The temperature part of the mod needs significant adjustments. The way it works now, it seems like you're an ectotherm. Body temperature just swings back and forth, rather than being maintained through one of the best cooling systems in extant mammals. Players really need to more resist temperature swings natively.
Things that should definitely help maintain temperature, but don't
-swimming in lava
-standing in a field of flaming netherrack(or other numerous flame sources)
-being in a fully-enclosed space
-being deep underground
-drinking various liquids (you've already got juices and water for it)
-eating food/being fully fed
-physical activity/general hunger loss
Being overheated isn't so much of an irrational annoyance, and you can deal with it relatively easily. But cold is just so boring and unfun to manage. No thermal effect of eating, running around massacring a forest doesn't work some heat up, a bank of furnaces running through stacks of ores may as well be microwaves. Just sit by a campfire in leather or wool armor and hope the biome doesn't have a temperature so low that you die from hypothermia anyway.
I am fully aware that this could make heat the annoying one. If that's unavoidable(and I don't think it is), that's fine. Nobody ever had to stop the drills and bring the miners up because they were too cold, so err on the side of realism.
I second this, actually.
I also find that setting yourself on fire doesn't raise your temperature at all.
What is the spawn rate for the lifeforce crystals in nether chests? I've gone through 2 fortresses and opened dozens of chests, but I've yet to find one.
On the plus side, I have ungodly amounts of saddles and horse armor.
Seasons should be configurable. It seems like 3 days for each? Through those days, I can sit in my comfy room, wait for the end of the winter, and I don't even need to eat.

Dying carries a lot of status effects to your next life such as Hyperthermia and thirst.[/header]
So I fell in lava and died to hyperthermia. When I respawned, I still had hyperthermia status for a full 1:30 and died again. Also, thirst status carries over from death.

I support this heavily.
I first played the mod without reading up on the mechanics, and was fully expecting that standing near a flaming furnace will heat me up. After that failed, I tried starting a fire with flint and steel, but that did not work either. It's really counter-intuitive.

Seconded; but I'm guessing they're already addressing these issues (hopefully). There's a github link somewhere on the first page where they have all the issues listed and stuff. Then again, I could be wrong. x.x
I'd love it if we could configure season length too. (Again, they stated that they'd address that in future from what I know).
Can you please make it possible to toggle in the config each of the features? For example, I love the idea of seasons, but thirst and temperature would likely not work well with other realistic survival mods working on similar principles.

As the above stated, you can already toggle off thirst and body temp.
Is there a way to make seasons last longer? As fun as it is, I seem to be passing through a year in like.... 2 hours. lol
I'd rather it be more like the Don't starve length of time of a year.

Would appreciate this option as well. Having to stock up on food before the impending winter isn't so bad when it lasts 30 minutes. .
Fun mod by the way. The seasons changes are very nicely done

I've seen plenty of "Seasons" mods and I'm not joking when I say every single one crashes my game and about every comment in the mod topic is "It crashes my game!", so this mod is practically the only one that works, lol.
Not only that, but it does the job amazingly, I mean I'd pick this mod over any other thirst/seasons mod even if they didn't crash my game.
Also, as a slight silly suggestion.
A fun item would be to implement a calendar, I know you have the season clock, but I think a calendar would be cool to mark special events like if during the December part of the year Santa came or October would have a Halloween event and stuff.
I know it sounds more like Animal Crossing than survival, but I think it'd be a fun cute idea, even if it were just an add-on.

Did you tried Harvest Festival mod? It shows the day of the season, and will have events and maybe holidays.
And one more thing: did you give enough memory to the game? It can cause crash.
I second this, actually.
I also find that setting yourself on fire doesn't raise your temperature at all.

3* fortresses, and no crystals.
Im loving this mod so far! However Temperature can be really annoying especially for me since I really like desert biomes
I think the rate at which you cool off in water is way too slow and i often end up drowning from heat damage.
Also there aren't many early game options for lowering temperature. I honestly feel like drinking water should slightly lower temperature.
another cool idea would be to have a soaked turban or headwrap thatll lower temperature.
.

Cool mod, but I agree the seasons are too short, maybe a config option to change the lengths of the seasons or something.
I agree with the above suggestion posts, namely the option to configure season length. That would be amazing. :3
Posted this as an issue in the Github.
Dying carries a lot of status effects to your next life such as Hyperthermia and thirst.[/header]
So I fell in lava and died to hyperthermia. When I respawned, I still had hyperthermia status for a full 1:30 and died again. Also, thirst status carries over from death.
I believe these things need to be fixed. Thanks!
any chance you could add oxygen lvl?
love the mod keep up the great work!
You already can....
As the above stated, you can already toggle off thirst and body temp.
Is there a way to make seasons last longer? As fun as it is, I seem to be passing through a year in like.... 2 hours. lol
I'd rather it be more like the Don't starve length of time of a year.
Can you make TAN compatible with Harvest Festival seasons?
