Hi DrCyano and gang!
Big fan of your mods. Lootable Bodies is by far the best death chest mod. Excited to try out your new tech mods, now that I've learned of them
Possible Bug Report: I was just messing with the Steam set ups in creative to make sure I understand how everything works and I believe I ran into a little bug. I just retested and thankfully I've narrowed it down a bit.
I have a Steam-Powered Furnace fed by a vanilla hopper. If I put more than 1 stack of Coal in the hopper, first the fuel slot in the furnace will fill with Coal, but if the inputs are all empty the coal will begin to flow into the input slots. If I put something "unsmeltable" like dirt in the first slot, it flows into the second. If I put food into the input, the coal stops coming in while the food cooks, and starts coming in again once the food is done. I'm not certain if you intended to have the slots filtered, or maybe that is something to come at a later date. I read the entire thread and I know you're working hard on this and your education as well Good Luck!
PS. I think your textures for the mod are really cool. I do however use a lot of mods with the 16x16 resolution, so I hope you don't mind, but I started a little personal resource pack at vanilla resolution. Here's some images with default, 16x, then a little display of the sides of the blocks. I've only done the Coal-Fired Steam Boiler, Steam Boiler Tank, Steam-Powered Furnace, and Brass Steam Pipes, at least at this time. The machines in Electric Advantage are all so sleek they seem to fit in fine with Vanilla even with the 62x resolution

I made an adjustment that made it not crash with Progressive Automation anymore. I also upgraded to Java 8 for the default interface implementations and lambdas.

Ah nice, thanks for the update. I'm using Progressive Automation as well, but haven't experienced any crashes yet.
PS. I've noticed the steam drill moves along the Steel Track and places the Steel Frame over the holes that it drills. This consumes brass pipes though as it goes. Is this an intended cost to operation? To basically lose 1 brass ingot/block traversed? It's not a huge cost, just asking.
I do appreciate the method for getting the drill to move automatically, especially considering the need to constantly be fed by steam it's a pretty ingenious solution. I've got my head around it now, but it seems a little confusing to set up at first (Initially I thought the drill had to hang from the track.) Personally I am not as worried about the drill falling down a hole. I don't feel like I really have a good alternative to the current method though.
As an aside, an epic and OP farm idea came to mind when I was waking up today. I imagined a pumpkin and sugar cane farm where a drill on a track would pass horizontally down the farm, collecting and grown pumpkins (and breaking/collecting sugar cane at the second block height.) I was quite excited to find that the drill will in fact pick pumpkins and sugar cane. In my test build I realized the drill won't reuse the track to move back and forth. Just as well, the drill covering the crops half the time probably would have made the rates pretty crumby anyway Maybe if the drill would accept a redstone signal (like from a level attached) to go ahead of back, that would add some uses. But really, I suppose it's not meant to be a crop/tree farming tool lol.
That's a creative use for the drill.The drill places a steam pipe in its previous location, so the net cost is zero.I like to place a drill high over a spruce tree sapling and then flick the drill on/off each time I bonemeal the tree into existance. If you're really ambitious, you could plant a row of trees and have a stack of 5 drills facing sideways to harvest the entire tree farm all at once.

I must say DrCyano, this mod has a lot of potential! I am putting it in my upcoming unnamed pack. I will for sure do a mod spotlight of this on my channel. Expect it next week. I've seen the other mod spotlights of this mod and Electric Advantage are both in spanish XD.
This mod with HopperDucts, Open Computers, and Neotech adds up to some extremely complex builds. Keep up the good work. Please, please for the love of the Minecraft community; DO NOT GIVE UP ON THIS MOD WHENEVER IT COMES TO VERSION UPDATES!

