There is no extra debug information or anything like that, not sure what would cause that.. Does the config have bits enabled? Does it work properly in an SMP game with the same instance?

The SMP server has exactly the same mods, and a world that was generated maybe 8 hours ago. The configs are the same on the client and server, singleplayer does function. multiplayer does not.
Yes the multiplayer instance and the single player instance are the same. I join multiplayer, it doesn't work, then without exiting the game, I go into singleplayer and it works fine.
-edit-
I just pushed server and client to forge 1715, no change. And yes the bits are enabled, in fact the file is in it's autogenerated form, one of the things I did to try to fix this was remove and allow the config files to be regenerated.
-upkeep-
I believe I've isolated it to something in the world directory, new server instance, same mods, new world, worked fine, I've moved the old server world out of the way and am restarting the original server now.
-confirmed-
whatever it was was world specific, clean world and it's working fine, I'll advise if it returns, just in case something got corrupted. but at this point there's no guarentee it's anything you did, thanks for listening though
I just stopped by to say that this mod is.. amazing. I don't know how I was satisfied with my building options until now but I don't think I'll ever be able to play without this mod again (for better or worse). I just finished spending an exorbitant amount of time making a scale model of my village on a sandstone table and it is awesome. You, sir, have won the internets.

Loving this mod a ton!!! Made some awesome stuff and in my escapades, I have decided that having a way to quickly remove bits from a bag would be an excellent addition. Are there any plans for something like that? It would be most helpful for when I chisel 10 whole blocks just to realize I don't want to use that block
A great way to get rid of bits from your bag, would be to just place them back down, So with a bit in hand hold "Alt Or the radial button keybind" and select, something like plane, or 1/2 cube snap mode, and place them back into the blocks that you originally chiseled.
I don't know if this is useful for you either.. but I've started making little 'palettes' of blocks that I want to use near where I'm building and I just take off like a plane or two at a time and if I need more, I come back and take more. I've found it to be pretty functional and haven't had to worry about inventory stuff really.
I decided, as a test of C&B's (and my computer's) functionality, to build some Menger sponges. (In short terms: recursive boxes with holes in them.) I actually got up to partway through the 4th iteration before my computer literally did not have the memory or processing power to tesselate?/render lighting updates ingame, causing it to slow to a crawl when I placed any sort of bit or block. Here comes math! For reference, the 3rd iteration (the last complete one) contains 8000voxels. The fourth would have contained 1.6 x 105.
We've been doing some similar tests in #JEI ( just enough items channel ) on Esper.net (irc)
Mandelbrot Fractle
Note the entirely world is a single layer of Chiseled Wool/FlatColoredBlocks, above bedrock.
This test actually has issues running because of MC's TileEntity Code, when chunks load/unload it causes pausing with more 120,000 tile entities or so..
wlhlm in the IRC Channel generated it with the new API I added in C&B 1.8 ( think he used height-maps from a website )
With that said, I can't recommend doing this in practice, since it the models are extremely complex, and MC isn't designed for such detailed models on a consistent basis.
You can use C&B with other MCMulitpart Compatible mods, for instance charset, I can't say anything in particular about mods that don't have support for MCMP yet however, but if other mods continue to add support for MCMP then you can use C&B with them as long as the everything is implemented properly, I have no idea if mods that are porting to 1.8 plan to add support for MCMP, its up to them..
Other mods that currently support MCMP are here, and here. I've not personally tested these mods, but they should work together if the API is used properly.
Oh hey. Since I just noticed this thread, I figured I might as well share something I've been working on: Furniture. Like, really detailed furniture. http://imgur.com/a/b4cai
Blocks used are Greatwood Planks, Green Wool, Brass Blocks, and Ancient Rock. Not sure how much I like the Ancient Rock as a surface texture, but it does make great stairs (which I intentionally didn't screenshot, since they're not finished).
Also, small bug, when I tried to "round out" the corners of the green wool, and fill in the holes I made with greatwood bits, the prop snapped back to square edges when I added something new. Not sure if I'm explaining that entirely well. I was using the Drawn Region setting, and did in fact try it using just my creative bit and the chisel in survival.

Oh, nice! I love Thaumcraft-themed furniture-- you should keep a running album for your creations and add more to it, I love seeing the intricate designs people come up with.

I know that it is not out yet and that you have not the rights to mess around in that direction per say.
But I really enjoy Terafirmacraft 1 and with 2 there will not be any chisel or micro blocks. Could you make this compatible so we can simply use your far more complex mod and still enjoy the customization of micro blocks in the updated mod.

Thanks for reporting back, if you you figure out what it was exactly let me know just kinda curious what was wrong.

Heh, thanks. Glad you having fun with it.
Feel free to share anything you have created if you want too, its cool to see what people are making with it.

Somehow that never crossed my mind...... Hahaha well thank you for that idea

These tests have been resulting in some interesting optimizations for C&B 1.9
How'd you create that micro terrain, exactly?

I thought I would share what I'm currently working on, http://imgur.com/a/fl7Q7 ... In the silliest manner I could come up with.
If you couldn't guess from the pictures, its fluid bits.
Finally, the cups I create can be filled with water. (and/or raw sewage)

Very nice man.

can this mod be compatible with Terafirmacraft 2.
