Great idea, the textures are adorable!
Thanks for the kind words, all, and for the downloads. Can't believe we're at 1650 after only 3 days.
We added a bit more detail to the Detailed Pet Guide for those trying to figure out some of the pets (Black Hole, Anvil, Pingot, etc), and some new info about how the pets 'give' items. Hope that makes things clearer.
absolute best mod ever. Definitely doing a mod review
First, I wanted to say that I love the mod. It's suuuuuper frickin' cute and I love the idea behind it as they are fairly useful and there's a good balance mechanic behind it.
Some things within it, however, I am not sure if it was intentional or if they were mistakes. Namely, the recipe to craft certain ones such as the Snow Golem. I can understand if that one required nether quartz to craft, but why nether quartz ore? The actual block itself and not the item??? One would have to get a Silk Touch pickaxe just to craft that one. Not sure if this was intentional. I would either use nether quartz or snowballs for the recipe.
I cannot craft coal nuggets?
The Quantum Crystal Pet gives me fire-resistance II. You have a magma slime pet that already does this, making that one useless unless I really want to walk on lava. The Quantum Pet does not tell you that it will give you fire resist when you mouse over it, just that you can summon minions (which are so cool btw!). May wanna take the fire resist away from that one so that magma slime pet will be ruler of the flames.
Spider pet, whom I love oh-so dearly, gives me immunity to falling damage. Sheep Pet is bothered by this fact, but gives me wool anyway.
Not trying to gripe or nit-pick, no no no no. I'm a mod tester for my friends and I also like to help modders with ideas or anything that would be considered a bug or oopsie.
Other changes I would probably do:
-Make Bed Pet be crafted with wool instead of redstone.
-Pig Pet crafted with cooked porkchops instead of redstone.
-Chest and Crafting Table Pet should go on a diet of planks instead of logs (unless you already attempted to make this work before)
-Anvil Pet should be made with an Anvil on top instead of an iron nugget.
-Iron Golem Pet should be crafted with iron ingots instead of just nuggets (he is a big guy, after all)
ThiefCat! Thanks for the feedback! Really happy you like it, and that you like the game balance (we put a lot of thought into that one). Now, onto the bug report
It's our first release of this mod, so yeah, bugs. We'll squish 'em.
- Snow Golem s/b quartz (not Quartz Ore). We blame type ahead in Eclipse
- Coal Nuggets not craftable. Yeah, known issue. Bug!
- You are right about the QCM Pet. It should not give you fire resistance. The Mini Blaze's fireball is lethal though, and he flies behind you. Getting killed by your pet is no fun, so we threw that in there. But..... there is another way to protect you from those fireballs that doesn't give you Fire Resistance. Will fix, thanks!
- We debated about the Spider Pet fall damage, too. We think there should be some fall damage benefit, but not like the Sheep. Will adjust!
- We'll take under consideration Bed & Pig Pet, and the diet for Chest and Crafting Table (totally doable), and Anvil Pet.
- We like the Iron Golem Pet crafting idea.
Thanks to you, we'll add a Bug Report to the main post. Update coming in about a week
*humble salute*

That bit about the QCM pet giving fire resist suddenly makes sense now lmao! I would hate to be killed by my own pet XD
Other than that, this mod is absolutely amazing and a total must-have! They're just so darn cute!!! <3 <3 <3 Diamonds for you, btw good sir (or madam)
Added in a great new 4-minute mod review from TycerX to the main post. Good stuff!
So, invert it how it is usually, get back arrows you do hit mobs with, but you can no longer pick up arrows on the ground? I have news for you, that's probably easily abused by simply removing the Skeleton pet from your hotbar. You can pick up your missed arrows normally.
Back in these for'ms here, and mods have been updated, mods have been created, and mods have died. The circle of life continues.
Hey, Purplicious_Cow, I wouldn't mind making a banner for this, but I need it to be multiplayer... ^^; When do you think the multiplayer update will be released? Also, what mod compatibility is planned, if you don't mind me asking? I'd love to have some Lycanite's Mobs inventory pets, as well as smaller mods such as Mo' Chickens and Elemental Witches.
Very good mod work! I hope to see multiplayer soon.
If you want the link to any of these mods, due to MCForum restrictions, you can't click to see the mod; instead, just search it. PM me for help.
Mod makers: Feel free to PM me if you want a signature, we can discuss it! They're normally free, though if you do special donator perks for your mod, I normally charge a small fee of gaining those donator perks. I find it to be a fair price. ^^
They said around 2-3 weeks. I'm not sure using mobs from other mods is the right thing for Inventory Pets. There's only so many player enhancements the pets can do. Also, you can only use, at most, is 9 pets at once. I think tweaking the current pets is more ideal than adding any new ones. Most importantly though is server support
I know this, but I would still love to have, perhaps separate packs, that are designed for mods (for example, a Lycanite's Pack or a Primitive Mobs Pack). I personally agree, multiplayer support is definitely the most important, but the pets currently implimented seem perfect to me; I just want more. ^^; That's just a personal thing though.

I did a mod review on this. Amazing. Sorry for the bad quality video I know my videos aren't the best...
Any chance you would add a config option to disable crafting of these pets and only allow finding them in chests?
Yes, we'll add this to the update
AWESOME MOD AND TEXTURES!
If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
500+ huggles? U wot, m8?
even better would be the ability to disable crafting on a per-pet basis
Hey TycerX -
Love your 4 minute review. Can't believe how much you packed in there! A good challenge for the first in what looks like a great series :), and so glad you like it. The bugs on the two recipes were not known so thanks! We launched this mod right before we left for a road trip (to the Purplicious Pastures), not expecting the amazing response we got. Now we're itching to get back at it (and squish a few bugs).
Nycto, now we are envisioning a whole series of Pets Packs, for select mods. It could be done, definitely.... we must chew on this one (after multiplayer).
While we're on the subject, we honestly had toyed with the idea of an easter egg Lucky Pet (texture is actually complete), simply because it seemed like that was the only way to get reviewers' attention lately (Plaid Lucky Block!). We decided we were above that, though. And we ran out of time.
