I have an idea for a pet THE WEREWOLF PET! Im sorry but i do not have a texture here yet. (im not the best at textures) but i have an idea and if you want i will make a texture.
Abilities:
At night the pet turns from a human into a werewolf and that you only get the effects at night
1.Strength and speed
2.Right click to summon wolves to attack for you
Food:Bones/Meat
Now if you want you can make the player turn into a werewolf but that is only a small idea.
I hope you like my idea and i will make a texture if you want me no problem.
~Twingemios
I kind of like this idea, but a few minor and major thoughts and tweaks;
-No summoning wolves. That's just weird.
-It feels odd to put in a werewolf pet before a wolf, but I have pretty few ideas there... (OOH! SHOOT BONES. BEST IDEA. jk .3.)
-The player model thing would be difficult, but so worth.
-Right-click, instead of making wolves, should just make a howling noise.
-Effects are twice as powerful during the full moon, and during the full moon, howl pushes back foes.
-Does not eat during the night of the full moon
-Works 24/7 in the nether, but not at all in the end.
-Possibly as a partial reference to the raging worgen in hearthstone, as well as the way wolves in minecraft get mad when hurt, perhaps a little more powerful if you are not at full health?
found a new bug with the squid pet in 1.8, sometime it flyes you randomly in the air, its really strange and anoying becose if you dont be carefull you fall in the ground and lose all the items. thank god i have the slime pet
p,s i have a suggestion for the magma cube pet, do you think it would be less glichy if it creates couble or obsidian when you walk in lava? becose the way it is i find it glichy sometimes you are stuck in lava or smth like that.
one more thing, i cant seem to be able to open the config option. thanks for making this mod :))))

I've seen that note about the Squid before, but haven't been able to replicate. I'll add it to issues list on github and keep trying. Sounds pretty annoying.
Also looking into the walk on lava issue (and will add to issues). This one I think I know a way to fix.

To elaborate Upon whatever I thought I was saying here, I think that the wolf pet should have the summoning friendly but aggro wolves, but rather than the quantum monster method, it should summon two or three wolves simply by being on your hotbar, and then consume, like the werewolf, meat and bones, but only consume food right after summoning a new wolf. Needing feeding every time. The thing about this is that the wolf pet summons a new wolf, if you have its food, every time one of them dies. This seems like a little bit of an underpowered ability, but 2-3 aggressive buddies who kill things and never die so long as they fight enough skeletons is honestly a really good deal.
Now that those are out of the way, I wanted to expand on an idea I expressed earlier. The cannibalistic pet. This is long and winding, but bear with me.
First of all, an unrelated pet, designed with pvp in mind. This pet shoots a (green?) beam upon rightclick, consuming whatever its food is, that when connecting with a mob, simply doing a small amount of damage, but if it hits a player it then checks if there are any pets in that players inventory and if so, it will cause a random one of them to either consume one of its food units, or go down to zero durability if none is left. It can be fired again pretty quickly provided it is fed, so it's a fairly viable pvp option if inventory pets is in heavy use.
This, obviously, should come with disablability, because it's pretty annoying for pvp combat, but also does some balancing to the inventory pets themselves, whom I personally feel that even with their difficulty of aquisition, are still really only balanced with the more difficult food enabled and the crafting recipes disabled.
Now that that is out of the way, here's my actual idea. A boss monster for inventory pets. I don't have a clear idea in mind of what this thing would look like, or for that matter how it would be summoned or accessed, but my general thought for it is something along the lines of the enderman or botania's gaia gaurdian, fairly humanoid and shadowy, but maybe shorter and bulkier.
This boss would fight using inventory pets. It has a specific collection of about 10 pets, and every time the player deals something like 32 damage to it, it brings out a new pet. It's fairly fast moving, but its actual attack style is based on the pet. For example, if it is using the cloud pet, it will fly around and attempt to hit the player with lightning from far away, but then it will switch to the enderman and attempt to attack you from behind after teleporting there. Because watching its hands for what pet it's weilding would be obnoxious, have an extra large rotating invenotry pet icon show up above its head, rather than in the hand. This way it's easy to tell what it's doing, and easy to see that your attacks are doing anything.
Outline of thoughts on its attacks, maybe not all are brillient ideas, i dunno:
1- Ghast - Runs from the player, snipes with fireballs. Like a ghast, can be persued at a range, or fireballs can be knocked back.
2- Enderman - Teleports behind the player, and charges at them. Should not be able to teleport any closer than 3 blocks, or further than 8.
3- Brewing stand - Boss repeatedly gets random negative spash potions a la witches, to aggress the player with.
4- Pingot - Operates a little differently than the actual pet. Creates far away projectiles that look like ore blocks that then move towards the boss, but damage the player. Creates a lot of them, creating an effect of sucking in all the ore in the world. Be absoluely amazing if the player could walk on these if aproached from above and you could only get to the boss like that, but at that point you might as well also make minecraft emerge from the screen and talk to the player, because you're that kind of coder.
5- Quantum Crystal Monster - Walks away from player fairly slowly, summoning minions all the while.
6- Cloud - Flies away and snipes with lightning. Ranged weapons or flight advised.
7- Juggernaught. Builds shield walls, and that's about it.
8- Spider -Imagine this thing, properly animated, rushing up the walls, and then catapulting off them at you. Nuff said.
9- Pet absorbtion thing mentioned above - The boss has infinite food. This weapon, if you use it, will only stall him very briefly. In his second to last form, he uses it on you, and you'd better hope you're riding on more than your pets to survive... Or that you have a lot of pets....
10- Final form. No pet is visible. Scary.
Finally, when killed, it drops:
Either a utility pet or an AOE pet. Any of them at random.
Either a passive pet or an aggressive pet. Any one of them at random.
Itself, as a pet.
Special and Legendary pets still come from the old places
The pet of the boss, then, is the canibal pet, and it consumes other pets. It does something awesome. What does it do? I dunno. Same thing the final form of the boss itself does though. Combining the powers of every pet sounds dumb, but otherwise, I got nothin'
If you're still reading, I admire your resolve, good work!
Again, something of a half-finished idea, but I'd be interested to see how other people here can build off of it, or explain to me why it is utterly stupid.

