The main trouble with doors is that if you want something more interesting than loads of different coloured oak doors, they can't be procedurally generated like the other blocks, since they'll need individual textures.
I would like to suggest trapped chests, though. They seem logical with the normal chests, and when you have such a variety of chests, a vanilla one stands out a lot, suspiciously or not (and maybe they could just be a metadata variety of the existing chests if that's a better idea, since they're mostly the same?).
I'd also like to suggest ladders, but they might be better served with individual textures like doors (and trapdoors).
And while I'm here, would it be possible to have better compatibility for the chests with JABBA's dolly? They don't completely break when it's used with them which is good, but it only places them facing south, not facing towards you.

Keep up the good work though Gany!
For ladders, trapdoors and doors you have Gany's Surface... it adds those for the vanilla woods.
The reason for that is exactly what you said, their texture is far too intricate to be done in a procedural way and make it look decent for every type of wood (the colours and brightness range wildly, so what might look decent for one texture might end up being too dark or too white for another).
As for JABBA's support, I think that's something you need to ask the JABBA devs to do. I'm not sure they if have an API for that sort of stuff (and the dolly is OP anyway :P)
It looks like you backspaced some stuff there that shouldn't have been removed. Here is an example of mine, I bolded what needs to be fixed, hopfully it will help you
Gany. You are awesome. Ever since I saw the crafting tables in an OLD Direwolf20 video with custom matching wood, I looked around LITERALLY for years to try and find it. I recently found the mod that added them originally, but it was combined with a TON of other stuff that I didn't really need or want in my modpack, as it was already big enough, and I had mods in it that already did a lot of the things it added. So I just want to say a HUGE, HUGE thank you for this. Your mods have added a silly amount to the quality of life in my minecraft universe, and I use a BUNCH of them in all the modpacks I make. (Woodstuff, Gany's Nether, and Et Futurum mainly) Please keep up the awesome work, and being such an wonderful influence on the minecraft modding community. Modders don't get repayed enough for all their hard work and time they put into what will mostly give them nothing in return, so I wanted to make sure that you at least got a nice thank you from a big fan. <3 Wolf
I wouldn't say I'm an influence in the community XD, but thank you very much for your kind words It certainly help to keep the flame alive and push me into carrying on with what I'm doing
Yay~! It's the least I can do since I don't have money to contribute to patron D:
Edit:

Dear god. That's the other mod I've been hunting for and have never found. I SWEAR I saw that in a Direwolf video once as well, but I've never been able to find it. If you find a way to do JABBA barrels... I-I don't know. There's nothing I could ever do to express my gratitude.
2. any chance of having a Stone Stuff? That adds buttons, pressure plates, walls, dispenser, dropper, and furnace versions of stone blocks? Mostly looking for coverage for hardened/stained clay, bricks, sandstone, and end stone
Would it be possible to add support for more mods via some kind of automatic detection? This mod could detect the recipes used by another mod, and change it slightly so that the various chests and such from this mod can be used in place of vanilla items.
also, Twilight Forest has some planks, along with Witchery.

Chests have an ore dictionary name. If my chests aren't useable in a certain mod's recipe, go tell that mod's author to fix that =P Chests are registered as "chest" and "chestWood".
I'll look into adding support for those two mods you mentioned. Shouldn't be too hard

1. Pretty much every mod I support already adds slabs and stair for its woods. That's why I didn't add support for it in the first place.
2. Dispensers, dropers and furnaces would be harder to support because their texture can't be dynamically created. The others should be easy. But there aren't that many mods out there that add new types of stone is there?

there are a few, not many. UBC does everything but the pressure plates.
As for the dropper/dispenser/furnace there should be a way to create them similarly to how you did the chests using the stone/cobblestone as the base image and overlaying an another image(with the appropriate markings) for that block.
I did up an example with the Blue Sicht cobble from UBC, the overlays I used are available in a PDN file here. I made them based on the default textures.
Is there something in particular that you must do to get the fence posts? I have the mod installed and I can see it in NEI but whenever I try to craft the redwood fence posts all I get is oak.

Are you using the correct recipe? They use the 1.8 style recipe

You can add it yourself, here is an example, since I have AR2:
Could you add different wooden tools (Spruce and Birch tools for example.) or not?

He has a mod that adds 1.8 doors if you're interested:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/2418997-et-futurum-brings-the-future-to-now
Though the ability to make some doors would be interesting as Natura doesn't have doors for all of it's trees.
The main trouble with doors is that if you want something more interesting than loads of different coloured oak doors, they can't be procedurally generated like the other blocks, since they'll need individual textures.

Two questions
1. can you also add slabs and stairs?

Yeah, four planks and two sticks.

You can add it yourself, here is an example, since I have AR2:

# e.g.:Forestry:planks | 2 | true | true | true | true | false | false | true
S:woods <
chisel:paperwall_block | 7 | true | false | true | false | false | true | false
chisel:paperwall_block | 0 | false | true | false | true | true | false | true
arsmagica2:planksWitchwood | 0 | true | true | true | true | true | true | true
etfuturum:brown_mushroom | 0 | true | true | true | true | true | true | true
