single block space above a hopper to collect eggs it would be no different then that.
What if they either naturally despawn after a certain period of time, or forcibly despawn if range of movement is limited too much? Either let them fly free, or make a big enough enclosure.

you can prevent despawns by naming it with a name tag, and with a spawner thats not too much of an issue anyway as its unlikely that they'd despawn straight away, it would probably need to check how many ravens are in a specific chunk to despawn one, regardless there are ways around the despawning issue for anyone who insists on keeping the birds in a small space, personally i'd like to thave them flying around a large enclosure.
Seeing an odd issue. Running version druidry(2016.9.26)(1.9.4).jar on a 1.10.2 Forge Server (forge version 1.10.2-12.18.-2114) and it seems to break the /help command on the server. The client /help works fine, but on the server it is generating a class cast exception:

Since this mod inspired me to read up on Druid lore, I came up with some ideas that are in line with its theme. I'd do it myself but my modding skills are so bad I'd probably set my laptop on fire just from attempting this. Anyways, just wanted to share my ideas:
- Raven - seen as a messenger between worlds. Therefore it will occasionally spawn from a Nether Portal. Killing one is bad luck (you lose hearts when you hit one). However, it will sometimes drop black feathers on their own. The feathers are infused with glowstone (imagine the glowstone dust from the Nether getting naturally caught up in them) that can be used to craft a "raven's lantern".
- Raven's Feather - Can only be obtained by raven's shedding them. Killing them will not result in obtaining a feather, nor meat. This is because they are magical creatures and it is bad luck to kill them.
- Raven's Lantern - Crafted with 4 raven's feathers in a diamond shape. Creates a black, feathery sphere that emits light at the level of glowstone.
- Raven's Rope - Crafted with 3 raven's feathers, placed vertically on a crafting table. Provides 3 1-block tall ropes. These ropes are thin and black, can be attached to solid objects from below to be used to hang Raven's Lanterns.
That's really really cool that our mod inspired you to read up on Druid lore! =) and yeah, these ideas are awesome, I'm definitely going to put these on to the todo list and maybe we'll eventually get to them, thank you. I've definitely wanted ravens for a while I think and these are great to go along with them.
I've added Druidry to my personal 1.7.10 mod pack and so far, I really love it! No longer do I have to worry about crafting all my wooden planks into sticks on accident since I now have a near endless supply of them, and the Alex zombies look great! I also stumbled across a Unicorn and squealed with delight when I did. It's labeled as a horse when I hover over it, but are they capable of breeding with Minecraft horses?
Also, I have discovered the Fay Wand. That thing is too much power for a cat lover to have, so after nearly crashing my game from overusing it, it has been safely put away in its own chest.
Anyway, I love the mod so far, and I really hope to see you continue to do an awesome job! I'd love to see more!
Hey! Thank you for enjoying the mod. Unicorns don't seem to be able to breed with vanilla horses after testing. lol, the Fay Wand is basically my favorite item >.>
I should probably report here that feeding chickens does not cause them to drop feathers, as the re-added features list suggests. Other than that, I've been wanting to try out this mod for a long time and finally got around to it tonight. Loving it so far.
Hmm, we will look into that, thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the mod!
I really like this mod; it's nice to see something that isn't post-endgame and is well-integrated with itself. :-)
That said, I am using it with a bunch of other mods, and I was wondering if there was a way to turn off just one recipe in the crafting. The fried egg recipe overrides Eggy Goodness, which uses a straight cooked egg as the basis for several other recipes. :-(
Thanks! Yeah we've seen a few Minetweaker files that disable that too, lots of mods seem to do that already! We can look into adding an official config option.

That's weird! We will look into this issue too, thanks for the report.
Frankly? I like the look of this mod so far but I'm having trouble getting it loaded and running properly. I can punch a block and get an effect similar to block lag on a server. It'll disappear and then reappear and I have to sit on a dropped item for a few seconds before I can pick it up. Mobs will freeze and not move beyond one step every so often. I'm going to do a run through my current mods and see if I can figure out if it's just reacting to one and I'll be sure to let you know which it is.

Does anyone have any suggestions for naturalist-playthrough suggestions? I'm considering never harming a peaceful mob or cutting down any trees, since this mod makes that possible, but what are some other reasonable/lore-friendly challenges? I'm currently not sure how I feel about mining, but I don't think I can get by without that.
Actually...I have aquaculture in my little selection of mods. (Little...HAH!) With aquaculture there's actually a fair chunk of things you can get without mining. It's spasmodic and unreliable for something CONSISTENT, but it does give you chances at iron, gold, diamond and other things. There's also the birds nest mod which gives trees a chance of dropping nests which have a few shiny bits and bobs, eggs, feathers, etc.
But yeah. You could give one of those a shot if you'd like. Personally I think they supplement this mod well.
This is with druidry(2016.9.26)(1.9.4) and forge 2185. At first I thought it was a dimenional ID conflict but I've removed all other mods and I'm still seeing this crash.
Hi Just to say that we love this mod on our server; you've done some great stuff here! Was wondering if there's any plans for more Samhain stuff or just spooky additions in general? I love the Halloween-y vibe... pumpkins, scarecrows, all lovely.
So what are the thistle and cleansing torch for? And one of the pics on the first page looks to be a campfire, can we craft that? And are the little stone archways from this mod?
Also, I found the axe. Amazing! I couldn't stop laughing.
Just popping in to see if this mod is still in development. There are a lot of great things (both in the current build and suggestions in the thread) and it would be great to continue watching this mod grow ^-^
Hey! Loving the mod so far! I always play Wizards so it's right down my alley! I looked on the forums here and I didn't see the secret boss monster mentioned, and I really don't wanna spoil it for peeps, but I'm not sure if this is the right secret monster. Does it begin with an S and remind me of a sibling? If so, how do I disable it? Haha. My wife and I play and he pops up like every night. We've gotten tired of seeing the constant boss bar. Is there any way to rid ourselves of this heinous evildoer? Or are we stuck with em? We're playing on 1.7.10, by the way. Anyway, thanks so much for all you do!

I don't see a link to an issue tracker so I'm posting here.
I'm getting a crash when the mod tries to register dimensions. http://pastebin.com/ukLZ5cBL

Awesomeness! I think I'm gonna have to make an ultimate carebear modpack with this and the Vegan Option in it.

the 1.10 version, does placing milk bowls attract fairies properly? Might I be doing it wrong?
okay, just as a bump, I've done quite a bit of testing, and the final behavior is just really, really... strange.
NVM
I figured it out and is now working fine
Help
I barely got back into minecraft and thought I'd try out your mod. However....every time I place it in my mods folder and start up
minecraft it does not show up. It is not in the mods list and i can not find any of the items in the items list either. I am running
1.7.10 using MultiMc. Is there a certain forge version I need to use or some special way to load it?
Here is the list of Mods I'm using