I don't see the end portal pet being much use. It's broken if you don't have to get to the end first, and once you've already been there, ans slain the dragon, without other mods, there's really very little to do there. A fine idea, but maybe not the first thing to work on.
The derp and the moo jar both seem like kinda funny names for pets, but otherwise there's no good reason to have them.
I kinda like the lever pet, but can you immagine how disapointing it is to open up that dungeon chest looking for a way to walk on water or fly and find a little redstone toy? Ugh. If it is crafting only though, I'd be happy to see it alongside a button that has the same effect temporarily, and an amazing joke pet of a door that when you rightclick redstone with it simply changes its look to open or closed. The wooden door can do this frim rightclicking anywhere, iron is powered redstone only. If any of these show up in the dungeons though, they'll make people sad.
The axe pet is a great idea except that axes don't fit any of the themes. Instead, beaver pet. Suddenly, this seems brillient.
The whole woodchips thing seems excessive, especially with the battery fuel, and I can't say I like it, but the nuggeting machine seems like a good plan. I see no reason though why it shouldn't be 9 nuggets to an ingot though. Even in the case of glowstone, nine nuggets to a dust anybody?
Finally, the charged creeper seems a little dumb, but it's soo easy to do with the other creeper in there (copy paste some code, add a different crafting recipe and texture, increase explosion size, done.) That I suspect that it'll happen, and I have nothing against it, although it completely obsolitizes the original creeper pet, so maybe that should be a crafting component for it...
1) Not sure if you know, but ChimneySwift included this mod in the Revenge of the C-Team modpack
2) I've flown around using Morph for several hours and I can't find any of the dungeons. I will check the config file when I get the chance, but how rare are they supposed to be normally? I really want a Cloud pet D:

Hi Gavin -
The Cloud Pet is always in my hotbar :D. The dungeon spawn rate is determined in the config file. They are not incredibly rare by default, you'll see one around every 30 chunks (16x16 groups of blocks). Certainly shouldn't take you hours to find.
Here are a few possible reasons:
- The world was generated before Inventory Pets was added, as the dungeons can only appear when world is originally generated
- There could be something on the server that is messing with IP World Gen (could be Thermos, haven't looked into it yet, but I've gotten one report)
- Dungeons sometimes won't generate if the server machine is out of memory and is skipping ticks
- The config file has been changed so that dungeons don't appear or are more rare
So, possible solutions are:
- Create a new world as a test, see what happens. I recommend you alter the config and put dungeon spawns at 10. You should see things rather quickly. If not, something is wrong (and let me know)
- Enable Legendary Pet recipes in the config. That way you don't have to find a dungeon. The recipes are a bit steep (e.g. Nether Star), but can be achieved with a few pets in your hotbar for support.
hey i got an idea for a pet . you know the default skin for minecraft Steve well i think you should make a pet for him . for abillities it should be water breathing and speed 1 . also i got ideas for easter themed pets . Good idea we should never forget Steve [and Alex]!

Hello PC,
Thank you so much for your helpful links ! Helps me a lot !
Just wanted to add that I noticed a new Inventory Pets review from a French youtuber (he kept the game in english :c),
He found a little bug with magma cubes but he loves your mod (obviously everyone does).
And he says you rock, lel.
I saw strange things in my life. Like mirors.
Thanks, Phyapple, I will check it out!
Yeah, that's an annoying one. You can't jump if you are walking on lava (or water). I need to spend some time on it. I know it's possible to fix
