Okay I figured out how to increase the RAM and did so, and it sort of worked, I was able to play for longer before the lagging got so bad I had to quit, but I still had to quit.
Huh, I included both Optifine and BetterFPS in that. Did you try tweaking the Minecraft and Optifine settings? If so, and you're still lagging, then maybe your comp just can't handle so many mods.
Edit: Try MultiMC, easier RAM adjustments (Instance Settings), Drag and Drop mod adding, etc. It made it so much easier to play modded without near as much lag.

I have some suggetions for the future, you can add more dragons types that would be cool, also I love the future stuff you gues are prepering for this mod. Suggestion Add more dragons like a electric or lighting Dragon with a chain eletric attack, Acid Dragon with a Fluoroantimonic acid or simple super acid spay with armor disintegration plus shield disintegration and armor penatration, Water Dragon with a water jet attack, Earth Dragon, magick Dragon, Poison Dragon with a poison spray that can kill the undead two (zombies, skeletons, wither skeletons, strays and husk plus the wither finally the Drowned from the new version that is coming soon 1.13) make the dragons poison is own poison not the minecraft poison and add it's own uses and story and quality. The Poison Dragon can have a infection ability to use against his prey or enemies. Finally you can add a Light Dragon and Darkness Dragon, Angelic Dragon and Demonic or demon Dragon with there unique abilities. I support thee in patreon

The developers have stated numerous times - Ice and Fire is gonna have ONLY Ice and Fire dragons, no other types. Many people before you have suggested other dragon types, but the mod is only going to have those two, which, in my opinion, is way better than having like 10 other dragons. First of all, that it's going to make the mod multiple times heavier, and it is heavy enough as it is, second of all, adding other dragon types will be completely against the mod's initial idea and lore. It'd be way better for the story if they instead focus on other aspects of the mod, like other mobs and such, which they're actually doing.
You forgot his suggestion for a Minotaur and centaur, both of which would fit perfectly into this mod. But, as for more dragons, aside from the developers saying no, this mod is rather large as it is, and, honestly, having three types of dragons in the mod already (counting ender), any more would just ruin the concept.

The next release will most likely add Sirens (mermaids and naga are now one entity, as far as I know), Hippocampi (the water horses XD) and mayyybe-not-entirely-sure Death Worms. The first two I know for a fact they are in the next update though.
They should release the death-worms now, at the next release, but wait for 1.13 for the Sirens and Hippocampi. They would fit in perfectly, so that would make sense.

The_Last_Dovahkiin, I was looking through your modpack, and had another suggestion for a mod to add. Electroblob's Wizardry. It is not 1.12.2 as of yet, but it is in the process of being updated. It is obvious that you base this modpack around the medieval time period, and magic. Take a look through it when you get the chance. I think it would go well.

Is there a config for this mod? or am I missing something... I'd like to be able to control spawn rates, flight speeds, greifing ect.
Very little in the config (yes it's in the config folder) actually does anything. You can control spawning but not very well, and greifing is bugged at the moment where they may not break blocks but if they breathe fire (which they do a lot) they turn blocks into scorched versions.
I feel that the draw distance on the Hippogryphs and Dragons is WAY too small. Though I appreciate that you can hear them from a great distance, I'd love to be able to see where the sound is coming from. I don't know if that's something hard-coded into Minecraft or not.
And besides that, looking up into the sky and seeing a dragon gracefully soaring in the distance would be so majestic.
Increasing your render distance is a simple, modless way to do it. If vanilla max render distance is still too small, then simply install Optifine.

In the config, can you add some options for the dragons? Such as an option similar to how wolves react when you move to far.
