Heya Don, long time no see! How have you been? I come bearing the same crash log as the gentleman above me, but conveniently more concise:

I am just going to say this once more, and once more only.
IF YOU ARE CRASHING WHEN SELECTING A JOYSTICK IN 7.1.2 PLEASE READ!!!
Here is what's happening when you select a joystick: When you click a joystick button MFS attempts to get the previously selected joystick and compare it with the joystick you just clicked. It does this to know if it needs to wipe the joystick controls because you selected a different joystick, or if it should keep the same controls because the joystick you selected was the same. The crash occurs when you have never selected a joystick previously. This causes MFS to try to compare a joystick to nothing, which it doesn't handle well.
So, in order to use a joystick in V7 you need to have previously selected a joystick. How might you do this? Simply grab a V6 version and select a joystick there. Then go back to V7 and configure your joystick there. I repeat: configure a joystick button in V6, then go to V7. I will NOT help anyone with this problem unless they specifically mention they read post 876! I don't want to be a stick-in-the-mud, but I'm tired of answering the same question again and again.
That being said, this issue, and the fuel issue, will be fixed in V8 when it comes out. When will that be? No clue. Don't ask.
As I mentioned, I did in fact try using the config file from the old version with the joystick already set up. It was ineffective.
While we're on the topic of bugs that are already known, do I need to take a video of my plane literally flying through the ground into a cave, sliding up and down trees, and hanging tail-up from vines, or is this something being worked on as well?

Which old version did you use? I had another user come to me for help trying to use V5. Turns out the V5 config jump isn't workable and we needed to use V6. Your case may differ, however.
A teleportation video would be helpful. Not sure what you mean by the vines, though. I haven't heard anything about those messing up planes... There's a few odd bugs that only specific people seem to be getting, like the one where the wheels of the plane get stuck in the ground. Not sure if your bug is in the same vein or not.
By the way, welcome back! I'm guessing real-life was crazy these past few months?
controller issues are known. they are being worked on. as far as the fuel issue, have you looked in your config file? the fuel settings may have been messed up.
NOTICE: ALL DEVELOPMENT IS ON HOLD, AND UPDATES ARE ON HIATUS, UNTIL A SECOND (OR THIRD) CODER JOINS THE MFS TEAM. I HAVE LIMITED TIME AND WILL NOT SPEND IT ON MFS UNLESS OTHER PEOPLE WISH TO DO SO AS WELL. I ALSO CANNOT INDEFINITELY MAINTAIN UPDATES, AND WANT A FUTURE FOR MFS.
That being said, I have been hard at work coding many things for MTS. Yes, I said MTS. As in Minecraft Transport Simulator. Over 80% of the code has been re-worked, and MTS is close to being release-able, but due to new time constraints and burnout I am unable to finish what I have started. What did I start? Check the screenies.

If you are interested in seeing this mod continue, or contributing to it, please message me on Discord, as I do not check this forum often. However, please do not come to me unless you want to help. Offers are all well and good, but I'm tired of people saying that they want to help but then doing nothing. That's worse than just not offering....
This is a new system. The RoW system was too inflexible and restrictive for me to do what I wanted with it. It was also coded in a such a way as to prevent some features that I felt were lacking. I actually have the track rendering and placement 100% done. It's just the entity physics and track following that are lacking now.

I believe the reason that that trains has no wheels is because as don_bruce has stated he hasn't yet completed the rail tracking. The wheels would follow the track precisely while the carts of the train followed the pivot points above the wheels. The wheels there for would have to be a separate model in order to allow for the movement that the cart itself will not have to make.

Wait… what!? MTS *cough* - MFS is getting TRAINS!? SINCE WHEN WAS THIS HAPPENING WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME.
Also this is the first mod I've seen that's making North American standard modern locomotives. Kudos to you for that and whoever your modeller is.

Sneak-Attack. Make sure you attack a bounding box.
Just and FYI, I made a change to the OP. Might want to look at it.
Can i use this in my modpack
