hmm dang :L i no its for cinematics but it be really nice just for use while i build or etc :L
i mean i got 64Gb Memory, Asus Rampage motherboard, i7 5690x but :L idk if that helps my case.
probably not i guess ill just need to do a test when i get my pc in the mail
whats the "best" Shaders for gameplay or 2nd best over all that would be a runner up to this shader pack
Well i doubt you have 64gb of memory.
but for gameplay it probably is this:
Sonic eithers ultra or normal (80-100 frames on your card)
continuum normal or ultra (60 frames on your card)
CYBOXshaders ultra (100-120 frames on your card)
There are plenty others but those are just a few.

what would be a good spec for pc if i want to use this as gameplay shader?
Well the only thing you want to focus on when using minecraft shaders is the GPU.
There are a few Continuum versions to choose from so starting with ULTRA, to get close to playable fps you will need a GTX 980ti or TITAN X and depending on your saved world you should get about 40-50fps+
With the HIGH version you would need a GTX 970/GTX 770 or GTX 780 to get close to playable fps at about 40-50fps
the STANDARD version you would need a GTX 660/GTX 580 or there abouts to get 50+fps
the MEDIUM and LOW versions you will need a GTX 560/GTX 570 or higher to get about 50+ fps
All these fps are a guess (and some testing with my old GTX 570) and are dependent on what saved world you are in, now if you are looking at getting a new PC or just a new video card I would recommend a GTX 960 or a GTX 770 as a minimum but really a GTX 970 or higher would be best.
and lastly the STANDARD version is the main version if you want a good solid fps for just gameplay as it has most features for a great shader experience, the HIGH version adds POM/Specular and Volumetric clouds and the ULTRA version has better shadows.
I use a GTX 980 and the STANDARD version gets me an AVG of 70+ fps and can even get over 100fps
Hope this has helped you out some, any more questions I will be more than happy to answer.

and yes im aware i need a better power supply and better cooler those were placeholders for the ones i have at home are better than the ones i bought
also those are exactly the 3 shaders i was looking at rudoplays shaders.
and i was also debating to make a revamped shader mod of my own that would have colored lighting presets that were configurable in game;
example is glowstone light would be yellow, lava orange light, end rods have a white light with purple hue, torchs have yellow orange light, sun light is white, sea laterns give off turquoise light and any light going through color glass becomes that tint,
only issue is well im still on my laptop and my friend doesnt even have an amazing pc either and we switched the light to volumetric dynamic lighting and well that dropped my pcs fps from 40fps to 8fps :L and we attempted to try color lighting and it works but drops my pc fps to a stuttering 2fps sooo...
i either need to learn better coding or best not mess with volumetric clouds and lighting xD
was a cool concept though :L
I wonder what if I want to play at far render distance. For example, 32 at its extreme with your highest shader setting, which is ultra. Then what spec would I need? I attached one build. Would you mind to kinda predict how well this will perform?

Sorry to say but no PC could run Continuum ULTRA at the max render distance as it's just too much for the GPU to handle, well at a playable frame rate. The shaders only use your GPU and the rest of minecraft uses your CPU, as for RAM you should only set 2Gb to Java/minecraft as any more and it will start to lag and Sutter. From all the testing I have done over the last 2 or so years I would recommend setting your render distance at no higher than 10 normal for general gameplay, any more is really only if you want to take nice pictures or make a video. When I play I have the render distance set at 8 normal so all the fps avg I get is with this distance.
EDIT: as for how well this system will perform, since your getting a GTX 980ti you have a look at what im getting and add an extra 10 to 15 fps more and thats what you might get as Im using a GTX 980
Continuum ULTRA with Render Distance set at 8 Normal
Continuum ULTRA Render distance 32 ultra
Continuum ULTRA Render distance 8 Normal when raining
Gotcha. Thx again. What do you mean by set only 2GB to Minecraft? I'm sorry if I understand this incorrectly. Are you saying that setting more than 2 GB will actually slow down or lag the game?

and even if a GTX 980 ti 2-way SLI won't handle for example, render distance at 12 ?
if you use MagicLauncher, click the setup tab and then the Advance tab and in there you can set the momory to 2048 (2GB) and yes it will actually cause some problems to the game and really you dont need any more than 2GB trust me
unfortunatly the shaders mod it self doesnt support SLI or CrossFire so it only uses one GPU for the shaders BUT if it did support it it would only increase the fps by about 20fps on avg.
Check my previous post as I edited it to include some pics of the fps im getting with my GTX 980
What problems will setting RAM to higher than 2GB cause? Are those problems affect FPS? or some other aspect of performance?
I've looked at your pictures. That's the best demonstration! I consider anything that's above 24 fps as playable framerate :D. Does setting to 32 render distance fluctuation below 24 fps? or you are showing the slowest fps ? XD

Well setting the RAM higher can but not always cause some lag and stuttering. 24 would be average fps with 32 render distance, depending on your saved world it can be a bit higher or lower, example if you have a complex world with lots of detailed buildings and or lots of trees and red stone you could see your fps drop substantially like 10fps and under (find the download of the saved world kings landing game of thrones for a complex world that will kill your fps) or you could have a simple world that has little amount of trees and buildings and you could see your fps go up to 40fps or there abouts.
I have a few suggestions for this shader! but I don't have a facebook. So I was hoping I could say it here. ok here they are.
1. multidirectional lighting. (so lets say if you have a glowing block beside another block the glowing block will make the other block have a shadow)
2. Colored stained glass shadows.
3. Ripple effects in the water when you go in it. (when char. would walk in the water, ripples would appear going away from him.)
4. directional wind!
5. Make it when you look at things that emit light, they have sorta a glare to them (like a sun lense) but its just like a very faint rainbow around it.

1. I wish thus was possible but until/unless karyonix/sp14#x comes out with multiple shadow map support.
2. Not sure about this one but pretty sure not possible
3. Ripple effects working on
4. Also working on.
5. Good idea, not sure if possible but will look into it
So as I'm playing with the shader I'm noticing a lot of code that isn't being used, and a bunch of little bugs, thinking as we are tuning up vollight and caustics I can work on some cleaning and tuning. If anyone has done any bug fixes to the shader I'd love to see them, they will probably end up in the shader.

would dynamic weather and clouds and cloud shadows be possible. example when it starts raining it gets cloudy in like 2 seconds and when it stops it gets clear in 2 seconds
are you able to make the clouds better and increase the render distance of the clouds and dynamic clouds based on environment and time of day.
and having the ability to see rain clouds in the distance before and after it rains?

Yes, from 1.6.4 to 1.8.8
GTX 960 GTX 970, GTX 980 or a Titan X.
All of those can run it quite well on normal and low, so something in that strength range.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply! Yeah, I'll definitely play on this shader when I decide on the machine.
thx again but umm here just to show i have 4 ripjaws each with 16gb:

no.2 is possible. he requested it in my shader. i totally can't do it but someone else did it instead, it's AirLoocke. you might want to contact him.