Never mind, found a fix, Power Advantage has an RF option in the config( For cross mod compatability, i feel it should be true on default
I'll make it default to true after I figure out how to differentiate RF tile entity blocks from other blocks. Currently, turning on automatic RF handling will make all tile entity blocks from all other mods connect to pipes and cables, even if they are not RF machines.
The challenge is that Power Advantage is block-oriented and RF is tile-entity-oriented.
However, from the looks of that error message, it seems that the author of NeoTech is trying to use the Power Advantage API without the RF conversion and hadn't yet worked out all of the bugs. Try updating NeoTech and I think it will work with automatic RF conversion disabled.

That's a creative use for the drill.The drill places a steam pipe in its previous location, so the net cost is zero.I like to place a drill high over a spruce tree sapling and then flick the drill on/off each time I bonemeal the tree into existance. If you're really ambitious, you could plant a row of trees and have a stack of 5 drills facing sideways to harvest the entire tree farm all at once.
EDIT: Ohhh, I re-positioned my lever, now it's working! Before I couldn't find a way to retract the drill. Awesome, thanks for that. Now the melon/sugar farm can rise again

Doc, I'm amazed you've made like 6 mods, most of them pretty advanced. Your textures are also really good, have you ever considered making a texturepack?
Yep, I'm impressed as well. Your mods have pretty much become the center of my server for all things mechanical. I see the progression from steam to electricity. Are you considering going "backward" at all, and by that I mean to kinetic energy based machines like Archimedes screws, waterwheels, and windmills, with their connectors being pulleys, cogs, and axles. Those would be particularly cool as early game advancements. I'd particularly like them as multi-block structures, to simulate that less advanced tech takes up more space.
I think Waterwheels and windmills would me awesome. I would love to see a water system like they had in Better Than Wolves where the only water source blocks were generated with the world and the buckets you put down would be a finite source and dwindle away with the rest of the water. Adds to the difficulty and would require players to make systems like aqueducts. I would love to see kinetic energy become a thing with gears pulleys. It would be a more fluid progression in tech instead of going from burning coal straight to hot water air (steam).
Another suggestion in which i think would be cool would to have a converter block that would be the central hub to transfer PA power to RF. I was reading the config and I saw that turning B:attempt_automatic_rf_compatibility being turned to true could cause lag. So to reduce lag i think a block that would turn PE power to RF power would be easier on the game itself and would make compatibility with RF a lot easier too. You could have the "Electric Power Cable" on one side going in and on the opposing facing tile of the block be compatible with things like FluxDucts and the NeoTech energy extractions as well as other RF based mods. I'm assuming it would be easier on you as the programmer too DrCyano due to the fact you don't have to completely rewrite the code for RF support; you said the mod is block based and RF is tile based. I hope my suggestion along with Erain_7 can make it into the mod, I again can't wait til some compatibility bugs are fixed so that I can finally push out my modpack!

Possible Bug Report: I was just messing with the Steam set ups in creative to make sure I understand how everything works and I believe I ran into a little bug. I just retested and thankfully I've narrowed it down a bit.
I have a Steam-Powered Furnace fed by a vanilla hopper. If I put more than 1 stack of Coal in the hopper, first the fuel slot in the furnace will fill with Coal, but if the inputs are all empty the coal will begin to flow into the input slots. If I put something "unsmeltable" like dirt in the first slot, it flows into the second. If I put food into the input, the coal stops coming in while the food cooks, and starts coming in again once the food is done. I'm not certain if you intended to have the slots filtered, or maybe that is something to come at a later date. I read the entire thread and I know you're working hard on this and your education as well

PS. I think your textures for the mod are really cool. I do however use a lot of mods with the 16x16 resolution, so I hope you don't mind, but I started a little personal resource pack at vanilla resolution. Here's some images with default, 16x, then a little display of the sides of the blocks. I've only done the Coal-Fired Steam Boiler, Steam Boiler Tank, Steam-Powered Furnace, and Brass Steam Pipes, at least at this time. The machines in Electric Advantage are all so sleek they seem to fit in fine with Vanilla even with the 62x resolution

