Here is a clearer image of the Fire Dragon, along with a preview of our work in progress Ice Dragon. The Ice Dragon defers from the fire in it's attacks (obviously being Ice based), habitat and behaviour. Ice Dragons inhabit the snowy regions of minecraft and unlike their fiery cousins are excellent swimmers.
It would be cool to have like baby dragons and they hatch from eggs and follow you around and stuff
This looks like a wonderful mod, and given that there is now a Skyrim Shouts mod for 1.8 as well, I would love to see the two mods used together
Some ideas that may go well with this mod. I'm not sure these have been suggested before, but I'm too lazy (or sane) to look through 50+ pages to see if someone did.
1) Dragon Slayers/Knights: Which ever works best for you, wondering warriors in armor, and maybe on horse back. They attack all hostile mobs and spawn in biomes were villages normally spawn. When they die, they drop their gear, weapons and some extra loot. Dragons would target them at their later stages when they are stronger.
2)Since dragons routinely collect treasure to hoard in stories and yours are no different, how about they collect the drops of any mobs they kill. If its edible, its gone, but say armor, weapons, gold, emeralds, etc. They take it back to their layers and they place them in gold piles. Said gold pile when broken, revert to the hold, or could be like chests, you open them, but the more stuff that in them, the bigger the pile and vice versa.
3)Since dragons are usually attracted to shiny things (gold, jewels etc), then at night, they would be attracted to any bright light, like a torch, which they would go and routinely break. This means that in addition to bait, a ring of torches could attract them, or they could be used to lure away a dragon from its cave for a short period of time and explain why they routinely attack villages or the player's home. Of course the player should be able to turn this on and off as it could get annoying and make things too easy.

That would be cool it would also be if you could pick your class like a dragon hunter or a dragon tamer or something like that

not all dragons are gold lovers, take for example alduin, deathwing

True as that may be, that's only in modern culture/gaming, the dragons of this game take their behavior from the same old myths that inspired Smaug. It makes sense then that they would be attracted to bright lights, the same way they are attracted to shiny objects.
They aren't attracted to bright lights, else every time one breathed fire it would be like “ooh shiny I'm going to go look at that". The lore wise dragons hoard gold to attract mates just like how bower birds collect objects to construct bowers.

I've been watching this forum for a while but I didn't have an account till now
I think it's gonna be great
But I have just one question...
Is it going to work on a mac?
Does Minecraft work on Mac?
I may be crazy, or maybe you're the crazy one, time will spill it soon enough
click us, or we die
No, you don't understand. Sometimes mods are made specifically for windows or they just don't work on my mac
It's a legitimate question, and I wasn't asking you anyway
It looks way better than dragon mounts, so I hope it works
If Raptor would be willing 2 test it for me on a mac, that would be great, but if not, I'll just test it myself when it comes out
Nothing to see here, be on your way.
Is this mod dead and will there ever be a download plz this mod looks amazing hope there is a download eventally
And can the dragons like breathe fire and ice and stuff

Srry i was just wondering how to put the banner on
Been a lil' while since I've been here, so let me suggest a thing!
What about some sort of roar attack? Perhaps it could act as a debuff to the player or even a buff to the dragon.
It should also make all mobs run away in fear.
Are dragons going to raid villages? It would be cool if the villagers reacted to the dragons, or have like a warning horn sound when one is close.
