my fps is the same, it's just like loading the chunks and terrain is slow is what I meant sorry
Nice looking terrain and biome decoration is not cheap; It takes more cpu to process. There are also some issues with chunk updates in Forge that are unrelated to RTG which can affect tick rate (and therefore chunk generation speed) in certain biomes, mostly the ones
with lots of trees.
Try lowering your view distance. (A view distance of 6-8 is good when you are traveling through the world and creating new chunks.)
I really love this mod, but I really wish that you had some mountains with cliffs. The mountains you have are pretty, and I definitely dont miss the ugliness of extreme hills, but I miss seeing cliff faces in mountains.
Cliffs and overhangs are things that are planned for the RTG rewrite, if we ever get around to it. I'm not sure if any new features like that will be added to the current RTG generation.
more detailed mountains (e.g. Alpine, Extreme_Hills) similar to mountain_peak
There's no such thing as mountain_peak. What are you refering to? What do you mean by 'more detailed'?
Any changes to the terrain are not backwards compatible, so there won't be any changes until the next major update, which isn't likely to occur until atleast MC 1.11.
Oh, the conflicting mod I had in mind? Better Foliage has a feature that modifies the log models based on orientation and other neighboring logs. It looks really pretty.
Have the same problem with those modified trees. Still looking into whats causing the issue. They just textured the whole way, i think these palm trees are from RTG?
EDIT:
Yep. Same issue with just RTG installed. Picking that block up and setting it makes it fine.

Well, at least you are thinking about it!
I'll keep hoping

waterfalls (like big ones), plain fields filled with wheat, and sky islands would be really cool
Can anybody tell me if RTG is compatible with the Tough as Nails mod in 1.10.2. Just trying to get back into some modded MC after a bit of a long brake, and this stuff is difficult to figure out sometimes. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Sadly, there is still that vanilla bug that makes mob spawn rates wrong if your view distance is not 10.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
hmm... better foliage and RTG have been in the base of any modpack i've been working on for some time now and i haven't seen any issues with the all bark logs or their orientation. as far as the floating leaf blocks, i don't get those either. as whichonespink suggested it could be recurrent complex; i don't use that mod. i'm still in 1.7.10 though, haven't played around with 1.10 much yet.
" Since RTG uses the Vanilla biome placement (biomes get placed st
exactly the same place as they would in a default Vanilla Minecraft
world with the same world-seed), you will need Climate Control or
BiomeTweaker to tweak those biome placement values.
Or maybe AbyssalCraft's own config would allow you to set biome rarity? That should work as well. " - Robijnvogel
To add BoP biomes to the Vanilla Biome placer, which RTG uses, you do need to add and configure the BiomeTweaker or Geographicraft/ClimateControl mod to do so.
You're right, I forgot that was needed as well. My error.

is there an option for having vanilla trees? the RTG trees are extremely difficult to chop down in a vanilla environment.
Set S:"RTG Tree Density Multipler" to 0 in rtg.cfg

So how do you make BOP biomes spawn in an RTG world?
Um ........ install BOP?
Yeah.....but only vanilla biomes spawn, yet they have BOP foliage

the quark mod adds a 'realistic' world type...
hello and thanks for the mod
looking to set some biome generation rate down.
specifically I have AbyssalCraft installed and i want it to be very very rare to fine one of their biomes.
thanks
I kinda wish in the menu it just said RTG instead of Realistic, or RTG-Realistic. Having 3 Realistic options is confusing.
