Because the egg is not hatching and I've been wait for more than 3 days.
I don't know why, but I clicked that link and my virus protection immediately popped up with a huge Ransom Ware (I think it was called) warning upon entering the site.
Edit: I saw the pic before exiting and it really is a good set up. I make it like a kiddie pool so when they hatch they can't climb out, but I always leave my character standing over it and they hatch within minutes. So plop it down next to your work shop or even inside your base so you will be up close to it while you're crafting or whatever, like within 5 blocks of it, and it might be more likely to hatch. I've never had the "HELP, MY EGGS WON'T HATCH!" issue. But I've also never left my eggs and went elsewhere.
Edit: I also like to make the shallow spot where the eggs hatch where I work, but have it connected to deeper water so they can go out and swim in a larger pool with high sides. It's really cute.

did we all forget that Basilisks are also notoriously known for being the most poisoness of reptiles? maybe give it wither+hunger+health poison effect to its standard attacks would be fine, i mean; even in other games where these buggers pop up, its not always their gaze that kills you; its the fact their highly poisoness. In more gases their depicted to have a hypnotic gave that distracts you while they strike at your quickly like a viper, hitting you with the fatal bite that ultimately kills you from the inside out. actually many more sources then not mention its poison rather then a gaze that can kill, and if the legends of the creature *are* based around the actions of Asiatic type snakes; then the glare is metaphorical because it distracts the victim while the attack moves in for the swift killing bite.
also; enderman wig out when you look at them directly, in most cases this leads to instant death for the beginner player or anyone without good gear to protect themselves form the teleporting blitzkrieg, so saying instant death from looking at something isnt exactly "unfair" to the player since a vanilla mob can essentially do this already. though; in all fairness; the instant death glazes from any of the mobs added in later on should have it where it requires the player's crosshairs to be directly on the mob's head/face in survival mod for the instant death, in a similar trigger to what cause the enderman to wig out on the players, because at least that's something the player knows not to do, and would catch on quickly given past experiences with an enderman, because come on, We've all dealt with an enderman at least *once* in a playthough of minecraft, if you haven't; quit playing on peaceful mode and get gud scrub.
but enough about that tangent.
when a 1.12 forge build becomes stable enough, we'll be seeing a 1.12 release of this amazing mod right?
You are right, i agree, i did some research, and the gaze often times was not the killer. Maybe the gaze paralyzes you for 5 seconds, so it can strike you, and you can fight it blind, but be okay, (you know except the paralysis) looking it in the eye.

A mob that's melee attacks have a chance to badly poison you, forcing you to be strategic in your approach of fighting it, while making direct eye contact with it cause paralysis for a brief time leaving you open to its own attacks and the attacks of other hostile mobs. i like the concept; it does seeming best fit a lot of traditional accounts behind the legends of the basilisk. Hopefully the staff like the idea as much as i do and attempt to include it in a future update among the already planned ideas.
and the Dragons fly away and never come back to there nests when they are agroed
tell me something; have you tried increasing the spawn rate of dragons via the configuration file for the mod? the rate at which you'll find tier 5 dragons drastically increases depending how you tweak it, meaning the odds of finding a female tier 5 dragon who has an egg with her are much higher. also, big hint, the darker they are in color, the older you can tell they are, the older they are the more likely there a tier 5. so if you see say a fire dragon that's mostly black in coloration, its likely a tier 5. at that point its a 50/50 chance of being female. meaning its a 50/50 chance of getting an egg' - bug even if ya don't get an egg, you'll still get some good loot off it. -- and you can raid its cave for all the rare ores, so its not a total loss finding a male. actually for some reasons the male tier fives seem to have more gold/silver in their caves (fire/ice dragons respectively) then the females, so ya know, there's a lot of uses for those things with the right tech mods XD
My only advise to folks is, before you hatch your dragons, make the following items. A dragon whistle, dragon command staff, and a dragon horn. the whistle to call them back to your side if they wander too far, the command staff so you can make them sit or stay in a set location instead of them wandering off blindly. and lastly the horn so you can recall them to store them away until your ready to summon them someplace, good for inter-dimensional travel of the dragon itself, as well as knowing you wont lose it when your not using it/taking care of it.
also im not entirely sure if its included with this mod or another one im using but i keep finding name tags with names already on them; a very nice touch i must say, being able to name the dragon without the fuss of making a name tag is nice, even more the fact that the pre-generated names are pretty epic. My very first fire dragon hatchling's name is "Nickolas". and im pretty sure i found the name tag in one of the chests in the same cavern as the dragon i got the egg from' so kudos on that if that is a feature that's part of this mod
and if its another mods doing then i'll just have to figure it out later' XD
on another note; the skeletons of dragons are literally alive until you get within two chunks of it then they fall to the ground and take an inert state. seriously, if you go into a desert with your view setting at 12+ you can occasionally see a few of said dragon skeletons up and about moving like a living breathing fire dragon. clearly a bug; but its funny because it reminds me of the old skyrim bug where the mannequins would start walking about at random between load screens in your homes. XD
as for the mention of the hearts and meats need to be able to be used for something, i agree, we should be able to cook the meat into something edible. i mean we can put 4 of them around bones and make dragon meal from said meat so the claim of any meat is already busted there, speaking of which the bestiary notes said the fishing spear can be used to get fish, which can be used to keep our dragons fed, the fishing spear doesn't appear to work for me, and i cant use fish of any kind with bones to make dragon meal. so again, the claim that *any meat* seems to be be busted atm.
as for the dragon hearts; i recommend making a recipe to turn a set amount into dragon blood needed to make the breeding brews for the tamed dragons. because those villages are stubborn with giving trades for dragon's blood.
also, it would make since, its a dragon's heart for pete's sake, it should have *some blood* in it still when you receive it from said slayed dragons.
Nah, the dragon heart should let you gain the power of dragons breath temporarily by crafting it with dragon blood of the same type. Ice lets you shoot ice and summon ice balls at the cost of 30 seconds of the status effect, same thing for fire but with fire.

