Irish Luck is a Mod that aim to bring you blocks full of luck (or not) adding to the game random drops/spawns/structures when the block is broken.
The idea isn't a new idea, we all know that. So why would you use this Mod over others out there that do kinda the same. Well, it's in your hand to try them and choose the one you like more, I'm just adding a new option here.
Here I will be adding FAQ as they are needed. (Reflects things on 1.7.10, some things may be missing on the 1.9 version)
Q: What the mod actually do?
A: Once you craft an "Irish Luck" Block, you place it down, and when you break it, many things can happen. From random items/blocks drops (Drops include special kits and custom items.) to custom structures spawning on the World, been either traps that will try to kill you, and rewards of random valuable (sometimes) blocks. It can spawn passive animals, as well as aggressive mobs. You can also get special mobs that are highly equipped with enchanted armor and weapons.
Q: Is this just one of those "Re-Textured" Lucky Block Mods?
A: Not at all, this is a brand new mod write from scratch. Even when it share some similarities with Lucky Blocks just for the nature of what it does, everything in this mod is new.
Q: How random the rewards are?
A: Rewards are random in the way they are picked, the chances of the different rewards happening are set by hand, so that can (and for sure will) be tuned once I get more feedback.
Q: I'm tired of similar Mods where the drops/structures are always the same, will that happen also with Irish Luck?
A: On the first stage I would say yes, but I'm planning on adding more and more structures, as for now, with over 10 structures and some of them been random on the blocks used to build them, I think the variety you get is not bad. (You judge once the download is up)
Q: Does the Mod support custom configs?
A: Version 0.0.8 does. Still working on a better system, but you can already add some custom items, blocks and mobs.
Q: Does the Mod adds drops/mobs from third party mods?
A: No at this stage, but it's planned for the future.
Q: Can I make a review of this Mod for YouTube?
A: Sure I would love that, and please post it here so we can check it. Also, if you want to make an "Irish Luck" Race as the one you see in the video, you can get the Irish Block Race Builder with the command "/give xxx IrishLuck:blockIrishLuckRaceOne" (Where xxx is your ingame name) Be careful with this block, it's one with Red Corners and once you place it, it will create the Race Course facing East when you break it. (Use it better on flat worlds) Since version 0.0.8 blockIrishLuckRaceTwo is also available.
Q: Can I use this Mod for a private pack (Single Player / Multiplayer Server)?
A: Sure, you are free to use it and have fun on your Single Player World or even on a Private Server. (Careful when using on Servers, the mod needs more testing on this area)
Q: Can I distribute this Mod on a Public Pack?
A: Sure, you can add this Mod to your ModPack, but please leave a comment on this theard, or send me a private message to know in what ModPack it's been added.
Q: Can I change the recipe for the "Clover" and/or for the "Irish Luck" Block?
A: No, you can't change the recipe, the Mod doesn't has a config to do so, and it wont have for now. You are not allowed to change the recipe using third party mods neither. (If you need a recipe change for any reason, please let me know posting in this forum or sending a private message to see why you need a different recipe and maybe I can add that to a config on the mod) If you asking why... Well, I think on the recipe for items/blocks on a Mod as a "Child" for developers in general. I agree some type of ModPacks have the necessity to change recipes sometimes, but I also think Mod Developers have the right to ask ModPack Developers to keep recipes unchanged. That's the boat I'm on so yes, keep recipe as it is. Thanks. You
can however disable the recipes if you want them to be only found on Loot chests, or maybe you going to give them as rewards on your ModPack.
Q: Does "Irish Luck" Blocks spawn on World Generation?
A: Yes. Since newer versions, there is a config that makes Irish Luck Blocks spawn in world gen chests (Dungeons, Mineshafts and so on)
Q: Can I add the "Irish Luck" Blocks to the World Gen using third party mods?
A: (Read previous question, but this one also applies) Sure, if the third party mod allows you to do so, feel free to add "Irish Luck" Blocks to the World Gen.
Q: Your grammar is weird, where you from?
A: I try my best, I'm from Argentina, so my English isn't the best. (Got any correction/suggestion to make the grammar better, just let me know in the comments)
Q: Are you Irish? Are you American (From USA)?
A: No, I am indeed American (America the Continent) more specific from Argentina (South America) Yes, Tango, Gardel, Maradona and The Pope
Francisco
Q: I have some ideas for your mod, are you interested?
A: Sure I would love to hear some ideas, send them on a Private Message, or just post them as a comment to this post.
