DiseaseCraft is a mod that adds new diseases that alter the player's movement and everyday life. These can be achieved by simply hugging a rat, eating raw meat, or exploring long distances. Create medication, which can help you or harm you. Try to survive and thrive as disease and plague sneak towards you at every corner!

Hello world, Mitchellbrine here. And welcome to DiseaseCraft 2. DiseaseCraft 2 is a complete rewrite of my original DiseaseCraft mod, released May 19th 2014. This rewrite stabilizes a lot of the features and fixes a lot of the bugs of DiseaseCraft 1, while adding in a whole new layer of customization that was hinted at near the end of the original lifetime of DiseaseCraft 1 (in version 1.2.0). (Is it possible that any moderators can lock the original thread? I can't figure out how.)

Key Changes in DiseaseCraft 2:
1. JSON Diseases
DiseaseCraft 2 adds in a new way to load and add diseases, making it a lot more user-friendly and friendlier to the modpack or modded map
creator who wishes to use DiseaseCraft. The person is able to change one config option and be immune to getting disease updates from the mod.
Advantages: User-friendly, Me-Friendly
Disadvantages: Disease configs no longer work and the config file needs to be deleted.
2. Modules
DiseaseCraft 2 now separates biological warfare, medication, joke diseases into modules, allowing more organized code on my part and an easily
configurable mod on your part with the DC-modules.cfg
Advantages: User-friendly, Configurability!
Disadvantages: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
3. Dropped per-player temperature
DiseaseCraft 2 no longer has the old temperature system that was out for one beta ( ) It has been dropped and (consequentially) so has Heat Stroke. I found no use in it without temperature (for good reason). Per-player temperature is being replaced by block temperature calculations, which are easier than checking around the player every second to increment their temperature in a direction, as cool as it seemed in my brain.
Advantages: Temperature isn't so annoying and glitchy (because it's not there anymore)
Disadvantages: Fans of Heat Stroke and the temperature way of getting Influenza will hate me.
Any other changes in DiseaseCraft 2 most likely will be added soon (in-game documentation, in which I have a fun idea for, and the Doctor).
(Yes, it is the same download place as DiseaseCraft 1 (on CurseForge), but I wanted a centralized location and it just seemed right)

A: You should at least run the game once with the modules installed and it will generate a DC-modules.cfg in the config folder. From there, find the one you want to disable and replace "true" with "false".

A: There's a file in your config folder called diseaseTranslate.lang. It's a lang file (if you're not familiar with them), which means you put on the first line (or any line for that matter): "disease.[insert name here].name=". Ta-da! It works in-game! But probably won't work when 1.9 comes out, so it might change in a bit.

I really don't feel like adding Ebola. It's become the butt of most of the disease suggestions. It affected too many people and it's too recent. Maybe later, when all the Ebola craziness is long forgotten, I'll add it. In the meantime, you can create it using JSON files.

I suggest doing some research on the effects of Ebola and the symptoms that can be replicated in Minecraft by status effects. And as far as I'm aware, Ebola is tranfered from bats. So, making a "mob" contraction type with bat should work.

Nice to see you updating the mod Especially now that you allow JSON creation of viruses Now I need to find a way to implement curses for my mod with these diseases
What version are you using? (That doesn't sound like the latest)
Using the download from that Curse Widget and it takes me directly to the countdown to download. I've tried going to your other releases and downloading the top ones too.
Shouldn't the journal still be craft-able though? I tried looking for it in the creative mode inventory too. I've tried getting hit by a swarm of zombies multiple times just to get it to work but no-go.

I suggest doing some research on the effects of Ebola and the symptoms that can be replicated in Minecraft by status effects. And as far as I'm aware, Ebola is tranfered from bats. So, making a "mob" contraction type with bat should work.
I'd check out the default JSON file, visible on the GitHub repo. It contains all the ways I use the contracting types.
You can learn about creating diseases from that default JSON.

You can use diseases to get disease by name and then use GenericEffects to apply them to a living entity.
That's basically a way you can apply disease effects. To actually give diseases:

So all the medication from the mod is there but I'm having troubles contracting any diseases and crafting the medical journal.
I'm using the latest version of the mod and I'm using Forge 1399. Tried it earlier on version 1291 too, but no good.

You probably aren't meeting the requirements or are getting really lucky.
The effects you get indicate you have a disease.

1. The journal is coming out in 2.1 (which will come out in the next couple of days). You are using 2.0
2. That's no longer how you get Influenza. You must now be in a cold area, not getting hit by a zombie.
Hehe... ok I guess that was my mistake. I'll try again later to see if I get any results.
