CMEs of this nature in 1.7.10 are a vanilla Minecraft issue, not an RTG issue. Mojang has mitigated this in Minecraft 1.9.
This usually happens when a mod is trying generate a structure in a chunk in which a structure is already being generated. The more mods you are using that generate structures (especially ones that can generate near villages), and/or the lower the distance between structures, the higher the chances of this happening.
According to your crash report, you are using RTG-1.7.10-1.1.1, which is outdated. You should upadate to RTG-1.7.10-1.1.1.4 (the final 1.7.10 version of RTG) which contains a possible fix (the fix was added in RTG-1.7.10-1.1.1.2) to try to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
TL;DR: What options for "lakes (surface)" and "lakes (underground)" are "vanilla-like"? When it says it has a 1/x possibility to generation, is that possibility per chunk? Per biome?
I recently started a modded 1.10.2 server (including Biomes o Plenty and Geographicraft) and after exploring for a while, and mining and starting to build, I wanted to mine some obsidian so I could get to the nether to get some much needed nether-only blocks.
Problem is, I saw no lava lakes on the surface, and found almost no caves or "just above bedrock" lava lakes in the underground, even after extensively mining (and now that I think about it, no surface water lakes/ponds either).
I think it might have something to do with the default RTG lakes settings of 1/10 chance of generation for both? Is there is a setting that is more vanilla-like?
Thanks.
Water surface ponds have been disabled in some biomes (hard-coded), and as far as I know, lava surface ponds have been disabled completely, so the config option won't do anything.
Underground ponds (both water and lava), however, should generated just fine. I can't really speak on the math for the chances of them being generated though, but you can always try generating some test worlds with various settings and use /gamemode 3 (spectator mode) to travel underground and see how many generate and their density.
IMPORTANT! This snapshot is NOT compatible with worlds created with version 4.1.2.4 and below and is meant to be used for TESTING PURPOSES ONLY. (You should CREATE A NEW WORLD if you're going to test this snapshot.)
IMPORTANT! You should DELETE your RTG config folder before updating to this version.
Changelog
Biome support
Added biome support for ATG (requires Geographicraft or BiomeTweaker to be installed - example BiomeTweaker tweaks for ATG can be found here ).
Re-terrained several BOP biomes (Bamboo Forest, Crag, Land of Lakes, Bayou).
Surfaces
Re-surfaced Extreme Hills variants.
Added biome-configurable arctic surfaces to Ice Plains and Ice Mountains.
Mushroom Island variants now have Mushroom Island Shore beaches by default.
Decorations
Snow layers in Extreme Hills variants start from around Y=120 instead of Y=90 (configurable, see below for more info).
Added sponge to the floors of Deep Ocean.
Re-decorated vanilla Taiga biome variants.
Re-decorated Roofed Forest to have fewer mob spawns under canopy.
Better BOP biome decoration.
Added ice trees to Ice Plains Spikes (configurable).
Bug fixes
Fixed an issue where some BOP biomes were getting decorated more than once.
Fixed an issue with shrubs not generating when they're supposed to.
Fixed an issue related to RTG's lush river bank surfacing interfering with Streams generation.
Config options
Added biome-configurable biome temperatures - please note, these temperature settings get applied after biome layouts are determined so they won't affect the climate regions that they generate in.
Added biome config for cactus gen to relevant biomes.
Removed biome-configurable caves & ravines due to poor performance.
Under the hood
Updated to Forge 12.18.3.2185.
Updated mappings to stable_nodoc_29.
API tweaks, including the adding of package-info.java for API registration.
Volcano speed improvements.
Various tweaks and enhancements.
We know that many of you were expecting our next release to be for 1.11.2, but we've decided to focus our efforts on 1.10.2 for now.
For those of you who decide to test these snapshots, please let us know what you think about the new changes, and if you find any bugs, just let us know here in the forums or create an issue on GitHub.

Hello
4.2.0.0 isn't support Appalachia, the Minecraft will go crash, looks crash base on API
1. Appalachia is currently pre-alpha and does not have any kind of release.
2. Appalachia hasn't yet been updated for changes made to the current RTG API.
Euh... what is a jungle temple doin there
PINKY !!!!
In order for a jungle temple to generate in RTG, a check is made to verify that the biome is in all three of these biome dictionary categories: BiomeDictionary.Type.HOT, BiomeDictionary.Type.WET, BiomeDictionary.Type.JUNGLE. So the only way that a jungle temple could generate in a desert biome is if some other mod is altering the biome dictionary entries for deserts.
Out of curiosity, have you set B:"Enable Scattered Feature Modifications" to false?
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
The mod loads and looks great but.... Well, it makes the worlds extremely small. I'm talking I can cross the whole map in under 1 minute. You may want to get this figured out. If it helps here's a list of other mods I'm using with it:
Advanced Rocketry
Ancient Warfare
Carpenters Blocks
Climate Control
Custom NPC's
DecoCraft2
Enchiridion
LookingGlass
MalisisCore
MalisisDoors
Mantle
Mariculture
Military Base Décor
Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod
Pam's Harvest Craft
(Your mod)
SecurityCraft
Tinkers Construct
Vic's Modern Warfare Mod
Voltz Engine
i put this in my mod folder, the only other mods i had were Damage indicators, optifine, and a minimap. (i didnt extract the folder) also, i couldn't find the map download. please tell me what i'm doing wrong!!

Your mod is fantastic, but it's the one I had installed most recently when the game crashed, so here's the crash report.
*snip*
You have downloaded RTG from an illicit source (9minecraft.com, et. al.). There is no RTG release with the filename RTG-1.10.2.jar. Our jar filenames will always have the format RTG-<Minecraft version>-<RTG version>.jar (eg RTG-1.10.2-4.1.2.4.jar). You should only ever download RTG from the official download locations: Our GitHub Repo Release section, or from Curse / CurseForge.
The file you have is named RTG-1.10.2.jar but this is most likely a version of RTG for 1.8.9 as the class WorldChunkManagerRTG hasn't existed since RTG for 1.8.9. For 1.10.2 I recommend you download the current stable version which is RTG-1.10.2-4.1.2.4.jar.
When will 1.11.2 be released? I have been waiting for quite some time. Great mod by the way! is beautiful with shaders!
A 1.11.2 Alfa can be compiled from source , but its not as feature rich as 1.10.2 . When 1.10.2 is working as intended , then the 1.10.2 features will be merged into 1.11.2 .
The mod loads and looks great but.... Well, it makes the worlds extremely small. I'm talking I can cross the whole map in under 1 minute. You may want to get this figured out. If it helps here's a list of other mods I'm using with it:

Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod
Pam's Harvest Craft

SecurityCraft
Tinkers Construct
Vic's Modern Warfare Mod

Could any of these be causing the problems?
You can dig into climate control's configs and set it to generate large continents. You'll need to set the incidence numbers fro generation of smaller landmasses to smaller than larger ones. And don't forget to make "merge continents" = true. Or you could just use some option that generates the world like vanilla, but with RTG methods. That will result in taiga bordering with desert, which is ridiculous.
You WILL have to try to generate your worlds several times until you find your best.

No, I have set to "true".
But... How to explain village in the middle of the ocean? :
Or this? :

Do you happen to have the Mo' Villages mod installed? I remember those ocean villages spawned all the time when I used it.
No, it's Biomes O'Plenty (5.0.0.2089) + RTG (October 2016, RTG-1.10.2-4.1.1.4) only.
Greetings.

Thanks. I'll go and get it now.
