Yep. Things are taking longer than I'd hoped, but I'll try to get it done before monday (when 1.14.1 releases), though I can't guarantee it. Life has been a bit hectic for me lately over the past few weeks, but things have calmed down now (though I still have a bit of a backlog with e.g. getting the protocol documentation on wiki.vg finished).
Pokechu22: Is it possible to get the datapack folder from any SMP with World Downloader 1.13 ?
No. Possibly tags could be saved (as the client needs to know them to handle placement and rendering and such), and maybe unlocked recipes and advancements (for the relevant GUIs), but none of the other data (loot tables and functions for instance) is sent to the client and thus savable. And even with that, it would mix all enabled datapacks into one pack. As is, I don't make any attempt to save them; I've wanted to save advancement progress (rather achievements at the time) for quite some time but never got around to it (and probably still won't for a while).
looking inside the 1.13.2 jason is no where near set out like the on in the spoilers like its completly laid out much different this is no clear anymore and is using out of date screenshots this is a mind game now trying to work this out
ok so i was able to modify a previously eddited profile for a vilage mod and now im able to use that to get this working that mas much easier on my part
Still waiting for World Downloader 1.14!!! really need it, got a server owner and he doesnt want to share his worlds seed because he is a **** lol, I hope that 1.14 and 1.14.1 drops really really soon!, if there was a way that I could compile it for 1.14 i would be on it, hope everything is going great and thanks for all your work!!!!

Yeah, sorry about how long it's taking. I really shouldn't try to do estimates; they tend to be way wrong :/
The challenges I've been facing are 1. getting the build system to even work to the point I can try to do some kind of development and 2. dealing with the fact that the MCP team decided to change from prefixes to suffixes, which means a lot of code was rather frivolously broken. (They did make a tool to automatically rename stuff, but it's not going to be easy to use it for me just due to how WDL's code is strucutred for multi-version stuff. I'm still not fully sure how I'll solve it.) Both of these make it hard to even get an initial build out, and I've got no idea when one will be done at this point. I do think that once I overcome these issues for 1.14, 1.14.1 should be much easier (since once the problem's been solved once, I won't need to do it again).
And, as a reminder, do remember that WDL cannot get a server's seed (which matters for generating new chunks, and also things like slime chunks), only the map itself.

Even so, I find this useful for the builds I've done on a server.
I usually use this to download them & then use the download to 'experiment' in SP creative mode on structure redesigns &/or how I'm going to fit redstone contraptions into the build, making it easier to plan ahead & figure out what what resources I have to gather in survival
So now what's going to happen? Since the forum is closing where is this mod going?
(For context, see this thread, though given that it's also a banner at the top of the page it's hard to miss.)
I'm still thinking about what I'll do. Probably, I'll just move the documentation onto github pages or something like that (where I can still edit it) and just continue using github releases to actually host mod binaries (and move the link here to point to the release list and the latest release, both of which can be linked to in a way that automatically points to the latest version). I can use github issues for support (which already partially happens) and ... probably reddit PMs or maybe email for other contact. Not sure yet.
Of course, there are also the links within the mod itself, which are more complicated... but I probably don't need to worry about those too much (as long as the page still exists, it's not too big of an issue to redirect people to the new right place).
It still is... kinda scary how soon that'll be. But I should be able to get it all figured out.
I'm thinking the question was more for future posts and updates. Pretty sure they already know about archive still being available. Other mods like optifine already have their own website and now a discord. The discord server will help them allot by still being able to communicate with users and give updates and get feedback.
After an unfortunately long amount of time, I've finally released version 4.0.5.0!
Added versions of the mod targeting 1.14, 1.14.1, and 1.14.2
These have only been tested minimally, and may be unstable.
Known issue: custom names of containers are not saved
Known issue: containers added in 1.14 will not have their contents saved (they will display a "Unhandled Block Entity" message)
Known issue: the game crashes when opening the saved chunks screen before selecting start download (#123)
Fixed an issue where links would not open in 1.13 and newer (specifically, links opened by buttons; ones in chat would work as those used the normal chat component system).
Implemented a GUI that shows chat chunks have been saved (#115). This is _not_ fully finished and I will attempt to do more work on them later.
I plan to release another version within the next 5 days to correct any issues and also to tie up some loose ends. Specifically, since the Minecraft Forum is being archived on June 16th, I need to tidy up some of the references to it in the mod. I plan to continue using the in-mod update checker for notifications on new releases, and GitHub issues for bug reports and support (as already is the case in addition to the forum thread). I'll have more information later.
Since the forum was acquired by another company, I no longer have an immediate need to push out a new release or migrate elsewhere, fortunately. Just editing this in here so that people aren't confused as to why there wasn't any update.
Could we please have tutorial? on how to install for 1.14.2? It appears liteloader is not updated and I do not know how to install this mod please help

There are instructions in the main post (you want to follow the ones for the base edit, and multimc is probably the easiest choice). Note that one of the images mentions "add jar mod"; the button was since renamed to "add to minecraft.jar". It's a bit of a hassle, unfortunately, and at some point I'll hopefully get a simpler process for 1.14.x and 1.13.x done (but I've got no idea when that will happen).
* What went wrong:
A problem occurred evaluating root project 'Gradle'.
> Cannot run program "git": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
* Try:
Run with --stacktrace option to get the stack trace. Run with --info or --debug option to get more log output. Run with --scan to get full insights.

There's installation instructions in the main post (though it's not exactly the simplest thing).
It looks like you're trying to build from source, which is (unfortunately) a fair bit more complicated. If that's actually what you want to do (and not a side effect of confusion about how to install one of the built versions you can find in the downloads section), I can help you with that, but step-by-step instructions are a bit harder at the moment. That specific message I assume is during compilation of begradle, and would happen because you haven't installed git... but that probably shouldn't be a requirement to build in the first place. I'll look into why that's the case.
No it's not what I want to do! The github repository has like 30 of the damn things. I have no idea which to use. I'm just following the instructions I found there.
Is this still in the works? I'm interested!

Thankyou that helped, I had been using the LiteLoader instructions (but lifelaoder is not on latest version) but the MultiMC instructions worked
thanks.
Can anyone please expand on the directions on how to install this? A simple, step by step tutorial would only take the author 5 minutes to write...
