Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I've looked through the thread -and every online reference to your wonderful mod I could find- and cannot see instructions for how to craft the materials bag. Does your mod have a wiki or guide somewhere? Thanks!
You can download JEI then learn any and all kinds of recipes.
If you don't need JEI anymore just remove the mod and its associated config.

JEI doesn't display any recipe for the Materials Bag at all.
And several recipes are not working properly because the mod recipe dosn't override the vanilla one.
In vanilla if you put any sandstone (regular, smooth, chiseled) in for a vanilla sandstone slab or stair recipe you only get the regular sandstone verint. So you cant get smooth or chiseled stairs or slabs.

More crafting problems (minecraft 1.8.9):
No matter what stone variant you use (diorite, granite, andesite) when you try to make steps or corners it will only make the polished granite variant.
I'm having trouble with horizontal slabs (regular vanilla ones, like spruce plank slabs, made with the vanilla recipe). I made horizontal slabs, but I can only place one or two before they only place as vertical slabs. That's very frustrating. Is there something I can do to stop the mod from trying to convert my horizontal slabs to vertical ones? I can't build my roof like this - I might as well just use full blocks.

Probably a little late, perhaps you've figured this out.
When you're trying to place horizontal slabs you need to point your cursor at the very TOP of the side you want to place the horizontal slab. Pointing it closer to the middle (or pretty much anywhere that isn't near the top) results in the vertical slab being placed.
I'm still playing around with when you're placing vertical slabs because they keep trying to go horizontal if you're not facing directly on top.
It seems to me that the placement of the slabs needs a rethink as it's really only made placing slabs more error prone/frustration filled than it already was.
i absolutely love this mod! in a future update/ version I was thinking a slab that has a 90 degree angle would be helpful as well. or if we could place the steps and corners to make the 90 degree shape even. just an idea.

I can't see the crash reports, but if you mean the crash with tconstruct, that's fixed in the latest version.
1.10.2-2.0.13:
* Fix crash when opening the trowel on the off-hand and the main hand is empty, fixes #91.
* Fix crash when using the numpad keybindings, fixes #92.
* Fix loading crash when run with tinkers construct, fixes #95.
Would it be possible to add a preview when placing a slab? I think this would be useful in making it a little less frustrating in trying to figure out which direction the slab will face.
I can't seem to get the /material command to work. How do you use it? I tried looking through the files on github, but I couldn't find the proper arguments for the command. The command doesn't even show up if I type /help, either. Noir does /help material d anything. Please help me! There are some blocks from Railcraft that used to have stairs, slabs, and walls but no longer do, and I was hoping to use the /material command to add them myself (as well as blocks from simple upgrades, base metals, modern metals, and tinkers' construct), but I can't add them! (I'd create the .json files manually, but I can't find the hardness and resistance of those blocks anywhere.)

There appears to be an issue with Grass slabs when playing on a server. (In Single player, this issue is not present)
When you break a half slab, it becomes an unrecognized block. Purple/ black checkerboard
It doesn't matter how you break it, punching, shovel, etc.
Same config file, and resource pack in single player and this problem isn't present.
Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it?
move to 1.10.2? not trying to be a butt honestly is there a reason you are still on 1.8? im just curious like i said not really trying to make this should like im being a butt......

Hi there!
I host a server for my friends to play on in creative mode, and one of them was having a problem with the slabs placing vertically etc. when he didn't want them to. I forgot that this was the mod that brought grass slabs into world gen, and disabled the mod. All was well, until I noticed some harsh shadows in certain areas of my grass. Destroying and replacing or just placing a block fixed this issue. It wasn't until later I realized that this is likely due to where the generated grass slabs used to be.
I enjoyed the look of the slabs smoothing out grassy hills, so I moved the mod back into the mods folder. Unfortunately, the grass slabs aren't generating unless I worldedit an area and //regen it. Now I'm fine with this in theory, but unfortunately doing this everywhere would destroy all of our buildings. And frankly, it would be impossible to pull off. Is there any way to get the slabs back into the already generated and built upon world without going in and placing them, or manually worldedit selecting areas and //regen?
Secondly, is there any way to disable or adjust how slabs are placed, so they don't rotate vertically unless desired? I know how to place them so they don't rotate, but I was receiving complaints about how it's a bit difficult to do that when people are placing floating slabs / building whole sections of a structure with slab. I know this isn't a huge problem in the grand scheme of things, and honestly a petty issue, however I want everyone who is playing to have fun and a good time, and not have to fight with slab rotation just because I like pretty grass hills.
Is there possibly a way to implement a setting in the config that would disable placement of vertical slabs, in a future release?
Lastly, suddenly the grass texture is going half way down the block, and the generated slabs are 100% grass. When I first installed the mod, this wasn't an issue and it's only happening on my computer and not on anyone else's. Can I fix this?
Here is a link to some ingur pictures displaying the harsh shadows, worldedit regenned slabs, as well as the texture thing that bothers me: http://imgur.com/a/1e30g
Sorry to complain about small issues, and thank you for a great mod and all of your support you give it and the community.

In the config file, there are lines "enableGenerateVertical_slab" and "replaceGrassTexture". Try setting these to false instead of true.

That seemed to work when I did it on both the server and my client side config. Thank you. Toggling the setting to false inside of MC in the Mod Options did not work for either setting.
Edit: Okay thank you again! I have solved all of my problems thanks to that.

I think the Recipe API needs to be tweeked.

Hey!
It seems you doesn't really update your mod, but these half slabs are great. Won't you make more slabs and make them generated?
