Ice and Fire: Dragons in a Whole New Light! - Build 1.1.0 - 1.11.2 Update
Poll: Ice or Fire? Which is your favourite Dragon type?
Ended Apr 9, 2017
Is it open to be downloaded and compiled manually? because i can do that! If not, i understand
Everyone keeps asking "when's it coming out"... Just go back one page people. It's talked about. A developer even posted a link to a progress meter.
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light
I believe that this mod shall be far superior to several other mods that add in dragons and other mythical creatures, and I anticipate its arrival. However, my version of Minecraft is minorly outdated. Due to this, I fear that the mod may be released for versions beyond my own. I beg the fine people who created this mod to release a version for Minecraft 1.8.9.
This looks amazing. Those models are top notch! This seems like one of those must-haves when it comes out. Good luck with the development, guys!
idk if its asked but much but i got this idea
that you have the possibility to add banners to the saddle from the dragon you own...

Not gonna happen. Plans for a 1.8 release were trashed all the way back around when they decided to update it to 1.9.4. They've stated on the bottom of the original post that any requests for a 1.7.10 version would be considered spam. That probably extends to requests for other older versions. 1.8.9 might be newer than 1.7.10, but compared to 1.10.2 all previous versions are considered "older". So consider this a warning that your comment could be considered spam too. My comment might also be deleted as "replying to spam". Please do not ask again for them to make it compatible themselves with an older version, the developers and forum mods don't like it.
I am only potentially "replying to spam" because now that the topic has been brought up hopefully backwards compatibility won't be revisited anytime soon. Unless someday the developers give players the ability to alter the mod for themselves, 1.10.2 is going to be as old as it gets.
What players should be asking for is a far future suggestion to make the code available for players to alter the mod for older updates. Like 1.7.10 or in this case 1.8.9. Not for the developers to take the time out of their busy schedules and set themselves back just to downgrade a mod that hasn't even been released yet.
And for the record, this comment was not meant to me degrading, insulting or aggressive in any way, shape or form. I'm just trying to be informative as to why backwards compatibility shouldn't be asked for on this and most threads. There are threads where players will gang up and rip you apart for it.
If it helps anyone this is the progress meter linked to by one of the developers.

Could there be different types of dragon armor added in the future? Some of my ideas: Thorny armor (armor with spikes protruding all over it), Dented armor (self explanatory), fire armor (Blazing red/orange armor with particles that come off of it representing the element of fire maybe?), ice armor (similar to fire but ice) etc

i like it
Technically if you download the files from their git repository, set up an environment, paste the two together and run it via Eclipse, that would technically work. However, I don't know if they want people doing that, so..
Yeah I figured. I doubt most people know how to do it anyways, so I wouldn't be too worried about it.
Is there maybe a slight chance of a possibility that there are any new pictures of the dragons that can be shared?

We don't want people using a unfinished product that will not live up to their expectations at all. Wait like a normal person.
I think you misinterpreted my message. I was just stating a possible method that it could be done, I wasn't telling anyone to go and do it, and I highly doubt anyone will try to attempt it anyways.
So are there planned features for the passive mobs? Y'know, mermaids and the like?
They're in the Future Creatures spoilers.
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light
Any updates on the mod that I missed by any chance?
Comment 2993 above has a link to a progress meter at the very bottom of my very ugly wall of text.
Don't know how long you've been gone from the thread, but it's generally in motion with the developers dropping in every now and again. Going back several pages and reading forwards will help.
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light
Will a tamed dragon follow you around similar to a tamed wolf?

A dragon is not a dog and has a free spirit more similar to a horse, however for sanity's sake they can be made to stay in the same area.
So,will there be any other creatures besides those that have already been revealed? I'm not asking what they are if there will be,just if there are any.
