Current Version: 4.1.0 for Minecraft 1.12.2; 3.6.0 for Minecraft 1.11.2
What is it?
In previous versions of Minecraft, I really enjoyed the Nether Ores mod that was included in most modpacks. Sadly since we all have to update eventually, my friends and I have began playing with 1.8.9 and grabbing all the mods we've found updated. Unfortunately the original Nether Ores hasn't been updated, and since I'd been playing with modding anyway, I decided why not fill in the gap!
What does it do?
First and foremost it changes the vanilla ore spawns in the overworld. The vanilla ores are completely blocked from spawning naturally, and instead are loaded in, in a custom way: They're more spaced out with a lower frequency, but when you DO find them, they have a larger vein size, meaning a lot more of what you DO find.
Ores also generate in the Nether, as well as the End, at any height! They have a higher than vanilla frequency but come with greater challenge due to their location.
Requires the recommended version of Minecraft Forge or newer. With forge installed, it's as simple as dropping into the "mods" folder and enjoying!
Support:
Moving forward, new features will be coming to the 1.11.2* version only.
*When 1.13 is released, support for 1.11.2 will be dropped

you don't really need to update though, you can always try to bring the future back to you >.<
Nice mod either way though, but I shall not use it due to still using 1.7.10 for my modpacks and such. (better AIs and features mapmakers and other tidbits not included.)

Thanks! Yeah, updating was a hard decision, especially with most of my favorite mods having no mention of updating any time soon. I mean, for example if a mod existed that gave some of the newer updates like clicking and dragging blocks and such, I'd still be playing the original Tekkit. (1.2.5 was good times for mods... *sigh*)

Clicking and dragging? One thing i not sure of what you mean.
Yeah, I still haven't managed to say goodbye myself. I'm still currently actively playing Revenge of the C-Team with a friend, which is 1.7.10. But I'm also enjoying the newer versions, and am really excited for 1.11 too.
Wow, this mod is long overdue, glad to see a new mod suited to the needs of the modding community. My question is, does it support Thermal Foundation/Expansion? Also you should add an option in the config that makes pigmen target you for mining ores in the nether.
Thanks for the support, and sorry for the late reply.
As of the most recent version (3.6.0 for 1.11.2/4.1.0 for 1.12.2), released today: 16 December 2017, it now currently supports ores from:
Forestry
Immersive Engineering
IndustrialCraft2
Thermal Foundation
Tech Reborn
Mekanism
Tinker's Construct
It also has a config for both Pigmen to attack you for mining in the Nether, as well as Endermen attacking you for mining in the End. The range in which they notice is adjustable in the configs as well.

Check out my modpack if you are looking for a tough modpack, though its still having stuff changed here and there: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/deadly-encounters
Also using agricraft and pam's harvestcraft and want to fix the sesame seed issue? I know how to check my bio for link to see how to fix it.

I still go back to 1.7.10 packs at times since not all mods are ported and the easy fact that forge 1.10 isn't as optimized as it can be
