A question! I created a world with the last mod version [from the previous author]. Is it compatible with it [you just tweak it] or did you build it from scratch again? [Forgive my ignorance, but I want to make sure I don't lose another world]. Furthermore, since I see you add "running rivers", is it compatible with "Streams" mod?
Update: Read the whole forum. Solved the question. Guess I will have to make another world...this will be my 9th
Wow, thanks for testing all of those mods. Nice to see Oceancraft and Mariculture in that list.
Hmm, I haven't seen that yet (though to be fair I haven't really been looking for it). In what biome(s) is this happening? Is it just Deep Ocean, or can it happen in any biome?
I'm pretty sure that's a RWG/RTG feature. It's to more or less represent trenches I believe? Really, really deep water in the oceans/lakes and such. It's really cool in my opinion because it gets DARK.
Looks like the debugging code I added isn't working on servers. I'll try to release 0.0.7 in an hour or so, which will also contain a fix for that. In the meantime, if you just set "Enable Debugging" to false, that should prevent the crash. Let me know if that's not the case.
Confirming it's false. EDIT: I mean it was false when it crashed. Just to be clear.
On the note of modded biome generation, Ars Magica has a Witchwood biome that generates for mod specific trees and plants. There is also magical water generation in the form of essence pools that generate in the landscape. I haven't tested it but it should be on your list as its pretty popular.
Speaking of Ore generation in mountains...I'm quite aware that MC generates ore under certain levels, but I think we can all agree this mod goes way beyond the norm. I'd really like a config option for "high altitude" ore generation as that is more realistic then the current MC standard...I live in gold country at 5000 ft...you don't find gold nuggets in stream beds in the valley...isn't there a mod called Realistic Terrain something something...oh yeah...this one.
Looks pretty nifty, quick question do you have any plans to make compatibility with the Streams mod? I ask because that is another good one that gets added somewhat frequently when attempting to make the world look better.
Flava, KdotJPG posted a few times on the RWG thread trying to push Ted to use Simplex instead of Perlin noise. If you can contact him, he might know something.
You can find one of his posts on Page 284, posted on March 22, 2015. Hope that helps.
Edit: He even made the change himself and posted a version of RWG using his OpenSimplex noise on Page 271, posted on February 5, 2015.
Double edit: He was last active online about a month ago, so it might not be easy to contact him. He seemed frustrated by Ted's lack of communication or comment on his suggestions and might actually be really excited to see what you guys are doing here.
I got a weird crash while trying to create/generate a new realistic world . I have enhance Biomes , BOP and extrabiomesXl installed and your mod RTG . This crash only happens after installing my fav biome adding mod extrabiomesxl . Crash Report is Here
MainFlava's just had a major breakthrough on the island generation side of things... it's looking very promising indeed!
Re: Ars Magica biomes.... nice suggestion, I'll add it to the list of Mods to support. If it's possible, I'd definitely like to support Ars Magica
Re: Custom ore generation... I've already added this to the issue tracker (https://github.com/Team-RTG/Realistic-Terrain-Generation/issues/160), and you make a very good point... I think a config option for ore generation would be a good fit for RTG, so I'll definitely see what I can do. Do you think being able to set the min/max height for each ore is enough? I'm just thinking... would it be worth being able to say "Ore X can only generate in these biomes: "? Or would that be overkill?
Well I'm always a fan of giving people more control, so if you could add biome rules along with altitude rules then yes, go for it. I don't think it would be overkill since adventure mappers might use it for sure.
Tbh want that to be part of the mod itself as for waterfalls. Of course this will be implanted after we get our core working aso that is the most important thing but we getting closer everyday
Oh sure sure, that is to be expected. I am just getting in the process of prepping/idea phase of a new modpack for myself once I decide I'm finished with my current one and this mod popped up on my radar along with streams recently so I thought I might as well ask. Thanks for the info!
