This is a simple mod I made because I usually play in full screen and am too lazy to reach for my phone/watch/etc. to check the time.
It displays the system time on the HUD, toggleable with a keybinding (default is 'c'). The position, size, color and time format (12/24h) are configurable.
Make a config option that if set would allow us to for the game itself to synchronize with system time. That is have the sun arc equally slow across the sky as it does in the real world. Perhaps even go so far as to allow us to punch in the coordinates that "The Weather Channel", "Weather Underground" and "Accuweather" when determining our geo-locations so as to get our sunrise and sunset data. Naturally this will be daunting as you will have to ensure that Minecraft continues to operate at the proper speed. Again, if you are going to do this, might as well poll to see what the cloud cover looks like.
Imagine if you will, 24 real life game hours, approximately 12 of which will be creeper filled. Oh, if you are gonna do this, I'd make bed sleeping be limited to 8 hours so the player will still have at least 4 hours of night to deal with somewhere.

Somehow, I think Y_Zi might've been trying to convey this topic.

Interesting idea, but waaaaaaay beyond the goal of this mod.
I guess it should be possible to get the weather and set it ingame, as well as the apparent daytime (Mystcraft sets the weather and daylight, but I think there is still a day/night cycle even in eternal night/day ages so it messes up some other mods)
Also, wouldn't that get a little boring? Imagine the things that require it to be day/night in the general progression of the game...
Solved by reenabling daycycle (/gamerule doDaylightCycle true)
Completely unrelated to this mod. all this does is get the system time and draw it ingame. (also, daylight cycle happens on the server side of things, while this only loads on the client side)

Nice, simple and useful :D.
Updated on 2015/05/30, mostly fixing bugs, check OP for details.
Good, the author, but I hope I can change time synchronization with real life even better!
What? It displays whatever your system time is.
Also, updated to 1.8 as of today.

I whish it did 12 hour time instead of 24
The config is accessible through the following routes:
The config option you are looking for is use24hours
only problem is that idk how to code ;(
? You just need to click a button to cycle between 24h and 12h mode...
After uninstalling this mod i'm stuck with time flowing. It stopped and now i have always the same daytime.

drop in forge "mods" folder like any other mod. 1.11 version should be coming soon.
how do i go to settings to change it to 12 hours instead of 24 hours?
what would be the config code to change the font to white?
time is delayed by an hour: my system time shows 2:30 am while the clock shows 3:30. any way to fix this?