PS. I've noticed the steam drill moves along the Steel Track and places the Steel Frame over the holes that it drills. This consumes brass pipes though as it goes. Is this an intended cost to operation? To basically lose 1 brass ingot/block traversed? It's not a huge cost, just asking.
I do appreciate the method for getting the drill to move automatically, especially considering the need to constantly be fed by steam it's a pretty ingenious solution. I've got my head around it now, but it seems a little confusing to set up at first (Initially I thought the drill had to hang from the track.) Personally I am not as worried about the drill falling down a hole. I don't feel like I really have a good alternative to the current method though.
As an aside, an epic and OP farm idea came to mind when I was waking up today. I imagined a pumpkin and sugar cane farm where a drill on a track would pass horizontally down the farm, collecting and grown pumpkins (and breaking/collecting sugar cane at the second block height.) I was quite excited to find that the drill will in fact pick pumpkins and sugar cane. In my test build I realized the drill won't reuse the track to move back and forth. Just as well, the drill covering the crops half the time probably would have made the rates pretty crumby anyway
Maybe if the drill would accept a redstone signal (like from a level attached) to go ahead of back, that would add some uses. But really, I suppose it's not meant to be a crop/tree farming tool lol.
That's a creative use for the drill.The drill places a steam pipe in its previous location, so the net cost is zero.I like to place a drill high over a spruce tree sapling and then flick the drill on/off each time I bonemeal the tree into existance. If you're really ambitious, you could plant a row of trees and have a stack of 5 drills facing sideways to harvest the entire tree farm all at once.

I ran into an issue with NeoTech and the Electric cables. I was trying to put energy into the NeoTech RF Energy cell with the electric cables from your mod, it crashed as soon as energy was being stored. Here is the crash report.
Never mind, found a fix, Power Advantage has an RF option in the config( For cross mod compatability, i feel it should be true on default
I'll make it default to true after I figure out how to differentiate RF tile entity blocks from other blocks. Currently, turning on automatic RF handling will make all tile entity blocks from all other mods connect to pipes and cables, even if they are not RF machines.
The challenge is that Power Advantage is block-oriented and RF is tile-entity-oriented.
However, from the looks of that error message, it seems that the author of NeoTech is trying to use the Power Advantage API without the RF conversion and hadn't yet worked out all of the bugs. Try updating NeoTech and I think it will work with automatic RF conversion disabled.

Yep, I'm impressed as well. Your mods have pretty much become the center of my server for all things mechanical. I see the progression from steam to electricity. Are you considering going "backward" at all, and by that I mean to kinetic energy based machines like Archimedes screws, waterwheels, and windmills, with their connectors being pulleys, cogs, and axles. Those would be particularly cool as early game advancements. I'd particularly like them as multi-block structures, to simulate that less advanced tech takes up more space.
I think Waterwheels and windmills would me awesome. I would love to see a water system like they had in Better Than Wolves where the only water source blocks were generated with the world and the buckets you put down would be a finite source and dwindle away with the rest of the water. Adds to the difficulty and would require players to make systems like aqueducts. I would love to see kinetic energy become a thing with gears pulleys. It would be a more fluid progression in tech instead of going from burning coal straight to hot water air (steam).
Another suggestion in which i think would be cool would to have a converter block that would be the central hub to transfer PA power to RF. I was reading the config and I saw that turning B:attempt_automatic_rf_compatibility being turned to true could cause lag. So to reduce lag i think a block that would turn PE power to RF power would be easier on the game itself and would make compatibility with RF a lot easier too. You could have the "Electric Power Cable" on one side going in and on the opposing facing tile of the block be compatible with things like FluxDucts and the NeoTech energy extractions as well as other RF based mods. I'm assuming it would be easier on you as the programmer too DrCyano due to the fact you don't have to completely rewrite the code for RF support; you said the mod is block based and RF is tile based. I hope my suggestion along with Erain_7 can make it into the mod, I again can't wait til some compatibility bugs are fixed so that I can finally push out my modpack!
