Keeping Inventory is a mod made for modpacks that want the player to progress without the worry of inventory loss on death, and creepers destroying builds. It will automatically disable mobGriefing, and enable keepInventory every time you start a world. Both of these features can be disabled or enabled in the config file.
You can find the source code here, and please post any issues you find here.
Note: I'm semi-abandoning this mod. I don't care for it or use it anymore. I'll still keep it up to date with the newest minecraft version, but no more features will be added.

Changed coloration on chat text.
Fixed the bug where people with vanilla minecraft couldn't join worlds with Keeping Inventory installed.
Fixed Broken Pipe when used on a server.
Updated the mcmod.info file.
If you enter a world where keepInventory is off, then in the chat it says "Your inventory will not be kept on death".
If you enter a world where mobGriefing is on, then in the chat it says "Creepers will destroy blocks".
"Creepers will not destroy blocks" is also displayed every time you open a world with Keeping Inventory installed.
"Your inventory will now be kept on death" is displayed every time you open a world with Keeping Inventory installed.
Fixed a very big bug.
Config file added.
Config file located at config/Silly511/KeepingInventory.cfg.
You can type /gamerule keepInventory false if you have cheats on. But the next time you log into the world it will just turn it back on. However you could turn keepInventory off with that command and then unistall the mod. If you don't have cheats on then you could Open to LAN and then you run the command.
I have a suggestion for this mod, since it seems rather simple at the moment.
Would it be possible to make it so the mod only drops some of your inventory on death. For example depending on how much of a certain item you had it would drop a percentage of it.
Lets say you have these Items in your inventory: 1 Diamond Sword, 1 Diamond Pick, 3 Diamond Axes, 10 cakes, 40 Dirt, 200 cobble, and 60 golden apples.
Then you fall in a lava pool and die a horrible death.
Items that you only have one of do not drop upon your death, (If they are tools they could loose a certain amount of durability) and after that items drop a certain percentage rounded up: (Im gonna say the equation is (#Items-1)*(2) = % (Capping at lets say dropping 40% of your items.))
Your Items after Respawning would be: 1 Diamond Sword, 1 Diamond Pick, 2 Diamond Axes, 8 cakes, 24 Dirt, 120 cobble, and 36 golden apples.
You still loose alot of your items however it is no where near as bad as loosing all of them.
Anyway I hope you consider my suggestion. Have a good day!
It is a nice suggestion, and I would add it if I could. You see, all Keeping Inventory does is turn on the keepInventory gamerule, which is from minecraft itself, not my mod. So I would have to edit base minecraft classes, which is one of the hardest things to do in modding. And I am only a beginner modder.

is there any way to add doFireTick to this mod? Im terrible at remembering to put in gamerules.
I recently spent days building a huge nice town. Have elemental witches mod, was a fire witch not to close to my town but i could see it on journey map, went to kill it came back started working on town again heard fire, my massive 5 story inn was burning down, tried to put it out was already to late so tried to minimize screen and see if i could move my save file and maybe it hadnt saved yet (have a mod that limits how often mincraft saves) it saved at the point right before i started trying to put it out hah. cant find any decent mods that stop fire from burning blocks so guess i need to just turn on the gamerule even though i dont care for it, just dont want my towns burning down, have creepers and tnt explosions off for the same reason didnt think to turn off fire as i didnt expect fire to be a problem stupid me i guess lol.
