I know this is the most annoying question you can get, but are you going to update to 1.14.2?
Another question: do you think it might be compatible with dynamic trees? https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/dynamictrees
There are no plans to update RTG to 1.14, but... it's not completely off the table.
As for adding support for Dynamic Trees, I don't think support will ever be added to RTG itself, but there's nothing stopping anyone from making a 'compatibility' mod, similar to the ones for BOP and Traverse , should somone want to do so.

Is there a rough estimate of when we could expect a first playable test version for 1.12?
I tried just Geographiecraft + BoP but the terrain looks like crap, and the water & lava pools that spawn absolutely everywhere are killing me (from the inside).
I tried biome bundle & OTG too, but as mentioned it is super crashy, it has issues with some mods, and I personally don't like how nonsensical it is with how it sometimes even mixes hot and cold climates. The advertised 400 "original" biomes is also not really true unless you count every single variation and sub biome as their own unique biome (or there is something preventing 98% of them to actually spawn).
TL:DR I miss RTG.
I hope there will be something for 1.14 too because I have a really hard time playing MC without it. But the vanilla 1.13 & 1.14 changes actually do look good (mild surprise).
I see. Well, I have heard that they estimate to be done porting to 1.12.2 before the end of the year. There has been a recent surge of activity with the return of Pink and Srs apparently having some time on their hands.

RTG as it currently works will most likely not be ported to MC 1.14, but perhaps a new mod will be written to make up for it. Only time will tell.

Hopefully soon. 1.12 is really hurting for good terrain generation mods.
I won't ask for a specific release date, you are busy and all but are there are big problems you are facing in terms of game breaking bugs that are opposing you or is just "work" in general that needs doing?
I said this before but I really wanna start playing again and this whole forge/fabric and twitch downloads has me all confused now on where and what version to exactly start playing. This mod would be a good reason for 1.12 I suppose. Though I don't even know what all the new versions bring but still. ;p
Honestly, the best place to not ask this question would be the Discord server.

And I have heard that an official release is coming soon.

Very good mod, if you can make the bedrock version is even better, I do not speak English, the system translated, strongly recommended the bedrock version
Just out of curiosity (apologies if I missed this already being said), but does the newest snapshot version still work with other biome mods like Biomes O'Plenty and/or still require Climate Control?
Is it RTG or Geographiecraft that provides the custom terrain settings in the snapshot version when you make a new world (I thought it was Geographiecraft but it says RTG at the top)? Because I'm wondering why there's no global permanent settings in either one of the mods config files for things like the (vanilla) water & lava pools (that setting also does not seem to work on Mountain biomes, which I think are from BoP) or the snow layers (doesn't work well with serene seasons because it immediately melts them away). I also remember that in the past there was an option to disable things like poison ivy from BoP which seems to be missing too. And what are "water / lava spouts" exactly? The source blocks that usually end up going down mountains and caves?
Hi, I don't know if its a bug or not, but the dungeon chance slider on the customize section doesn't seem to be working for me, i put it to 20 and when you fly through the world, you don't see a difference on dungeon spawning, its very similar to having it at 8. Im using snapshot 1 and forge 1.12.2 - 14.23.5.2831.
I don't know if i have to put it on the github because dont know if its intended or a bug, so i will leave it here. Thanks for this great mod!
Hey! When you say "flying through the world" Do you mean above ground or underground (in spectator mode)?
I am asking because the "dungeons" that are meant here are the randomly scattered single zombie/skeleton/spider spawners underground that you would find in Vanilla Minecraft.
This mod does not affect the surface-dungeons added by mods like Dungeon Pack or Roguelike Dungeons. Those mods have their own configuration files for this.

I refer to underground vanilla (zombie/skeletons/ spiders) dungeons and fliying on spectator mode with night vision (sorry i didn't said that haha).
Edit: For information, doing new tests (with dungeon chance at 20), actually the generation increases but is so inconsistent, you can see in some places like 3 dungeons generated very close to each other in one place, then you move a couple of hundred blocks, and you dont see a single one for another like 500 blocks, then another 2 close to each other, and so on. I think it should be more uniform. Especially compared with vanilla generation (if you make a world with dungeon chance at 100), you can see that the all those dungeons appear at se same rate, all over the world.
hay there I have a bug to report. Out of 25 worlds i ve created with the latest snap shot I have yet to see one single village or pregenerated structure. I have attempted to use other mods that might generate structures but nothing seems to be spawning. Also as a further note. 90% of worlds I generated were almost entirely Ice biomes of one form or another, and no amount of teleporting around got me to any other terrain. Something isn't working properly thats for sure.
Also do not touch the sea level controls they seem to cause crashes a lot.
There is only one MC 1.12.2 snapshot and I am using it on a private server and I have actually found a village and not everything is ice.
Also, RTG does not influence global biome placement. Only Rivers, Beaches and some border smoothening.
And ice biomes do not generally have villages, so there's that.
What other mods are you using?

I asked srs_bsns and it should work exactly like vanilla dungeons. It's just that RTG's default cave rarity is way lower. And caves are a prequisite for those dungeons to generate. This is why you would see less of them and if you set the "chance" very high, they are basically clustered around the few caves that do generate with RTG.
So... more caves should mean a more uniform distribution of spawner-dungeons.
