Levels 3 is an innovative mod centered around the concept of adding leveling systems to weapons and armor, aimed at improving the combat system within Minecraft. With Levels 3, you will be able to use your weapons and armor to gain experience, level up, and add unique attributes providing an edge in combat.
When you first obtain a weapon or piece of armor, it will be assigned a randomized rarity which will provide bonuses to damage (or damage mitigation), bonus experience, and even durability resistance. By successfully using your new weaponry, you will gain experience, in which if you gain enough, your weapon/armor will level up, potentially unlocking any attributes the weapon or armor might have.
Levels 3 changes a lot of features from Levels 2, all of which can be found here.
Any 1.9.4 or 1.10 version of Levels requires xLib to run properly! 1.10.2 version DO NOT need xLib. I am phasing that library out. If you are using 1.7.10, you do not need xLib either.

Support Levels
If you haven't noticed, I don't use AdFly links for any of my mods. The reason for that is I just don't like them. I'm not in this to make money, rather doing it because it is enjoyable. If you feel inclined and generous, consider donating any amount of money to the development of the mod.
And if money isn't necessarily an ideal way to support, simply providing feedback works just as well!

Those are the basic guidelines. If you have any questions about them, just ask me.
Really awesome! Can't wait for mod compatibility. This is something I would love to use when released, reminds me of iguana tweaks for TC's level up system, which I really like, but I have issues with TC at times. Keep it up!
Was this inspired by Iguana Tinker Tweaks? Anyways, it looks like a really good mod. Is this compatible with weapons (Sword of Zephyr) and armor (Metallurgy Armors) from other mods?
Nice, it's released! Suggestion: put the download on CurseForge
If those mods add support.
Download will be via CurseForge
It was really inspired by the countless games which have a leveling system for weapons, and I felt that would be neat to have as a mod. As for mod compatibility, it won't be compatible with any mod right now. Mods would need to use the API for that. In the future, I'm definitely going to see about doing it some other way, but for now, that's what it is unfortunately. After the armor/bow systems come out, my main priority would be mod compatibility.
Looks like 1000-5000-10000-15000-20000+?
It's 1,000-2,500-5,000-10,000-20,000. You get 1 experience per successful swing (dealing damage) and 10/20/30 depending on which monster you kill.
I'm actually just about to test this, though my assumption is yes, you will be able to. I'll update this post when afterwards.
Edit: Yes, you can enchant weapons and have this system. A few enchantments will be obsolete (Fire for instance), though you can stack them.
I've added the config option and pull requested.
For now, it will probably be left as is. I'm still thinking how I want to integrate the two, if at all possible. Anyways, there is a likely hood that the enchanting system will not be compatible, but we'll see.
As for ways of leveling up, these will probably left as is for sometime. I'd like to develop a more complex level system in the future, but I'll ask around when I get to that point (likely after an "official release" instead of Beta's).
Looks cool. Can you get multiple skills on a single weapon?

Yes, you can.
(p.s. 2 days)
Armor tonight, perhaps?
Hopefully, at least. Also, if anyone has general suggestions for the mod, like new abilities and such, let us know! Other than that, the armor leveling system is almost finished; still a few things needing to be worked out.
Updated thread - much more clean and simple in my opinion. Unfortunately, b2.0.0 will have to wait a day or two while I finish up testing the logic and such. Feedback on what is currently in place is appreciated as well; will tweak the weapon system if people see fit to it.
YES! I'll be waiting for that unique armor leveling!
Almost finished :). Doing some last minute testing type things. Maybe Friday, most likely Saturday.
This is so amazing and simple!
Are you gonna add TC Integration and some other ones too?
If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
500+ huggles? U wot, m8?
Yes, I do plan on adding support for most popular mods like TC.
isn't thaumcraft support going to be hard
EDIT: oops you meant thermal casting