...but if you raise your dragon to stage/tier 3 or higher; you can simply mount on it ; fly threw the sky and have it use its breath attacks for as many times as ya like, so the player having breathe attacks seems redundant. at least with the hearts being used to make dragon's blood you get a critical ingrediant needed for breeding your male & female dragons'

Yeah, you should be able to squeeze blood out of the heart and then throw away the shriveled organ, since it has no other use.

I like the idea for using dragon hearts to breed dragons, I posted an idea on github on using dragon hearts to create a talisman you can use to help you find dragons( would fly towards the nearest dragon, handy for finding ones underground in their lairs).
i need a way to take my dragon to the end for enderdragon battle XD
You can use the dragon horn on your dragon to bind it to the horn, then once in the end you can use it there to summon your dragon and fight the ender dragon with it.
Shift-clicking a dragon now opens its inventory; normal clicking a dragon mounts it.
Dragon down key and dragon dismount key switched; shift dismounts and X brings the dragon down.
Ice And Fire is no longer a core mod
Dragons not breathing fire fixed
Dragons switching back to their previous location before being ridden fixed
Dragon health and damage now configurable
Fixed flute texture facing wrong direction
Config for dragons being able to suffocate in walls
Fixed dragon eggs not being consumed when placed down in the world
Wild Dragons will now agro to nearby players who break gold/silver piles or open nearby chests.
Dragon flight AI has been improved so that they will no longer continue to fly into walls, configurable as this version could possibly be slower for some old PCs.
Fixed issue with AE2 where item textures would all be missing

for those who've been struggling to find a dragon egg in the past; i've some good news~! it seems the creator of the TOP add-ons mod has gotten around to implementing extra data; so when the player is using one of the probes from TheOneProbe, they will be able to see the Tier/Stage of any dragon and its gender simply by looking at it with a probe. this isn't to say your going to get an egg guaranteed, but it no doubt greatly help you to know whether or not the dragon you find *might* have an egg' - perfect timing given the new update
The new Ice and Fire update is pretty awesome~! i had to disable flight AI due to hard core lag though >.<' - which i'm grateful there was a feature to disable that :3
by the way, whats the easiest way to hatch a ice dragon? I can hatch fire dragons in mere seconds from the nest i've established for them but i'm not having as much luck with the ice dragons, they don't seem to hatch in the established nest i've created specifically for ice dragons. you think with ice and snow and a water block that would be enough for it but even after 3 in game days, they refuse to hatch for me in my current world.
and i'll list my nest set up fore fire dragon eggs right here in case some folks are having a rough time hatching their own

The X's are lava placed 1 block into the ground so their not flowing all over the place. the o's represent blocks of gold placed in between the 4 things of lava. and in the center, netherrack. i simply light that baby up and place the egg on top of the netherrack and those fire dragon eggs spins like tops in the flames! takes about 1 min real time for them to hatch for me' - it turns out more effective then the mentioned method in the bestiary since its merely 1 min real time rather then 3 in game days for them to hatch.

Great mod! Only problem that i noticed is the dragons don't seem to like being underground, or Half slabs.
Pretty much all of the stage 4 and 5 dragons i've encountered have suffocated themselves inside their cavern. And when i had a baby dragon it suffocated on carpet and half slabs when it grew
Can't wait for the next release though!

two things.
1) have you updated to the recently released version?
2) did you remember to delete the old configuration file before the current release?
the new version added a feature to fix the suffocation issue, but if your still using the older configuration file from the version prior to the current update that feature wont be in the configuration file yet until the file is renew via deleting the old file and running the game as normal with the current update.
by default the suffocation is disabled in the new configuration file is generated from the current version's jar file.
there wasn't instructions to do this but i did it this way for myself because other mods in the past have taught me its best to clear the a configuration file out when a brand new update replaces old features and adds new features within the configurations for its mod.
if this doesn't work for fixing the suffocation for tier 4 & 5 dragons that you've reported please let us know, i'm certain the staff of this mod would be willing to help you out further if my instructions were insufficient in helping you fix this issue in your minecraft 1.11.2 world
Unfortunately i didn't check for more recent updates before commenting, whoops!
I have since updated to 1.1.1 but i haven't been to a cavern since i updated the mod, So we'll see. So far i haven't really seen any problems, aside from the stage 2 dragon getting hurt when it grows. But that may be fault of my own. I'll have to mess around with the cave i built my dragons.
I haven't deleted the old Config file but it looks like it just updated and overwrote the old one, If i keep having problems i'll try that. Thanks for the help! Can't wait for more awesome creatures from this mod. (Now i just need to get it on a server haha.)

Hey I just found a weird underground structure, while searching for an ice dragon, I found a underground crypt thing, inside zombies and skeletons spawned at an insane rate. There was some stained glass windows in part of it forming the shape of a christian cross, has anyone else found one of these?
