An update from me, I finally got the framerates I was looking for. Running with nice sharp shadows, 1.5x render res, and most effects enabled at a very solid 30 fps. This shader is so gorgeous.
I have a question for some shader savvy people now. I'm making a resource pack specifically for continuum, and I need to know what maps this pack supports, in what file formats. Currently I have normal and specular maps for my ores, and they look great, but I need to know how to make certain surfaces ONLY use the specular map while it's raining (like how the grass looks with "specular on every texture pack" is on). I ccan make speculars, but they are always on, making the grass sparkle when its dry...
So:
1. What maps does continuum support (normal, spec, height, dudv, ao, etc)
2. With those maps, what file types can be loaded by continuum/optifine? Is it png only? Can I use tga?
3. What are the name extensions for each supported map (specular_s, normal_n, etc.) or does it not matter?
4. How do I make state based mapping (not sure what it's called, but only using certain maps under certain conditions)?
5. Is embedded mapping supported? If so, what maps can be embedded into what maps?
TIA
A little preview at my almost completed ores:
Depends on which continuum version you mean, PBR or not. Normal maps end in es_n and specular in _s. They can ONLY be PNG. TGA cant be used. Different channels of the specular map are for different aspects. I know in SEUS the green channel is for rain time specular (if my memory serves me correct. One of the devs can answer what each channel does.

Hey, I just wanted to post a little 'update' of sorts, about Shaders being broken with the latest Nvidia drivers. Nvidia has since updated from the first time it occurred (Driver 368.22) and it is still broken, in version 368.39 right now. Here's a screenshot:
So, I hope that this means one of the Continuum devs will look into finding a fix for this now. Nvidia seems to be unaware that they've broken anything; that said, I highly doubt they're even remotely aware of SEUS, or that Shaders for MineCraft even exist lol. They're more concerned about triple-A games, like Overwatch.
Slight refresher for anyone curious, can be found here page 21. On that note... lol. Does anyone here know how I might go about downgrading my driver? I've honestly never looked into it. I was playing without Shaders this entire time, in the hopes that Nvidia would fix their issue or that a Continuum Developer would find a fix. It appears that neither have happened yet. (See edit)
Edit: I guess the newest release of Continuum 1.2 Non-PBR has been updated; not the older one that I like. So, I have a different request than the question about downgrading my driver... What exactly was changed, in what files? I'd be more than happy to edit the files myself, to apply the fix to the version I'm using.
I cannot run any of the 1.2 versions; Stazza can attest to this, as they've tried to help me figure it out. Only the 1.8.9 Preview2 version has decent fps. Anything newer, results in absolutely awful unplayable 20-30fps. So, my above question is rather important to me. (See my second edit.)
Edit2: ... and now, I feel like an idiot. Please just ignore everything I just said. I tried the 1.2.2 Non-PBR release that is listed on the Facebook page and my fps is 40-50 at the Ultra preset. I'm uncertain what was happening to make my Fps so unbearably low before. >.<

Both versions. I've been using non PBR, as Ive found with the settings I can use, I don't really get that much difference with PBR, so I've been making the textures for non. BUT, if the PBR version supports more map types, or something advantageous, I'd prefer to make them for that.
Does it have to be "...es_n"? I've been using just "..._n" and they seem to work. Any idea what the difference is between the two suffixes?
And THANK YOU! I have been practically killing myself trying to figure that out. Now I can make stone wet in the rain, but just barely shimmer in the sun, finally. Any idea what the red channel is for? I've seen it's used quite a bit in the more mainstream packs (chroma for example). Which devs, sues or continuum? (I might just contact the guy doing the pulchra pack tbh)
The shader mod itself only loads normal maps: <texture name>_n.png (NOT _es_n)
and specular maps: <texture name>_s.png (their color channels are now used for PBR)
...
That video did help quite a bit, but does that mean that the green ISN'T used for rain spec, like @Strum355 said it was? If not, how do you specifically change the specular for rain?
So then really, PBR textures should be shaderpack specific? When releasing my texture, would it be best to offer the extra maps as a separate zip, and have a different zip for each shader supported?
Most shaders these days do rain reflections automatically without the use of textures. For continuums pbr red is roughness/gloss, green is metal, blue is emissive.
Most other shaders use red for intensity, green is unkown to me haha, and blue for metalness i believe. My v2 uses only red

Well your help has been greatly appreciated. My textures should look a lot better now
Do anyone except the author know the solution to fix both shaders.. PBR and non-PBR? i would like to use them, but i can wait until a temporary solution is found, so i won't able to use them for a while.
PBR has Composite2.fsh error
non-pbr is unknown. no error message. but the screen is all white.. with some coloring
Hey man! I loved your Super Shaders, and this looks like an even cooler pack. However, I get the composite:2 error in this pack just like in all other SEUS or SEUS based packs. You know, the white screen or sometimes the pretty colors that aren't so cool when you're trying to play games with them. I am running a GTX 970 if that's important to know. Thanks a ton!
EDIT: It looks like I have to go to an earlier version of the Nvidia driver. Is this the only solution?

There is a new 1.2.2 version of continuum that has fixed this problem with the nvidia driver, the pbr version is up on the website but the non-pbr version is only available on facebook in one of the posts.
Try the one from their facebook, its newer and has fixes for latest nvidia drivers which caused issues for many shaders
I think i got the latest one from the facebook.. but the latest one doesn't work for me..
EDIT: ok i was playing around the option in Continuum PBR shader, and i found something more detail..
so when i am looking at the sun.. it was perfect, shader was working.. but when i am looking to the right, i get blue screen.. but if its left, i get black screen.
do anyone know what caused it..
Continuum Shader PBR is only one that doesn't give me an error.. but non-PBR from the facebook, like i said dont work for me.. has Composite2.fsh error.

Alright, if anyone could help me find out why its not working.. and i have some new details. it wasn't looking right or left.. it was looking down or up..
when i looked down at the dirts... it was black/blue/yellow depends what direction i am heading.. but when i look up at the sky it was working perfect no matter what direction i am heading.. i just look around.. looking at the sky.
i hope someone could help me so i can use these shader...

The colour channels have always been used for spec maps...PBR or not.
There is still only _n and _s, for continuum PBR too.
